What a big and nice surprise before going to bed from my favourite trip reporter! How can anyone but you make such an entertaining trip report from an otherwise totally boring economy trip to FRA, hehe? Seriously, you are the only one from whom i watch eco trip reports, hehe. And you are still the only one right now who makes me laugh loud..this time on the 40 km walk in the FRA tunnel:) Cordial regards!
Coming from you this is such a rewarding compliment, thank you! I was actually in a not so friendly mood, everyone in Helsinki managed to frustrate me until my first interaction with the friendly Lufthansa agent at the gate. From then on it went just upward in a very surprising way, so they were the ones to make this trip interesting! Glad you watch some of my Eco reports, you have to know what goes on behind that curtain ;) I’m enjoying Eco now while flights are not that full and prices are good. I booked Ryanair next week for the first time since 2004 as I feel sadomasochist. 15€!!! Thanks again for writing, regards back!
Cheers to no more missing connecting flights 🥂.... But if they turn out to be like this... Then hell yeah I wanna miss it! 😉 Such an amazing crew... A flight is always made more comfortable and enjoyable when the crew is interacting and interested in what they do!! Yet again amazing trip report man! 👍
I know right? I wouldn’t mind this again😁. It was not only that they felt interested in what they did, it was that they went a big step beyond that. I have a special place in my mind with the best crew memories and this one will be placed there. Thanks for the comment and for watching Jonathan!
Wow, first of all I want to thank you for this outstanding Trip Report. I think Lufthansa and especially the crew onboard your flights did an amazing Job. These are the little things which makes a flight rememberable and really enjoyable. Some people may disagree but for me Lufthansa is the best Airline in Europe and definitely one of my first choices to fly.
100% agree with you. They make the flight. Even on non popular airlines they can make you have the time of your life, or vice versa on great airlines make you have a nasty one. Lufthansa, Emirates, KLM and Air France have consistently treated me like part of their family so I can’t really choose😁. Lufthansa’s bonus is having the B747! Video of that is in the making😛
Haha I was one of the first ones to fly in to the brand new 18R runway Polderbaan and with the great anticipated expension of Schiphol and to relief pressure on runway 27 it made sense! Great reporting as always! Obrigado!!
Well dear Flip, glad you got to be one of the first to fly there, but I think that by now nobody has any anticipation to land there, specially not me and specially not when pilots are mostly single engine taxiing😂 25 minutes of my life gone! See you around!
I'm not an official aircraft mechanic, but I participate in these airplanes repairing in Budapest. :) I never flight before yet, but I'm sure that will choose Lufthansa, because every single screw is very important during the repair methods. :)
Lufthansa has some repair facility there, right? I’m very glad that each screw counts where you work! Thanks for making the skies safe 💪🏼. Hope you get to fly soon!
Lost count how many A320 family flights I have taken; now many years ago. But I still recall the “barking dog” sound and never knew what is was before…… apart from, being a very nervous flyer, it must have been something going wrong !!!! Many thanks ps I do recall Frankfurt was always a good airport if you needed to improve your Step count - always felt a long trek to the next gate !
Thanks for watching and for the comment Richard! The the A320 family would be nothing without it’s signature barking dog sound! No other Airbus plane has it. Yes Frankfurt is great to walk and walk more: in my next Frankfurt video my gate got changed 3 times, no jokes. No matter how much I dislike and complain about FRA, I keep returning😅. Some kind of love-hate relationship.
It was a surprisingly good time for an intra Europe flight. Will definitely remember it! He loves the cap 😁. He has a toy pilot that wears one so he kind of knew what he was supposed to do with it. See you around Caroline!
True. But it’s not only in the very old ones, it’s even in some newer planes. Thanks for sharing! That’s one sign that some people will never experience!
Absolutely loving these trip reports, especially as an av-geek and an aerospace engineer :) Just a tiny suggestion: Sometimes I have to keep pausing the video with the information that keeps coming in below. While it is relevant and awesome, maybe space it out? I can imagine finding the right balance is tough. Because once something comes below, I can't help but read it haha. All the best from a fellow Dubai-ite living in Delft in the Netherlands. :D
Hey Sahil, thanks for the great comment! Yes I need to space it out more, have the problem of wanting to share too much yet the footage is short. Need to learn to balance it out. Aerospace engineer at the TU? I’m sure you know some interesting facts!
Runway 25R-07L came into service in 2011. It is known as the Kelsterbach runway as it faces the area by that name. Before that RWY 25R-07L used to be what 25C-07C is at present, the one where you took off from.
@@TheLayoverAviation haha!! I remember the hard braking very well. All this while I thought Heathrow gave the longest taxiing experience from landing on 27R and taxiing to T4, but Fraport beats it all the way.
Amsterdam has a pretty long taxi too, specially from runway 18R/36L to the B/C/D gates. If you arrive from Brussels or Dusseldorf, the taxi is longer then the flight. My unbeaten taxi record though is in Chicago O’hare.
Another great video revealing the human touch of Lufthansa , personally I am not happy with the idea of buying a meal on full fledged airline budget you have no choice.
Good old Saud! I agree with you, but it’s what there is in Europe. I’m flying this week with Ryanair for the first time in 16 years and just paid 15€, Vueling I just paid 45€ and Air Europa last week 30€. Lufthansa is well above that and there isn’t way of competing with the rest of prices. So I have to understand. Sad what aviation became here. Hope that in Asia and The Middle East they keep the standards high! The human touch was awesome. Also on my other flight on the B747-400, I’ll show it soon. And I promise that I don’t go around asking them to do stuff for the show! Thanks yet again for watching!
Good question! So you’ll always hear that noise after the shutdown of engine 2. The pilots switched off that engine to single taxi thus one of the 3 hydraulic systems that depends on that engine (yellow one) shuts down. Pilots switch on the yellow electric pump and that creates then the sound. It’s, in my knowledge, a hydraulic pump that makes the noise when the engine isn’t pumping. Thanks for watching!
Dijiste que la tripulación prefería vender que el servicio a bordo?? 🤪🤪 en mi empresa eso duró poco pero no me gustaba vender… espero que no regresen las ventas a bordo jaja prefiero dar servicio. Great explanation about the FAP haha long time i don’t see one of those.
Hey Sid! Is it still with Emirates? And on which route? Because it depends if it is the 2 class B777-300ER or the 3 Class one. On the 2 class you have the chance to sit in front of the engine, which hard as usually business class is there. The best rows are 7-8-9. On the 3 class I would choose 33-34-35 or 38-39-40. Let me know!
@@TheLayoverAviation definitely the 3 class there is very limited available now as they are all getting booked only rows available now are 34,35,39,40,41 and 44
Lufthansa is an airline with very different experiences.. Sometimes you can have the best crew you ever met, and sometimes the crew is just rude and unfriendly. Regarding the changes they made to their food offerings, long-haul and medium-haul, that's a decision by Carsten Spohr and his team sadly, but it seems to work. He already said that they are able to fill planes with up to 200% price increases because of the current demand, so he probably doesn't really care about their service...
I’ve heard that a lot of times regarding the crew. I’ve had some incredible experiences, but I think it’s aso very easy for me as I’m half Dutch, so I get the humor/certain behaviors. But I fully understand if it may clash with someone else! And regarding the meal changes, sad. Trust me, now is the moment to win back customers after Covid. It’s time to invest and make new customers. And sadly my money has to go elsewhere most of the time, even when Lufthansa is more convenient for me. It will pay off in the medium term! Thanks for the great comment, I like to hear these stories!
@@TheLayoverAviation Yeah, the cultural aspect might also be a factor in why many consider Lufthansa crew to be rude. I remember the reviews of the first ALDI stores that opend in the US, with many saying the cashiers were rude because they didn't smile at them or because they scanned "too fast". I belive that's also why a lot of American flight reviewers call Lufthansa crew rude. They're efficient, fast and direct. Customer service is just really different in Germany...
Hey Ruben, a very tough choice! It’s two completely different airlines, one flies mostly Boeing and the other Airbus. So it depends what you feel like on the day! I’ve been treated spectacularly by both, so I can’t really choose. Hub wise I prefer Amsterdam anytime over Frankfurt. Thanks for watching!
Very true, I guess it’s an ear twist from the goverment to buy European after being loaned billions. It’s quite a huge change for KLM. One more reason to fly with them😄

Otherwise now I also don’t actually live in Dubai but in something called Al Yelasis😂 Nobody said that here. Thanks for watching!
So they're obviously worried about the many unnecessary empty flights in the context of emissions, but they're still not worried about their emission-high menu (meat). Let alone ethics!
Quite amazing how out of an ordinary intra-European flight you’re still able to make a very interesting and entertaining video!
It was just a whole lot of circumstances that made it so fun😁
