I agree that for now yes AI is not going to take Developer's jobs but in a long run it will cause some issues because AI learn from what Developers teaches it by the way of improving the system thereon in a long run AI won't need us. For example, in the early 2000s to run a decent company you were required to have 100+ employees however now with AI 5 people can run a decent company. And i'd encourage more people to learn more skills involving AI because it's here to stay instead of fighting against it. Great video👍.
Bro I’m a software engineering student in my Second year in ZAMBIA, and watching your video is really inspiring. I so wish to work in South Africa one day. I just have one question, is it hard to find a Job as a Foreign engineer? Your reply will be highly appreciated mahn🙏 Much love for your channel and content ❤️
I’m not sure how it is getting a job as a foreigner, in my 7+ years I have only worked with South African. I think maybe if you are experienced then it might be easy
interms of salaries for junior i disagree as in centurion a few friends and i straight after varsity started with R15-R20k ... two of us worked in the same company and others in different ones
Unfortunately you cannot base whats happening in the industry by looking at three people, and if you listened properly you would have heard that i said from as little as R7500 not that every junior gets R7500
@@BMTVSA its not based on just three but i asked online anonymously when i began before even getting a job and also last year and this year from those with jobs and recruiters and its the same figure they even go as far as saying small companies its 15-20k , larger companies its 20-25k , ofcourse those with qualifications can expect that but for those without the amounts below 10 suffice
@@BMTVSA I checked the curriculum from one of the SA university and for computer engineering it is 4 year and contain all the computer science modules and additionally includes electrical engineering modules focused on light current(electronics). Do you advise one to do this course in case they want to work embedded systems.
Junior earning R7500 a month?? That's low as hell. As I was a student at CPUT I had to do work integrated learning and I was getting 10k. Some of my peers were also on similar amounts. When I got into a grad program for a South African company I was earning a whole lot more. The salary range of a junior in my company is between 25-38k. The video is mostly true but it's extremely hard to find an IT or Computer science grad working at a medium to large company not getting paid 25k even as a junior
Yes ofcourse, you can even do a bit of both while working depending on your company structure and size. People that do full Software Engineering are usually working for smaller companies so because of lack of resources they find themselves doing a lot
Does the bootcamp like stellenbosch university a good way to software development? If anyone knows please share if they give sort of a qualification as the price of that bootcamp is not so cheap
if you are black get a diploma or bachelors brother we can't take chances , exception is never the rule , we don't have white privelge and every year in this economy it gets more and more competitive for jobs, not everyone has the luxury of a network to use their bootcamp, and top firms that hire tech roles demand those with diploma minimum, ofcourdse portfolio is what is important, but to get in the door, give yourself the best chanec
Thank you for sharing Sir, I want to become a software engineer but software development interests me so do you think its possible to move from latter to the former?
I appreciate you addressing the myth that `Full-Stack developers earn more than any other type of developers` , but you also made a claim which might not be entirely true that `Back-End developers tend to earn more than Full-Stack developers in South Africa` I saw the screenshot but there was no source of a research or survey to back this conclusion. If you concluded based on the developers you have encountered then please do state, so that we are not misleading people who really want to compare salaries before they decide which area to focus on.
I'm not misleading anyone chief the information I talk about is there online on South African reports, there's a link on the video which points to where some of the information comes from. I assume you are a full stack developer hence why you think I might be wrong or misleading people. Video dropping soon about salaries so don't worry you will get the full stats about salaries.

Well constructed, I'll add on 2 subjects for clarity: 1. Software developers/writing code are mostly active within the implementation stage of the "entire" software development life cycle which is where Software Engineers comes in. 2. AI will help you on algorithms and ideas but implementation is still fully dependent on a developer understanding what they are doing, understanding company standards and coding principles, so developers will forever exist bangatfuswa yi AI.
