One of the fun things about audio reviews is discovering new music. Some of the music you've shared, especially today's featured music, is pretty awesome, so thanks for that as well!
My experience with the Stanmore 3 was similar to your sound test where the speaker sounded like the “highs” were muffled or almost like a thin blanket was placed over the front of it. Ended up returning the Stanmore and bought the Woburn 3 which I love! Thank you for the reviews!!!
Hi, I've been watching your videos for a few weeks and I just wanted to say a very heartfelt thank you. I've been looking for a plug in home/room speaker and while considering the likes of the Sonos Era 100 and the Amazon Echo Studio your videos kept bringing me back to Marshall. In the end I nailed it down to the Acton III. But this video in particular helped me come to that decision and I am not disappointed so thank you. Your channel is excellent and you should be very proud of what you've achieved.
Been contemplating getting the Stanmore iii mostly for aesthetic purposes. This review was amazing, I think I know what I’ll get. Also thanks for the music lol
I subbed, and have been binging all your Marshall reviews! You’re a FANTASTIC UA-camr and reviewer, and your attention to detail gives me “Jim’s review room” vibes! Great sound test music too! Woburn 3 sounds excellent! I’m considering returning my Stanmore III (but the brown looks sooo good) and picking up a Tufton for both parties and chilling at home. Considered a Woburn but I can’t seem to justify getting that loud of a speaker and not using it to the full potential! I’ve wanted a Marshall Stanmore or Marshall speaker since 2015 when I first saw it
Dang man, that's such a warm compliment. Hits me in the feels. I know its just speakers but I try really hard to make it decent! Thanks for binging my channel haha
@Danny Pops since switching to a Woburn II for my main speaker, I've regularly felt paranoia about the level of bass from my Woburn II to the point that if the bass is at a respectful place in regards to other tenants, I can't hear enough from the speaker. Like I can't hear voices or soft noises in a movie/TV show, and parts of music is significantly lower volume than I would like; because, if I go and turn it up, that bass is going to be higher than I want -- disturbingly so -- again even at the lowest setting. I'm not even sure when or if there is a place this speaker would shine. Maybe a room with 10 foot ceilings, about 12-14 feet wide and 17-21 feet long.
@@DannyPops hey man, I hope this inspires you to keep bringing even better reviews and videos to the game! A video idea I would love to see you make or consider making, is putting the Marshall line of speakers, up against the Fender line of speakers. They are very similar in their design and i don’t see a lot of UA-cam videos comparing the two against each other! Also, maybe a comparison between an apple HomePod (the big boy or the mini) and your speakers at home (like a HomePod vs everything) Cheers, and can’t wait to see even more of your reviews soon!
Thanks for this great review 👍 On an esthetics level, I prefer the Stanmore. However, its sound does not impress me. I find it a bit muffled, but maybe that can be adjusted a bit? Soundwise, the Tufton appears much clearer than the Stanmore. Of course, the baddest of all is the Woburn ❤ I hear people saying they don't need that much power, but I think that the Woburn is not so much about the decibels it can produce, but rather its clear, rich, and detailed sound over a wider frequency band. Clearly, above all its siblings. My question is: does the Woburn retain all its great qualities when played at a low volume?
Great review. Thanks for that. I was thinking of buying two speakers. The woburn for the livingroom and the Stanmore for the bedroom. But now I listen to it in the review I might also be good off with the acton. Thanks for that insight!
Just spent a ½hr comparing in person the Stanmore III vs the Acton Not sure what you wete hearing but the Stanmore sounded way better, fuller and deeper. The Acton sounded much thinner sound over all and the bass was not as good either.
I have the 3 models and I think the internal volume of the acton is better designed than the stanmore..... the stanmore could grow and come with 6' woofer instead of the current 5'... so it would have a good advantage over the acton that is excellent speaker for the size.
Hi, Danny. Love to see your reviews. However, there are some question/comments to come: 1. As per your comparison Acton 3 is almost same loudness as Stanmore 3 and latest even sounds more muddy. Still Stanmore is very close to Tuffton, which sounds much brighter in review. So, where is the truth? 2. I have got Acton 3 and it really makes white noise when turning on and swithcing to aux or bt sourse and keeps nosing until switched off. Please, recheck. You have to put your ears really close to hear that noise, but it exists. Can find many comments in this. 3.acton bass levell is not sufficient for me. Changing to Stanmore 3 Will help adding bass level? Thx anyway and hope to soonest reply
Bit late but I can confirm, the Acton is more direct, the Stanmore sounds a bit washed, as if it was standing in front of some glass, idk. Got to test a friend's Acton 3 and was more pleased in terms of understandablility. I refunded my Stanmore and now waiting for my Acton 3 to arrive tomorrow or the next day.
What a beautiful speaker. Excellent review video as usual Danny! Keep up the great work. Here we go AGAIN.... I HAVE to have that speaker.... My wife gonna be so pissed.... 😄
This is such a useful review. My friend wants to gift me with a marshall speaker. From your review, I seem to really like the Tufton as it sounds brighter and clear, whereas the Stanmore 3 was kind of muffled, which was a little disappointing.?
Hey Danny! Hope you’re doing great. Pls let me know how the Acton III sounds compared to Klipsch the one II? I hope you reply to me as it’ll help me decide which speaker to go for. Thanks, keep up the great work ❤️
More mature and settled sound than the Acton. Signature wise it seems more in line with the speakers from the Marshall range above it, but 'size of sound' wise in line with those below it. While Tufton is a classic party speaker, the Stanmore is more suited for personal listening. Let's say, they are respectively the extrovert's and introvert's speakers!
Couldn’t agree more Danny boy ! It’s either the Woburn 3 or the Tufton for me. I’d probably settle for the Tufton because I can play it indoor & outdoor without worrying about an electrical outlet …
Your reviews are amazing ! I personally love the acton series, was wondering which colour you'd recommend between the brown and the cream ! The brand is not readily available here in India and most tech retailers don't accept returns.
Stanmore 2 or Stanmore 3 or Action 3. Which has the best sound? I listened to stanmore 2 and action 2 and felt stanmore 2 has better sound. Please recommend one among the 3 mentioned above
I have a 180 sqft bedroom. I used Stanmore 1 which died recently. It used fill the room and had good bass but may be not the best clarity. Please suggest me. I usually listen in low volume but love fuller detailed sound. Does the Woburn sound fuller even at a lower volume? Does the Acton have adequate thump?
I have a very left off field question.....if i want to use one of these (stanmore or acton) as a makeshift Speaker for busking/open mic where i input a vocal processor+ guitar to a crowd of 30, would i be able to achieve it with an acton or should push up for the stanmore because of the speaker amount...... The odd reason i want to opt for either is solely coz of the look and aesthetic and my presentation is primarily for 50s/60s spaghetti western, classical jazz and bigband broadway jazz
Which one should I buy, what do you recommend? I want to pair it with a Rega Planar 2 record player, I would listen mostly to hip hop, I like good and strong bass :), it would be placed in a room of 18m2
Tell me frankly - would you buy the Marshall speakers if they didnt look as gorgeous as they do but costed two-thirds of what they do? I am wondering if their appeal is more due to the sound signature or the looks!
For me it's the entire package that matters. Branding always has been and always will be part of the experience. Just like with a car. All of them will get you A to B but some make it more joyous than others. I still think the sound they produce to my ears is fundamentally better than a lot of other speakers but yeah, I'd be less inclined If they weren't as beautiful.

*Do not buy Marshall speakers.* I owned the Stanmore II for about three years until it suddenly stopped working (due to a firmware problem, which seems to be very common after 2 or 3 years of use). Since it was no longer under warranty, Marshall wanted to charge me around 200€ to fix it... Not worth it. I ended up selling it for parts and bought another brand. That sucks that your stanmore 2 broke! I don't think they design these to last an extremely long time. That said my Woburn 2 still works after years of use so it's a bit of a luck game.
Jist a heads up if you are into any higher end audio the whole lineup will dissapont. I love the asthetic but they all sound bad with the exeption being the woburn. The stanmore was a total disappointment.

I ended up selling it for parts and bought another brand.
I also have an old Acton speaker that still works (and I'm happy with). I suppose the newer models are designed with planned obsolescence.
That sucks that your stanmore 2 broke! I don't think they design these to last an extremely long time. That said my Woburn 2 still works after years of use so it's a bit of a luck game.
Love ur videos
Acton sounds better than Stanmore,i can t belive it
Gorgeous bluetooth Speaker, legendary sound from Marshall. The speaker will last a lifetime.
on/off not hearing mashall sound?(drum sound)?
When is Tufton 3 coming or the next Gen Tufton coming ?
I’m wondering the same exact thing. I’m stuck between the next gen Tufton, jbl partybox 310/320, and the jbl boombox 3
@@Javier03Li Reviews of JBL boom box 3 are not good at all !!
The expression when it comes to Stanmore III 😂
I’m searching for Danny pops kilburn 2 review but I’m blinking that’s you missed the monster to review. So kindly review kilburn2
I don't recommend it. It sounds boxy so skip it. I'll be waiting for the kilburn 3 or whatever they come out with :)
@@DannyPops Thanks for the reply but I'd already purchased and I'm satisfied
🤗
The devil works hard but Danny Pops works harder! 🤣 Damn pls keep pumping out these 💯 reviews!!
If this was actually my full time job I'd get a lot more done haha!
can't see your decibel meter it overlapped by Dan Pops
Jist a heads up if you are into any higher end audio the whole lineup will dissapont. I love the asthetic but they all sound bad with the exeption being the woburn. The stanmore was a total disappointment.
can you link the stanmore 2 with the stanmore 3? to make a stereo pair
You can't currently until indefinite updates happen
How does the stanmore 3 compare to the 1sr gen in terms of sound? Anyone?
It's a bit more processed sounding I'd say based on my woburns. If you watch my Woburn 3 review you can hear the difference in those.
