2023 Ocean Rodeo - Aluula Graflyte and Aeris-X canopy breakthrough

- Ocean Rodeo owner Richard Myerscough introduces two new revolutionary materials for wingsurfing. Aeris-X is a very light, very strong canopy material that is probably foil-proof! It's 10 times more tear resistant than traditional canopy material, is 3 times more UV resistant, doesn't stretch, and is 40 percent lighter. Aluula Graflyte is a new 20% lighter version of Aluula Gold.

The only brand who come up with something really new and a even a vision. 1 kg kite sounds crazy.
Duotone so far has been incredibly inventive and ground breaking in winging products as well. I never had a high opinion on Ocean Rodeo in my kiting days. That wing looks and sounds incredible tho (foil cuts resistant! count me in!), I might reconsider my take on them if they keep putting out products like this.
@@dezeustre i agree. Im a massive duotone fan boy and didnt like the look of the flimsy handles on the previous ocean rodea wings. This wing looks really really solid and i dont think i would mind changing my dlab for this wing or vice versa
When can we get these new wings? They look incredible.
Oi! Updates? It’s been 9 months 💸💸💸💸
Very Cool - Are you coming to King of Great Lakes with MACkite this weekend?
Love these videos and interviews. Maybe get the intros a little tighter? It feels like all these interviews start super awkward. Just a minor comment :)
We thought this intro was one of the funnier ones. One take.
When are these wings coming out? I heard June. Anyone know?
seem a good progression in term of material, tho it's not cheap yet 🤣 i've a lot of people with dlab in europe still.
what no one talks about allula is that is freys with time... imagine paying 3k for a kite that in x years donw the line is gone.
How much for just the strut?
Depends... with the two handles or carbon bar?
Does a 3k $ wing last double of a1,5K $ one?
Being 10 times more tear resistant and more uv resistant it likely will.
@@johnbryja3849 As far as I know, composites cloths are delicate even they are a lot tear resistant(unfortunately),unless you have a big wallet or racing needs it is not so worthly usually...
@@R020777 We will be testing that. We have the wing with the Aeris-X for testing. Not sure we want to be intentionally stabbing it with our foils but it would make for a great video.
@@WingsurfingMagazine Forgive my criticism, but usually expensive gear tends to reduce potential buyers and sport diffusion .It' s commendable that there are people searching for better gear, but at the same time I would like to see a lot more "joung guns" in this sport as in windsurfing...
@@R020777 The evolution of less expensive lighter materials is starting to happen in kiting. Best way for young riders to access less expensive gear is to work part time in a shop. Become a shop team rider.
no sound after 4:26
Shane’s wireless mic dropped out. Check that both your speakers are on. Richard was on the other speaker side. I’ll try to reoutput the sound in mono.

tx a lot for the effort
Pity about the sound. It detracts from what seems to be some cool new stuff. Can you do a voice over or text of what was said. Not the first interview where sound has gone?
Check your speakers. Their is good sound on the one stereo side.
Crap sound balance yet again! I'm out of here.
Shane is on the left channel, Richard is on the right. Is one of your speakers broken?
