Cause is more smooth and closer to how to use uno of those in real combat. Every hit ends in a stance and that's a pretty cool detail. More weapons should have this moveset

As some people already have said; it would be fun to see some dagger action. I imagine dual wielding daggers with quick step would be pretty terrifying and funny since you need to be in the opponents face all the time.

Not a request for a certain weapon, but next time you get something from the colossal weapon category I'd love to see you dual wield it with the equipment load physik. I think the 3 minute timer would make the duel/invasion very interesting
I just tore my ACL and I'm super bummed about it. I'm looking forward to watching the vids as I recover from upcoming surgery and PT. You're much appreciated my dude.
I think it would be fun to see starting class 125 builds. You can only use what each starting class has but spec however you would like and use your flask/body buffs. I feel like Chase could make any of the starting weapons work well in duels and invasions and it would really highlight skill over weapon.
Easily one of the prettiest greatswords in the entire game! Just wish it had the claymore's thrust... I mean, just look at that blade t a p e r!! It's MADE to stab a man right in the grisly bits! Unacceptable!
Hey Chase, small QoL tip: you might want to put your emotes on the bottom instead of top so getting to them is right->up or left->up instead of right->down->down->down like you usually do. Great series keep it up!
Those two crossed scabbards on the character's back look so cool, I love weapon types that add them to your appearance. As always, great video. I actually have yet to play a strength build in Elden Ring, I've been completely taken captive by so many fun Dex builds, but dual wield Greatsword looks fun as hell. Thanks for the inspiration.
Awesome video, as always! The more of your showcases I watch, the more it looks like people who duel you walk through the fog wall before that. I love the weapon chose as well. Sometimes it feels like FS did not do other Greatswords justice moveset-wise, because those flowing combo swings on Knight's and Banished look so good, like a bootleg Blaviken fight scene from the Witcher TV show. In line with other people's comments, I think some dual dagger action, as well as more 2-handed twinblade usage (Eleanoras, Gargoyle's) would be really fun and cool to watch.
One of the most useful parts of quickstep is a full sideways step will chain into a backstep attack. Massive aggression on most weapons. Duel great swords get a double stab charge, and it even makes great axes more viable with a uppercut running slash that most people don’t see/expect.
another lovely showcase Chase! Great to see that quickstep backstab what a wild turn of events. That first invasion wow... Lets go something real random like the Micquellan Kinghts Sword!
"I don't know what kind of moves I'm hoping to get out of it, but" *immediately uses it to perform the elusive backstab :P Nice as always Chase! Love this series more by the day!
Since this kinda looks like the Farron greatsword, my friend and I made a somewhat abyss watcher cosplay build earlier. We called ourselves Abyss Follower(s) and mixed some fire incantations in with our cosplay
Ah, my knowledge of the jumping r1 to r1 combo has been successfully passed on. Thanks for covering it, even though it only landed once in the video. Hopefully this gets more people using greatswords again! I'd also like to see ya utilize it in invasion streams where swapping and powerstancing takes longer than just the one. Jumping r1-r1 basically deals the same as jumping L1. As for everyone else, now you know. Please use greatswords thanks have fun.
Love seeing the Banished Knight Armor. That's my favorite chest piece in the game, both for stats and for looks. It would be nice if we could get it before Mountaintops of the Giants, since we're blocked off from that area for most of the game. Although I can easily stick with the Altered Banished Knight Armor and be very happy, since that one's available immediately.
Piercing Fang works really well with this, especially for roll catching. I have two in my right hand that I switch between, both cold infused to get the frostbite proc, one with Chilling Mist and the other with PF. Honestly it confuses invaders so much when I use CM to land at least one hit, almost procs frostbite in one go. A couple of R1 strikes, or jump R1 > R1 and then R2 since it's delayed and sometimes either roll catches or allows a trade, but does a lot of damage. I would switch to my other with PF and jump R1 > R1 and then PF to either roll catch or hit them before they L2 spam. It's not fool proof and requires setting up, but feels great when it pulls off. Even works through blocking, so getting those chonky bois with greatshields is a bonus.
Chase, another great vid! Would love to see you try dual wield cleanrot knight swords. The L1 chain is nasty! I've always been a dual halberd guy but they have become my fav build for PVE.
I love that you used quickstep. I think that is severely underused for aggressive play styles. Whenever someone is trying to be aggressive with BHS against me they tend to shoot past me and get in a poor position. Quickstep is for sure better in those scenarios.
I'd love to request the Glintstone Kris as a weapon! We didn't have a dagger showcase yet, iirc. I could imagine it being quite tough to pull off though because of virtually no poise damage on regular attacks
Heya Chase! I actually had a question for you. Does upgrade level for Spirit Ashes effect matchmaking? If I have a character at +7/+17 can I max out an ash?
hello chase, that first invasion was me and my friend it was pretty long and fun fight but unfortunately we were out of flasks so we kept trying to pressure you but ggs tho! :) I was the crossbow guy btw lol
This might require some reprogramming of your muscle memory, but I think for things like this where you mainly switch to the second weapon for Glintblade Phalanx, etc., it would be better if you made that your mainhand weapon and put the one you plan to two-hand in your off hand. It'd be quicker for you to switch from two-handing the left hand weapon to dual wielding to cast the Ash of War in your right hand weapon, since that's what it always defaults to unless the left hand has a parry Ash of War, than it is to switch from two-handing the right hand weapon to two-handing the left hand weapon for just that one cast. Plus, it takes half the inputs.
Not sure if this works for great swords, but with rapiers, if you Quickstep left or right, the next attack will be the same as the backstep attack. Worth a test maybe?
It's always funny to see the player character struggle with swinging a weapon which the enemies swing around like it's nothing like the banished knight in castle sol dual wielding greatswords like they are straight swords.
Hey chase I was wondering if you would be willing to do a series where you show off full on builds for different playstyles and weapons. I think it would be really cool and interesting to see what kind of builds you come up with for specific weapons or items in the game
while the weapon moveset showcase are interesting (i've been watching your videos since dark souls). i wanna see you showcase ash of wars, spells, and synergies.
