but on the Myx vs Zymba thing... Zymba was the one who brought up the notion that the other queens couldn't afford clothes first before Myx bantered with her... Zymba just didn't like the fact it was thrown back at her...
Zymba: Do you guys know, saan galing itong ano (dress) ko? [do you guys know where I got this dress?] Myx: Hindi, at saka wala din kaming paki... char lang! [No, and we don't care... kidding!] Zymba: Of course you can't afford such thing babe, kaya wala kang pakialam... [Of course you can't afford such thing babe, that's why you don't care] Myx: Ah Talaga, sabi ng package mong hindi ikaw nagbayad? [Oh really? Says the package that you didn't pay for yourself?] So yeah... Zymba started it... couldn't fight back... and is playing the victim card...
I know alot of people are saying Khianna should win as well. The thing as as a Pinoy, the Tagalog verses had more impact for me; just felt more soulful and authentic (IMO). And because Khianna's rap was fast I couldn't catch everything she was saying. So yeah, Khianna for me was a WOW WOW performance visually but the one that moved me the most was Angel's, particulary with her lyricism and the way she sang it (I can't stop playing the sissy part of her verse in my head 😅). The translations just can't perfectly embody how great it is. Literally had chills listening to her part.
@@jomsbowie hmmm kung ano man thought mo sa kanya the whole episode, sayo na yan. I was commenting about the challenge and how I was leaning more towards the tagalog verses. Pero sige, go off
@@onvr-s then stop making excuses and invalidating other's opinion towards the show, move by what? Her lyrics na puro self hailing as the only trans woman in the top five? Like what? We all know that she's the only trans woman this season. It was not just someone's observation but the majority has the same sentiment. Hope u could comprehend before telling someone to "go off"
I think Maxie had the right to be really annoyed because she has on many gay movies, short clips that people have seen at one point or another that promoted visibility for LGBTQ+ people.. and take note, Maxie has been doing this since she was like what, 6 or 7 years old as a little gay kid! She has started on movies, on stage plays etc... and btw, kudos to her very supportive family for that. Love that for her and love that for all of us!
Loved this pod! Loving Eve’s villainy 😈🔥 I also just found it so funny how Johns specifically gay kookie filipino humor is really hard to translate in English lol. Even other Filipinos might not get it either so yall are good lol. I just found it hilarious that John must have looked insane and coked out in a non filipino lens😭
Although I get your perspectives, I don't think it's fair to say there's a lot of riggory in this season. A lot of the episodes where there's debates who should've won, the tops are always neck and neck. Those specific episodes were never like there's a clear winner and they just gave the win to somebody else. If we use our thinking caps here, there could be a universe where Khianna wasn't in the top 2 for episode 1 and thus not winning the episode; where Khianna won over Maxie on the girl group; where either John or Tita won over Angel in the Snatch Game; where Khianna won this rumix over Angel. However, in those scenarios I don't think the "riggory" discussion would've been less. There's going to be significant amount of people that will say Khianna should've won, Angel should've won, Maxie should've won etc. I just feel like, even if we think someone did better than the other, we must still consider what others think as well 'cause most of the time it just comes down to personal taste. I think we should recognize that instead of saying an episode is rigged in favor of someone just because you thought they were 2nd place and not the winner. Overall, I think the season is very much fair. It just suffered the consequences of having top performing drag artists that most of the time, it's hard to say who did better than who.
I'm with you. When there are so many challenges that have been very close, it really comes down to personal preference. I've never felt the season was rigged for anyone.
I agree. The talent is so high this season that most of the time wins/bottom placements came to small details. Even tho I didn't agree with some results and a few were...debatable, I still think it was a fair (and very good) season overall.
@@migoym6079 just to add, this season has a lot of Filipino references, humor and lyricism that might not translate very well to non-Filipino viewers resulting to their different judgement especially in the challenges. But I could confidently say that all the challenges winners are very deserving on their own right, nothing is rigged - it is just that you don’t get it, and we understand that.
Accla is not an f-word. It's from the word ‘bakla’ which means gay. Online they omitted the b in bakla, hence akla, and stylised it to accla or sometimes acclah. It is reclaiming the word bakla that some cis use as derogatory. It is now used as an endearment call to fellow queer. Slay, accla slay!
Performance-wise, Khianna was only a bit better than Angel. Runway-wise, Angel was a bit better than Khianna. However, I must say, what edged the win in favor of Angel to me is the lyrics. Although impressive with her rap and flow, some of Khianna's lyrics pretty much consists of key drag race words in different font. I felt Angel's lyrics was more original and more personal to her, her drag, and her run on the show. There's also a lot of nuances on her lyrics that do not translate well in English, so I get why most people would gravitate towards an all-English verse. Regardless they were neck and neck to win this episode, and either way, I would've been fine.
I was thinking about that when I was listening to the song (again) today. It really does help that Khianna's lyrics were mostly English. That made it much easier to digest for all of us. But I still say they both deserved the win! 🎉❤
agree. I thought Khianna won the episode, however, after listening and watching a few more times, Angel's verse really grew on me. I'm addicted to her flow and lyrics
Exactly!!!!! As a Filipino, Angel's verse for me was THE BEST. Very authentic, very fierce, very "ANGEL". And her stage presence sets her apart. She was amazing!!!!
I don’t think the translation was a huge factor for me, I understood Angel’s verse and I liked it, but I enjoyed the way Khianna’s verse flowed more. It’s all about the musicality for me.
For me, zymba performed the song as a concept, Tita Baby existed in the song. Tita won for me in the first few, and held it to the end, esp when she cascaded down in desparation. The light though... 😂😂😂
For me, I would have chosen Zymba as well by just a bit. But I think the judges saw something in Tita Baby's perf in real time that we did not see on screen. And I think that spelled the difference in the decision. By the way, the composer of the song shared in an interview once that he wrote the song because of his dad who succumbed to an illness.
I still can't believe we spent 37 minutes talking about the mini challenge. 😂 And when I tell you Slay Accla has been in my head non stop for the past two days, I really mean it! 😊❤
This top 4 is great! But, it's Maxie Drag Race. We all know that. Not much to talk about it... I'm really happy for Tita!! Angel kinda won me over during the season... But Khianna is my winner (and the real winner of the season). Ps: This is why I1m always so happy when Eve is here!!!!! More Eve the villain!!! 😈

Angel won fair and square. Thee Marina Summers was also very very impressed with Angel. She and Khianna were head to head in the Rumix (I agree with David they were both 10/10) but Angel sealed her win after the runway. The category was BALL GOWN EXTRAVAGANZA and Khianna's was NOT IT....she literally had the smallest ball gown among the Queens. Eve has issues with Angel, she always has that theories against Angel since Day 1....and why did she say that Angel always serves sexiness the whole season? Are you kidding me? If she wasn't a versatile Queen she should have been eliminated already. And if Angel always serve sexiness, then what? That's called BRANDING, Eve. Stop invalidating Angel's talent and hardwork.
