Jin borrowing Lars's moves actually makes sense. At the end of T7, they're both in this new "good guys" team. It's only natural to assume that he trained with Lars (as canonically, Lars defeated him at the end of T6), so Lars taught him some of his tricks.

Another Tekken content creator actually pointed out that Jin uses moves that mirror closer to Jinpachi.
Such as his new string ender from b3

They say Jin has Kyokushin as a base but a lot of his moves are super mobile and evasive which is a lot closer to shotokan point fighting karate applied to a full contact context.
Kyokushin looks more like muay thai except instead of a few powerful strikes its more about consistent forward pressure and eating up space so you can keep pressuring and forcing your opponent on the defensive.

that is not the case. Lydias Moves looks more like Shotokan instead of Jins. Jin has a lot of low kicks like d/b+4 or the 3,1,4 string. In Shotokan karate, you don't have low kicks.

those moves that looks 'super mobile' can be seen in Kyokushin's Kata (forms). Kyokushin practioners won't fight exactly like in Kata not because they can't, but 'cause they follow the rules of the competitions.
An example is being able to punch or throw elbows to the head. If they could, fighting wouldn't be that close range as it is.

    • @batistabomb-
      @batistabomb- Рік тому

Since Jin has got a few Lars like moves maybe they'll give Lars some Mishima or Kazama moves like a parry or an electric.
On a side note I feel Jin has become open minded and mature allowing other fighting styles (and philosophies) to influence him . He can now see the objective value of other styles even ones made by people he hates. Using Mishima style moves and the devil gene to strengthen his kit.
The self loathing, matter of fact extremist who forsake a fighting style and feels the need to coldly shutdown the optimism of his opponents is gone.

Been really enjoying it, and mostly hoping 8 has Raven or Master Raven (or another new character with the same broad moveset) so I don't have to learn a totally new character in the move over, but curious to tey Kazuya if that doesn't happen and no one else jumps out at me

Especially since watching your *excellent* Tekken Archetypes video when that dropped, it really became clear to me just how homogenized and samey the T7 roster got late into its life. I personally struggled to find "the character" for me, and the cast lacking that strong sense of individuality kinda exacerbated my character crisis.
Through your breakdown here, I realized that I am not giving the Tekken team enough credit; they really are trying their darndest to give this new Tekken game a heavy seasoning of good-ass fighting game design

Kazuya is letting himself become the devil and slowly losing his humanity, hence he can transform into Devil Kazuya. On the other hand, Jin has mastered the devil gene without losing his humanity. So he can tap into Devil Jin's power without the need to transform.

Someone needs to clear all the doubts regarding heat system as eventho they made it quite clear enough tho sometimes confusing, its pretty much understandable. And yet many people are still confused and think its still some sort of 2D bar system.
There's just 2 ways to activate heat:
    1. Heat burst:
Instant activation, does'nt combo on normal hit, gives u 1 heat energy for doing 1 heat specific action.
Primarily used as combo tool for bound and extending combos with the acquired heat energy.
    2. Heat engager:
Attacks that puts u in heat, doesn't give a combo, and not ideal combo tools either. Gives 2 heat energies instead of 1 bcos its not a combo tool, u have access to 2 heat specific actions u can use in the nuetral.
Primarily punishers and this is the defensive capabilities of heat system because a correct punishment with a heat engager might give u frame advantages and pressure in the opponent's face while having 2 heat energies if they open themselves to get punished.
Once u r in heat u have 2 heat specific actions
    1. Heat Dash:
Cancels for certain moves only when u r already in heat so that u can spend 1 heat energy to cancel certain moves and pickup opponents for a combo if it connects.
Heat dash cancellable moves may have changed properties when in heat that allows u to combo afterwards.
    2. Heat smash:
Rage drive type attacks only available durinf heat and completely uses heat if used, so after a Heat engager on hit, its better to use a Heat dash and then a heat smash so as to not waste one of the heat energy.

Just because Tekken has elements of humor and unrealistic fantasy doesn't necessarily mean it can't have nuance, the series had nuance in it's story and character development all the way until Tekken 6 (yes even Tekken 5, with all of the weird, sudden and jarring changes that it made still had a semblance of nuance left peppered around within the Tekken universe), this trailer gives me hope that they are at least TRYING to salvage all the damage that was done to the Tekken lore in 6 and 7.

@@ThatBlastedSalami "Tekken 4 especially was a highpoint when it came to this so I hope the character's motivations are properly explored."
While I agree that Tekken 4 was the highpoint when it came to characters motivation in the Tekken series , it's really not anything worth praising in the grand scheme of things. For instance, most of Tekken 4's prolouges have the problem of "Tell, but DON'T Show", meaning we don't get to see Paul's regression from his glory days, or Laws depression after failing his restaurant business which he worked really hard to get started. It's all explained to us through a few minute narration. It's even worse for the endings, since those range from at best five minutes, and at WORST about ONE minute, which isn't much story to tell... Yeah, Tekken 4 had a decent story for it's time, but that's not saying much when most fighting games at the time, BARELY did anything with it's story, if at all ( Street Fighter, and Virtua Fighter). And T4's story is laughable when compared to games in other genres that came out either around the same time as T4 or EVEN before it, with these games telling rich narratives with complex themes and TONS of character development like MGS 1-2 ,and Final Fantasy 9.
And it gets even worse for other Tekken games for some of these characters, For example, up into this point in the Tekken series with 7, Kazuya is STILL a one dimensional villain who will kill anyone who is an obstacle to achieve his goal of world domination , just see Kazuya's Tekken 5 ending where he kills his own grandfather, and laughs like an absolute madman after doing it.That's it, that's his ENTIRE character, riveting stuff... It gets even worse with side characters, who either regress ( like Paul becoming an absolute moron who has a goofy catch phrase of being the "toughest in the unniverse") or being a character that never develops at all ( Bryan is still a one- dimensional villain who like to destroy things because he can) . It's dumb. And I know someone going to criticize me for comparing T4 to games in other genres including an RPG, but I don't like that fighting game community will hail Tekken 4 as the standard for fighting game story telling as if it rivals the best in other genres when it clearly doesn't, nor is it the best in its own genre, since both developers NRS, and Arc System Works, have both told more engaging narratives with TONS of character development in their fighting games in recent years. I'm not angry just offering my two cents on the matter, since no one never seems to bring this up.
Finally, I really like the direction T8 is going in, since it seems to be going in a more anime direction, with Jin dong cart wheels, and hit sparks flying everywhere with every attack, it seems like Jin really took a page from Lars here, and I'm all for it, some people will criticize this for not being realistic, but do I REALLY need to reminding that this is the same series, where you can play as a bear, a boxing kangaroo, a gigantic robot, a cyborg, and a FREAKING magical piece of wood that comes to life? Do I really NEED TO REMIND YOU that the main focus is on super natural beings known as devils?
In regards to game play, I was never the biggest fan of the game play, which is not surprising to me, since despite many FGC content creators trying to define what objectively makes a good fighting game, the reality is that the answer to that question is going to change depending on WHO you ask, EVEN among pro players. For instance, they are are pro players that only like fighting games that are primarily footsie based, so games like Street Fighter and KOF are games that they are most likely going to love and hate airdashers like BBCF, GGXRD, and MBTL. Personally, I prefer airdashers over purely footsie based ones, since the extra movement gives you more ways to approach the opponent during offense and neutral, but I'm aware it's an opinion that definitely isn't shared by everyone. Though this fact isn't surprising to me, since fighting games are still art and art IS subjective, and what is good or bad is going to VARY from person to person.
And one of the things I value in the fighting game is unique characters that set them selves apart from each other, whether that be in terms of movement speed, defense, and ESPECIALLY game plan and unique system mechanics ONLY available to that character. It's one of the main reasons that I didn't like DragonBallFighterZ, since when that game launched the game felt very homongenized, and in that way didn't feel like an Arc System works Title at all, especially when you compare DBFZ to Arc System Work's earlier titles like GGXRD and BBCF where the characters were JUST AS complicated as the universal system mechanics themselves. And it's not just a problem I have with Arc either, since even more newer titles from other developers suffer from this issue I have with Homogenization, with games like the new Melty Blood, and even Tekken 7 suffering from this exact same problem ( infamous FGC Content creator Aris himself ADMITS that Tekken 7 is homongenized). Currently, games like BBCF, GGXRD, and SC6 are my favorite fighting games since all three have what I'm looking for, with BBCF being my number one, since that currently is the most unique fighting game currently out on the market IMO.
I say all of this because if your love for the game is not there your chances of wining are MUCH lower, and those people will always be behind the curve of those who ACTUALLY enjoy the game. (High prize pool or not). So as someone who doesn't particularly care for footsie based fighting games in the first place ( like KOF, Street Fighter, DNF DUEL, GBFVS) the recent million dollar announcement for SF 6 doesn't do much for me in terms of motivating me to play the game. The only positive I see is that other fighting game developers may feel the need to have prize pools, to match their competitors to help keep interest in their games for casuals outside a particular community. That being said, I'm happy for Street Fighter fans and footsie based fans though. Overall, the idea of giving new characters, some individuality with the heat mechanic will hopefully make T8 more interesting for me, will see.
I think part of the reason I enjoy watching videos like these despite my lack of interest in the game play is the sure production Tekken content creators put into their work, with Blasted Salami in particular being the best at it by far. Seriously, the amount of editing on display in some of these videos is INSANE, and I can only imagine how long it was to write the script on some of these videos. Keep up the good work.

Arya's wishlist has been checked off it seems. I remember sometime during Tekken 7 him mentioning that in Tekken 8, Jin & Devil Jin to be fused into one. Your prayers got answered.
I'm surprised as to you being the Tekken person who first mentioned Jin's new moves to be inspired from Lars. No wonder Lars in the TGA trailer encourages, "You can do this Jin Kazama!" It does make sense from story point of view because Lars is true blue Mishima who hasn't shown signs of corruption. Sweden truly is far from Japan I guess. I've always thought it weird as to why Jin isn't able to unlock the Omen stance in Tag 2 when he has Lars as his partner, for Heihachi's blood flows through his veins, unlike the adopted Zaibatsu heir, Lee Chaolan.
I've been watching reaction & breakdown videos, & I saw Aris's too & he said something very interesting that didn't cross my mind. Now that there are lots of hit sparks & funky movesets, he said that they must be using assets from Tekken X Street Fighter, & the theory does make sense. Akuma dropped in Tekken 7, Fahkumram & Katarina were Sagat & Chun-Li respectively. Harada-San had already cemented his job in Namco during the 90s when he smashed sales records & eventually he became the Tekken guy. This time too, he sensed the market & was wise to go for Tekken 7 instead of the crossover. Remember how in Street Fighter X Tekken, it was Capcom's imagination of Tekken characters with Street Fighter mechanics. They nailed the characteristics of the Tekken characters very well. So well that 'cough cough' a significant number of Tekken 7 characters have their rage arts inspired from their SFXT counterparts. Heihachi's & Kuma's goofiness, Yoshimitsu's & Raven's ninjutsu, Jack's roboticism, Bryan's thrill for combat; Capcom did a fantastic job, even though some characters like Steve & Lei needed a few touchups but overall, the SFXT incarnations were great. What's important to note here that Capcom got 3D characters working in 2 dimensions with meters & it worked.
Now, coming to Tekken X Street Fighter, Ryu & company needed to adapt themselves into 3D world. And since we've seen how Bandai Namco did a spectacular job of that with Akuma & Geese in Tekken 7; so much so that they broke the game. They were playing Tekken as well as 2D meter game in Tekken 7. Namco must have thought of a universal meter system for Street Fighter characters in Tekken X Street Fighter. And THAT must be the heat system in Tekken 8! 3D fighters have always been about universal system mechanics & the universal heat system looks like the answer to 2D's meter. I even read someone saying how SoulCalibur VI's meter system was a testing ground for Tekken 8's meter system. All-in-all, the TGA trailer was the only disappointing one for me. With these weekly trailers, I'm hyped. And get going Arya! You're doing a fantastic job !!!

@That Blasted Salami I know that Jin Kazama that he has a lot of potential couple of references with his Special *EX* “Moveset” ability that 6:08 1st: Benimaru Nikaido from SNK’s: King Of Fighters Handou Sandan Geri with His new defense attack reacting to go into offense & Sqaure Enix’s Final Fantasy: Sephiroth which is the One-Winged Angel allusion to Jin Kazama mixture of combination to use his Devil Form and his original classic Kazama and Mishima Fighting-style back as Fusion mode + the reaction itself to as well but I’m still excited 😆 what they’ll bring for surprise Character Gameplay Trailer announcements leading up towards to the Tekken 8 Released I’m hoping it’ll be April 2024 release that’s where I will be suggesting to at it.
TK8 I’m still sure positive they’ll have Guest Characters like: Rock Howard From SNK King Of Fighters, Dante From Capcom’s Devil May Cry
❤️🔥💙, Baiken From ARC System’s Guilty Gear ⚙️ / Ryu Hayabusa From Koei Temco’s Ninja Gaiden / Ryu From Capcom’s Street Fighter and Final Addition Fighter: Senran Kagura 💙 Guest Character Wild Card pick “Yumi Or Homura” to be honest with I would definitely pick Asuka (Marvelous Senran Kagura) as a Guest Character In Tekken 8 DLC Season Expansion Pass eventually joining the next Latest game’s roster for later in the Future Planned to TK8 DLC Season Pass.

I'll try to point this out real quick without getting into a full-blown rant.
But now we see Jin getting a stance mixup after a 2,4.
Tekken 7 was very much the game where I realized that a lot more characters rely on stance mixups.
It was always increasing in small doses from T5 to T6 to Tag2 to T7 and now on the cusp of T8, I've now noticed how prevalent this is going to be.
Keeping in mind that the name of the game has switched from Tekken to Aggressive, I see this as an interesting balance opportunity to make players rely more on forcing putting your opponent in tricky situations by getting into your mixup stance or activating Heat instead of a more slower-paced, "Death By 1000 Cuts" or "Death by Long Winded Combo" approach.
    Again, remaining cautiously optimistic here.
I just hope they don't tone down the movement or execution too much to make it still rewarding to learm the finer details instead of just unga-bunga facerolling your way to victory.

Another sweet analysis video. A thing that I didn't see talked enough, is that eye glowing cd. I think it's a stance you can access from specific moves. In the trailer Jin does his traditional CD 1, but later from the eye glowing cd he does the omen tgf. So I wonder if Jin will still have his hell sweep from regular CD 🤔

i dont think devil jin will be removed entirely, but might be dlc this time around instead of a base character.
simply put jins t3 fighting style being wanted is the whole reason dvj exists, and the way the character is justified in the roster is because hes treated as a what if version of the character
of jin losing himself to the devils power at certain points in the story.
from t3 to 6 his costume never changed because its assuming he lost control ever since t3, and thats how ive always seen it.
hence why they never made a devil jin version of jin with his suit or something.
or why his t5 outfit was an alternate instead of the main one.
    little things like that.
in t7 they finally went and said this is jin specifically losing control after being captured by raven and such.
that was a long tangent but its to say that, dvj will always have a place as a what if character, and they can always enhance the dark side of the character, so while jin has a few dvj moves, they can go even further with dvj and make him a way more crazy mishima like they did with kazuya, but even more unhinged
some people mentioned doing something like sfv did with Kage/ evil ryu and make it a manifestation of the devil gene like it was its own entity.
so theres plenty of directions they could take it.

Yes but Jin uses the same word "chikara" to describe both in this context. What he says in Japanese:
      Tekken 7: Chikara koso subete
      ちからこそすべて「力こそ全て」
Tekken 8: Chikara dakega subete janai
      ちからだけがすべてじゃない「力だけが全てじゃない」
