- J.K. Dobbins lost his father far too soon in 2014.
Ohio State assistant coach Tony Alford lost his younger brother around the same time.
Tony would go on to form a bond with his star running back over their common loss.

I wish that I had a running backs coach like Coach Alford when I played. I would have been a lot better player with a lot more knowledge of the game . The players at OSU are very fortunate to have this man as their position coach.
