To be honest, I only tried it because I didn't have anything to watch, so when the title "Yatagarasu" appeared on the "recent" category, I directly decided to give it a shot because I like this mythological creature. And I'm glad I did, the first ep didn't just hooked me up, it glued me to it
I recommend Sidonia no Kishi, particularly the first season.
Thanks for the recommendations. There are so many shows I'm always looking for something new. I tend to enjoy period pieces so I'm sure these will fit just fine into my play list. Don't know if you are aware that The Elusive Samurai just started its anime series. That's going to be a ride.
I just watched Lycoris Recoil.. it's kinda like an all girl black ops team but it has a sweet side story.. it was fun.

My happy mariage was Taisho period. They got cars. :P I skipped raven only on principle that corvids put me off. Would watch if there was like ten anime per season, but if they printing them left and right, there is no way I'll ever go back.

0:36 I've recently watched it I just loved it from start to finish and I'll buy the manga or ln once I can. It's just too cute and wholesome to skip (yes it was because I was said that it was adorable that I tried it, but in the end, I also loved to learn the story behind that an the political side of the story. It's rare and even more rarely handled correctly, and yet both My Happy Marriage and Yatagarasu did it well
1:50 well The Apothecary Diaries seems less political oriented, or at least, not as much as Yatagarasu fr the start, and as you said, there's still some comedy aspect in Apothecary Diaries that isn't in Yatagarasu

To be honest, I don't think the problem is that it didn't hooked enough people. For what I've seen, every person that knows Yatagarasu that I've seen, seemed to love it. I think that it's because they don't have enough advertising to be known, a bit like Heavenly Delusion, which has a hard time to get popular despite its quality, because the streaming platform it airs on don't advertise enough (but in Yatagarasu's case it's even worse)
You got a point, advertising is definitely an important factor 🧐
Haven't watched it yet, but that's cause I'm planning to nominate it for my university's anime club watch list in fall. Everyone had a blast with Apothecary Diaries last semester, so I suspect it will do well

Check out "Taishou Otome Otogibanashi". Same time period as "My Happy Marriage", also very similar premise. I like this one a lot more.
Another anime happening in China and having "raven" in the name is: "Raven of the Inner Palace". Is quite meh, but I did like it enough.
Another banger is Oooku, though it is a lot more serious than everything else mentioned, so be prepared for that.
