Yes you’re right on the grinder blades. I switched over to steel Diamond cutting blades. A little expensive up front but they last a long time and when you’re cutting they don’t get smaller. To me that’s the only blade to use on a grinder. Yes you’re way is better, I’m talking when you have to use a grinder. I will never go back.
The somewhat new Hercules convertible bandsaw stand is what I got my eye on.
Would highly recommend the "SWAG Portaband Table - Pro Model" that includes a mounting base. I upgraded mine a few years ago just because I got tired of installing it in my shop vice. They use to sell the base as an accessory. Using a few drops of cutting oil on the blade extends its life. Great tool - mine gets a lot of use!

@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead MK Morse blades (811) - you should try these - They seem to noticeable outlast all the others - I generally put a little cutting oil on the cut line regardless of the blade manufacturer. Have fun with your saw!
Lucas: I use my trusty hacksaw. Works great and I have been using the variable speed system on it. Yep, if I am in a rush, I go fast, no rush, I take my time. I have actually been thinking about getting one, but time will tell. Take care and stay safe. PS: I still have all my fingers also.

Excellent review! I've had the SWAG portaband table with mounting base for years - it's an awesome set-up. My Bauer portaband stays mounted there. I had a second Bauer for portable use (why not at $89 on sale!), but recently got the Hercules mount for that at HF and now use that one as a horizontal band saw set up just like a chop saw - highly recommend checking that out

It has some Allen head bolts that go in the countersunk holes in the plate. 👊
