OTHER PARTS
PART 1: • When Metallica Ruled T...
PART 2: • When Metallica Ruled T... - Розваги
James wearing a Down T-Shirt , nice .
I feel sad about Jason.
I live on a tropical island he left at just the right time.
METALLICA is an awesome band, and to see all that they went through it surprises me that they are still here today, and they all overcame that and kept doing what they love and did best. METALLICA IS TRUE METAL, METALLICA IS LEGEND, METALLICA IS FOR LIFE
So they completely skipped Ride The Lighting and focus a whole part of the doc on Load, St Anger and that stupid therapy shit... I thought this was "When Metallica Ruled the World"... not "When Metallica fell apart and the music went to shit"..
Thank God Lulu wasn't released by the time this was made, then they'd probably put 15 minutes of that shit in there as well...
agreed, the entire 3rd section is about when they didn't " rule the world ". They ruled the world 82-93. As soon as they released Loaded, it was over.
Rubenick Did you notice this is part 3?
quazzie1 Yes? Hence why I stated that they waste this entire part and a bit of part 2 on Load and St. Anger...
Part 1 had a bit of Kill Em All and a bit of Master of Puppets but not a single thing about Ride the Lightning which arguably is their best album! At least that's my opinion!
Have *you* watched the other parts?
Rubenick
OK, just checking. And to be fair, you didn't mention part 2. But, no biggie.
Rubenick I agree
Jason seems like the coolest and most down to earth one of them all, thats why their band went to shit after he left lol, even if they didnt get along all the time, at least they had chemistry and made awesome songs, afterward they just kinda lost it
I actually loved the Load & Reload cd's. They changed their musical direction and i think they did the right thing.
I know this is kinda late but I just have to say that you're wrong my friend
Ray Mew load is fine but I love reload
both are crap records
David Catanus what ever you say
load and Reload are fuckin awesome
i wish on one of my job interviews when i walk into the office this happens - 10:50
somehow I feel there should be a part 4!?!?
Daniel Stensen it might be because u watched it 2015/2016, and Metallica have made new stuff by the time thats was filmes, it was in 2003 or 2004
jim breuer always looks and sounds drunk
*high
I really wanted to cry....
Metallica rules teh world, now and forever!!
(not in the gay way) BUT I FEEL YA BRO (tear drops from eye)
2019, Metallica Still Rules the World. Metal Kings. Every member.
Great documentary........But 2 things: #1. I totally agree with Metallica on the Napster thing. They were having their music pretty much stolen from them. The girl at 2:15 said, "they make so much money" as an excuse. Really? So if someone has money, it's ok to steal from them? Are you serious? If those were your songs you had poured your heart into, you'd be singing a different tune. Stop being a mooching leach, stop your whining, and buy the music like everyone else........#2. I'm totally against the band for how they treated Jason. "He left the #@%*& band". YES he left the band, because you guys treated him like crap for a decade and a half. Most people (including myself) wouldn't have put up with it nearly that long. And don't give me that you were grieving as an excuse. AC/DC and Def Leppard both lost beloved band mates very tragically, but they didn't turn on the new guy like a pack of wolves. They embraced their new member and THAT was part of their healing. Even to this day, Lars is still a total jerk about Jason. Not saying Jason necessarily handled it perfectly, but the seeds for this whole mess were planted back in 1986 by James, Lars, and Kirk. If he had been treated like a human, I think they could've very possibly worked out things with Jason and his side project. Other bands have allowed that and done fine (Genesis/Phil Collins). It's just a shame to see things like this happen. Nevertheless, really enjoyable documentary and a good life lesson on how to treat others and realize me, myself, and I are not the center of the Universe.
yesorlando05 true
yesorlando05 if Lars was reading this he could not have said this better himself
yesorlando05 they said they were trying to make Jason tough but I guess he's a sensitive guy. Jason really looked up to metallica and he wasn't expecting to be treated that way.
Dave Mustaine goes 17 times, nobody panics. James Hetfield goes once, then everyone loses their minds!!!!!
Well when Dave went into rehab first time around megadeth were still fairly underground. And also the fact that he went in 17 times it might have become like "I'm gonna get clean!" "That's nice Dave now go make me a riff" the whole old news and shit.
Rob plays it right and I hope he never leaves...He was the only thrash metal bassist to play with his fingers since Cliff and he deserves all the respect...
Metallica fans are probably the worst fans ever. They say they like their music but then they shit all over Metallica saying Lars is like the worst drummer ever. Ok..then why do you listen to their music then? Metallica fans are pretty much a disgrace. They're not sincere, true fans will love Metallica through the thick and thin but I see all these comments shitting all over the group. Good job guys
Said like a true MetallicA fan brother
+Kalvin Watters Dude, dont generalize, i dont burn Metallica CDs...
It's not generalizing I see it in every Metallica video
Well, if you think it the true fans stay and the false ones leave.
You cant judge millions of people by only seeing comments on youtube
great documentary! i've watched this many times now and its still nice to hear all of their stories again. metallica have helped me in more ways than i could ever say and they are a HUGE part of my life. thank you, metallica. i don't know what i would do without you guys in my life.
when load came out, metallica died
akiraman26 rip metallica 1981-1993
@Deadpool231 @Fraiture Both of you guys are so fucking wrong
Dead like your wife??
Can anyone tell me where is this pic (0:54) is?
i'm searching EVERYWHERE. I can't find it.
Christ Alive! This Jim Breuer dude is the most obnoxious tool I have ever seen.
***** That's the problem. He isn't funny.
Psychonis he was pretty funny on snl
Does anyone know where the footage from 2:52 where Jason gets stressed out is from? Thanks. Never seen that before.
thanks guys!all in metallica ,ive grown up with metallica and its their honesty for good or bad that shines though every time.thank you!
By the way that guy from the radio, Jim Breuer, he's also a stand up comic, that's not a joke, he is.
I've never seen 2:50 before, is there anymore footage of it?
awesome vids but who the hell is that pointdexter at 13:42?
your awesome thanks bros
What was the question of Jason To James, I couldn't understand could someone tell me please ??
The bass on Death Magnetic was phenomenal
For VH1, this was a pretty fucking decent documentary. Respect.
Man, I love this comment! Been saying the same thing for a long, long time! Things change, people change! A band not changing is a band pretty much just bullshitting, when you grow older you change as a person, that just makes it necessary for your band to evolve as well. Got an eternal love for Metallica, all their albums and a deep respect for them still standing, still playing, and still rocking.
I watched parts 1 and 2, now I'm here on part 3. I watched up until 4:34 and hit pause to write this comment. I still love Metallica, but it's really too bad that James couldn't grasp the idea of Jason going out and doing some club dates w/ Echobrain while Metallica was idle wasn't going to hurt Metallica in any way. Now we have 3 members of Metallica and what I look at is a fill in bassist in Rob. I hope the day comes when Rob is gone and Jason refills his roll as bassist. Really hope.
I get sad everytime I see Jason's leaving :(
i was never upset about the napster, just buy the CD
True!
I know right!!
"How much money does Metallica have? Do they really need more money?"
The music belongs to Metallica, and if they don't want it to be traded, then you can't fucking trade it!!
What's the song playing at 12:13?
battery s&m
Lars Ulrich sucks ?
metallica lost their music taste ?
not good ny more ?
who cares they are awesome ........metallica for life
Will always love them
What song is it at 12:12?
what's the song at 3:16?
@joonajax
It's No Leaf Clover from the 1999 S&M album, disc one...song number 08 :)
To any one who has a problem with load I'll just come out and say it until it sleeps is one of the best metallica songs ever
I'm glad that James doesn't drink as much anymore, but the drinking was actually what made his voice so amazing.
Whats the song at 6.26?
Well, it's good that James' wife gave him that ultimatum. It showed she actually cares about him, not just being a rock star's wife and enjoying the lifestyle. If so, she would've just let him keep sliding down his self-destructive spiral. Sometimes the only one who can open your eyes to how much damage you're doing is your partner in everything, in life.
anyone know the song at 9:15 ??
favorite song on load is king nothing and reload is fuel
"We still rule the world." Best James quote ever
What song was played at 6:00
"Where the Wild Things Are" from ReLoad. In `98 concerts they did awesome jams of Wild Things ua-cam.com/video/8OalaI5IAP8/v-deo.html
Which song at 3:13?
One day i wish i could meet jason if u ever met jason can u tell me what experience was like with him!
How old is this documentary? (it says it was uploaded in 2010, but you never know).
They didn't talk about their videogame, I'm sure it was a big part of their story!
Where can i see 2:52 part
Damn right, man! Cheers!
Liked Load and Reload more than 1st 2nd and 5th albums... straight. up.
Atleast you're honest
that's a tough one... Justice is heavier and more intricate plus it's got more tracks but Puppets has it's own unique and nostalgic vibe. Two of their best albums for sure, though.
daaaaaaaamn you told me! like how will I ever go on after such a devastating blow?!
Akiachrounoumena there it still hope. listen to ride the lightning and master of puppets in a row and you might be able to save your dying brain cells from your shit taste of music
whats the song at 1212
I love Load & Reload idgaf what people say
Did you check your keyboard?
i wonder if they let rob put some hardcore bass lines and ideas of lyrics and ideas to their songs, and that james will bring back the sound of the master of puppet, ride the lightning albums. peace.
just in case you're still wondering, and for the people that will ask later on, it's battery S&M
Lars: "I'm prepared for the Worst!"
Somekind of Monster starts
HAHAHAHAHA
@thash1127
3:20 is Phantom Lord and 3:30 is The Struggle Within :)
What song sounds in the bottom in 12:18
+Alan Leon lml It's the symphonic version of Battery from the S&M live album
Still waiting for the good times :D
I LOVE THE SONG BLEEDING ME
4 masterpieces before it
Don't diss Death Magnetic, that album kicks ass.
St. Anger wasn't like a Grammy chart topper. But it does show what they went through and some of the lyrics tell it. Releasing that album allowed them to say, "Now let's really get our Fucking shit together". I love their new album, reminds me of the Black Album and Load. And James is like really freaking singing and the riffs are crazier.
@444Metallica
ReLoad is my favourite album! :)
5:19 the bad guy from Moonraker appears
All those fans crying about Metallica standing up to Napster saying hey your not taking our music for free and how quick they turn their backs on the band amazed me
Whats the song in 09:52 ?
My world
Thank you
the metal police pull over hahaha thats creased me james
6:24 XD
While I can understand why Metallica "went after" Napster, I'm not really sure why it was such a big deal
i really love themmmm my favorite band but i know there's nothing intresting after the black album ,there live shows are not the same since 1993 they were willllldddd man !!! but i still bang my head when i listen to " creepin' death " hhhhhh i can't understand how it happening they still rolling the hell of me man !!!! \m/,
Youre so wrong. Their recent live shows have been super kickass
I’d be pretty pissed if a website was taken my music and trading it
what is worse than leaving Metallica..? Leaving Metallica because of Echobrain :-)
I was never an Echobrain fan, but I see why Jason did that. If you're being treated like shit for the majority of the time, and your musical input is being ignored, it kinda makes sense to do your own thing.
Hell yes. =P Metallica is one of the main influences I had to start writing my own music. And I'm just trying to be defensive toward st.Anger and other Metallica albums that are "crappy...I just hate people that are so narrow minded that they can't even appreciate bands and albums for going out on a limb and trying something new. Cause if I'm being honest, I don't like half the songs on St.Anger, but I still listen to them and respect the effort put forth into making them.
Man why do I live in this time and not the great 80s?
I love Metallica, no matter what happens. Sue napster, go to rehab, I don't care.
"We Still Rule the World." -James Hetfield
That is so true ;D
I love Metallica the old metallic and the new Metallica they are all around awesome 🤘
which is the song at 7:08
The Unforgiven II
THIS IS A MESSAGE TO DAVE MUSTAINE:Stop disliking Metallica vids.We know you are the one who disliked this video.
Love Metallica, yes every band makes albums , that offend or makes people not like ´em for some reasons, even Metallica....i respect them for doing what they´ve done even i don´t like everything
I don't think they were saying Jason being in the band was a mistake. I think they meant they weren't gonna make the same mistakes they made before, how they treated Jason like shit & whatnot. They wanted to treat Rob as an immediate equal & not put him through all the crap they put Jason through. At least that's what I got from it.
@Drummer891342 He said "Dude you cant be in band with me if i do Echobrain (another band) right?".
I agree with Rob, it has to be nice to join a band and not step in any ones shit.
Hey dont blame Robert It was Jason who decided to leave but hey theres no doubt that when Jason left they didnt look the same ,but hey Robert isnt that bad he does his best on not boring me!!!
then they released DEATH MAGNETIC!!!!!! (Q the 'That Was Just Your Life" riff haha)
metallica deserves what it has.all of them do.they worked hard to get where they are now.all the bullshit they had to go through.and in the end they overcame it.good for them.i give them my best wishes.forever metallica \m/
JAMES ALAN HETFIELD
03 DE AGOSTO DE 19(6)3
60 AÑOS. (61)
GUITARIST AND SINGER OF METALLICA.
🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝
i have nothing against rob but i hope they would've invite jason back to play the bass before they even started for looking another bass player
I love Metallica, and Load-St Anger I think are awesome. The image change and Napster were bad ideas, and while Lulu was an interesting concept, it didnt turn out well.
Metallica Is Not The Same Without Jason Newstead And Metallica Should Have Given Him Some Respect
hey guyz r u mad we love metallica we r the true fans of metallica
we r the greatest support for them
where iz that spirit of metalica fans
They still rule the world
I feel sorry for cliff death and his family but also feel bad for Jason because he fulfilled that emptiness and sadness when the band most needed I think that they need to apologize to him before is too late and why not welcome him again to the band.
one more I doesn't hurt any body ( budget ) it actually helps more
JULIO BASULTO it's kinda hard to agree with that because they were merciless with Jason. They bashed on him, treating him like he was just trash. He was a punching bag, and Jason had just had just had enough of it.
They lost a lot of real fans after Load. And I was one of them...
personaly, I see nothing wrong with load or reload and ESPICIALY st. anger. personaly, st.anger is one of my favorite albums but just my crappy opinion
what made it worse is that the shows sucked balls after the black album tour so even if you wanted to go to their shows and listen to the songs you do like you couldn't even do that since they sucked live after 1993
If you got lost after that, you were never really a "real fan" to begin with.
guess what , there is no such thing as a "real" fan you moron.
Love Metallica! If I were them, I wouldn't have the guts to start a new album after what happened during the album load.
there is not old or new Metallica there is only METALLICA!
Jason were pushed away like Lars says. they (metallica) should had take him back.....
I don't even, that has nothing to do with what I said, it was the people who were destroying their albums and stuff after the whole napster ordeal
yeah st anger wasnt the best album of them but when you consider what they had gone through the lyrics speaks of their lives.
