The Kpop generation after BTS DNA is called 4th gen, so start of 2018. Most of the groups came from survival shows were dancing was a must, or were trainees for years... and at that time Kpop started getting global audience thanks to BTS Worldwide recognition. The bar has been risen especially performance wise, i do feel like for a lot of groups their labels focused more on the choreo and performance than song itself, so a lot of times its not weather other groups will dance ass well its more like will they be able to bring the charisma, energy and vocals during live performances. One group that manages to do this would be ATEEZ.
Two of my favourite BTS dance practices are 'Fire'....Jungkook jumping back between the others without looking just amazes me every time I watch it. The other is 'Butterfly' it's so elegant it's beautiful. They are the opposite of each other as one is fast paced and the other is slower.💜

understandable, but being human we do compare groups and other peoples artistic performances, it's okay. being that bts is just so great musically, very detailed, synchronized and has over the 'top productions, it will and is hard for other entertainers to be at their level of excellence. Jungkook for me always makes choreography different because he hitting every single moves with full of energy and confidence! He gave it all!
Watch what you want to watch. It will be impossible to avoid comparing everyone to BTS. They set the standard. There are lots of excellent K-pop idols out there. Taeyang looked pretty interesting.

BTS is my first group that I discovered kpop through and after 2 years what can I say I'm still discovering BTS because this is soooo much content...maybe I can discover some other groups in a few years 😅🙈

Jimin is good friends with another famous kpop artist Taemin who is very well known for his dancing (been called the MJ of k-pop). Jimin and Taemin have done a performance together before, you can watch that. Taemin's dance practice vid for his song Move is so smooth and satisfying.

Reacting to other K-Pop artists is definitly worth it. There is so much talent in so many different groups so Im sure you will enjoy alot of them specifically since dancing is a huge part of the K-pop industry.
I honestly can’t really get into other groups because BTS has spoiled me.
I can’t wait to check out some others but like I said I have to watch with a clean mind and never compare because I think it will ruin the experience for me if I compare

I knew them since debut. Just listened to few of their songs because i was not really into hiphop back then. In 2016 i became casual listener to bts and want to know more about them but DNA is what really got me into the fandom 💜
I am BTS ARMY but we know that all idols train for years in singing and dancing before they debut, so you will see lots of great skills in all groups. So if you are only into dance than you won't be disappointed.
BUT, when it comes to songwriting, producing, lyrics and musicality, no other group is even close. There is a reason BTS is at the top and that is mainly because they don't need to rely on visuals or concepts to carry the group.
I will recommend one dance performance by another idol, and that is Hyunjin's Artist of the Month for Studio Choom channel performance (Motley Crew cover). He is from the group Stray Kids and is a great dancer. You will love it.
Keep coming back to our BTS though!💜

BTS are my main loves, I have been ARMY for over 4 years. I am 55 years old so a #dopeoldarmy as Joon calls us. I am also enjoying Stray Kids as well. They have a different style to BTS and I appreciate their talent as well.
It took me 2 yrs to want to branch out to other Kpop groups. The only reason I did is because I kept seeing the MV for Deja Vu by Ateez pop up so I watched it. And that was that! Now I'm Army and Atiny. Next to BTS, Ateez are some of the best performers live. Both groups captivate you when you're watching them.

I love the MV for this... and well all the MVs. They put in so much into the visual as much as into dancing. This was their first performance on Billboards, I think. Or was it American Music Awards?? Well, first in US! I love watching some of their behind the scenes. They were so nervous!! And for all the US shows, they try so hard to practice their English, and typically don't end up saying what they practiced, and are always bummed LOL

Watch the dance practice for Ten's song Birthday. He actually looks like there are strings holding him up in parts because gravity apparently means nothing to him. He's one of the best dancers in K-pop today. Kai and Taemin are also both great. Jimin and Taemin did a performance together that was fantastic called Showdown.

All the kpop groups have their strengths and their own flavor. For me, it is BTS' variety of songs and their lyrics that set them apart from the other groups. There are some groups that are known for their fierce dancing, some for their visuals (the performances, clothing, sets). I think you will enjoy discovering them.

If you truly feel the need to branch out (though I'm not convinced that anyone does after finding BTS 😆), I would suggest Mamamoo. Décalcomanie (Dance version) is a good place to start. Like BTS, they really don't have skippable songs in their discography.

I gave other groups a try, but they just didn't hit me with any feels, unfortunately. Also, BTS are known for their very deep lyrics, while a lot of other groups, especially those not under HYBE/BigHit, just don't have lyric substance (in my opinion) and 'bubblegum pop' is a huge no for me, which a lot of girl groups tend to focus on (especially in their older songs) but if I was to recommend a group, I'd say Purple Kiss (a girl group) because they have a hand in writing and producing their music (a rare thing in Kpop) and also have a hand in choreographing their dances 💜💜
