Fun Fact: In the original Naruto manga, Neji was supposed to have a swastika symbol or in Japan it is called a manji on his forehead, but the design in the anime was changed because the symbol felt a little like the German version of the swastika during the Second World War

To rephrase this a little, in Buddhism there is a symbol called the Manji. This was taken and tilted during WWII from the Nazi's. You can identify the difference between the two with how it is tilted, but yes I can see why they were skeptical and removed it for American audiences as they wouldn't get this. Even in today's modern times, this exact confusion happened with Tokyo Revengers

@@tx6723 I watched it when I was 12 and this shit blew my fucking mind... First Ep alone and its outro got me invested DEEPLY. It was technically the 3rd I watched, but it was conciously the first I ever paid true attention to.
I honestly forgot how much of a slow-burn Land of Waves final fight really was. The yapping levels were crazy for a fight between superhuman Ninjas.
*Chunnin exams do all the battles for each characters to introduce all their jutsu one by one.

Maybe slow pace really not his cup of tea😂 naruto really takes their time to introduce people in long episodes lol. Don't worry guys you will know everything about them, even the villain, even side characters, it just takes a long time and that's what makes me attached to these characters, cuz they weren't just get introduced, died and being forgotten in the next episode like other modern anime that did everything so fast. But that's okay it just different preferences. Also don't worry you'll see more of jiraya after this and also in shippuden. Most of naruto fans love jiraya tho!

Neji is by far the most interesting character of original Naruto imo. And when I say Neji, I mean just this kind of Neji - serious, honest, tough beyond his years, even rough sometimes, strong and extremely determined. A perfectly written male character💪🏻
I mean there should be a bit more dimension to a “perfectly written” male character, realistically men have more dynamic emotions than “serious” and “tough”. Shippuden Naruto to me is a perfectly written male character, he has struggles and we actually see their effects on his emotions

Everyone is always impressed with Naruto’s clones because the technique he uses (Shadow clonee jutsu) makes actual clones where as the jutsu they have to do to graduate (Clone jutsu) acts more as an illusion.
The backstories of characters will gradually unfold throughout the entire series: OG and Shippuden...

@@wasabilai9405 Early Shippuden Sakura goated, mid sakura ruined all the good reputation she's earned not cuz Kishi doesn't know how to write good females, he chose to make her sht by reverting to he all about Sasuke "characteristic", then he tried saving her character again towards the end but it was too late as he already screwed her over badly.

Which in all honesty I never could have guessed would've ever happened considering how much I despised her in Part 1. Mid Shippuden brought me back to being her #1 Hater tho.
Carter's feelings on Naruto are understandable tbh. During my first watch through I remember thinking that Sasuke was a much better character for most of the first two arcs, but the Chunin Exams, and especially these next few episodes really elevated his character for me. Honestly I kind of like that his character was a slow burn for me because it felt like I actually grew more attached to him as I watched him grow, which is kind of what happens for most characters around him. Naruto is now easily my favorite in the show, but he definitely takes a little time to grow on you.

From this fight I was crazy seated for Naruto.... This arc drags a bit too long for my liking (its fire and fast in the manga)... But man when the first episode of the next arc starts...!!!.
Anyway.. You might find it loud for now.. But Naruto and his positivity is one for the ages... He is a MC popular media needs to go back to doing...

I strongly recommend you to wait with watching one piece. If you think that one naruto is slow passed, boy one piece is 100 times worse. There is going to be remake of the anime soon and it’s going to follow more closely to the manga and because there is more material available now the pacing will be way better. So I highly recommend you to wait for when that one comes out. The remake is still going to keep the same VA so there is no need to worry about that. It’s like hunterxhunter 2009 which is a remake anime from the 90s but the 2009 followed the manga more closely (followed with better pacing) which you guys clearly enjoyed.

I love Carter lol hating on Sakura is so over rated bcz just like him I actually don't understand why ppl hate sakura. Matter of fact she's the most relatable character in naruto series she makes mistakes she has complicated feelings and sometimes don't know how to get around it. She does not come from a special clan like ino, sasuke and the rest she doesn't have supernatural powers like naruto. She represents a normal shinobi. And ppl make it a point comparing her to lee but don't understand that lee has a purpose he cannot weild chakra he has been looked down upon like naruto and that's his whole motivation to prove ppl wrong. Sakura on the other hand comes from a normal family was a normal child she doesn't have to push any hard bcz there's no additional reason yet. Hating on her is just a trend if you do not hate her you're uncool lol

I think the critique of Sakura I can get behind is how her main character trait is how she relates to the boys in her life, primarily with Sasuke and her crush on him but also with Naruto and how she works hard to keep up with them rather than doing it for herself or the village. It's perfectly fine for that to be her main flaw, but it just goes a bit overboard at times.

The main problem is her character (as a person) getting nerfed anytime Sasuke is mentioned. She's booksmart, but the only time that's an advantage is when explaining things to Naruto and the audience. She has good Chakra control but never ventured to explore that or improve upon that i.e chakra exercises or genjutsu (yes Sasuke is there for that but not a single one in Gais team stopped learning Taijutsu because Lee existed). She's seemingly so in love with Sasuke but is really in love with the image of him being cooler and stronger than anyone else. In the same way, Temari talks about Gaara and the same way Ten Ten talks about Neji without considering the ability of their opponents, holding them both on a pedestal for different reasons, of course. She has 2 seconds of empathy for Naruto only to go back to treating him the same way. She saw Sasuke nearly die and still view him as an immovable force even though that event would realistically make room for them to bond as characters. She also never pursues anything seriously and is selfish...all that to say she's practically just an ordinary 12 year old. Even after all of her experiences, the only moment of character growth we got from her was in the Chunin exams. We saw how the mission impacted both Sasuke and Naruto, but nothing for Sakura?
It just all comes down to her character writing and seemingly non-existent growth. It doesn't make sense to only see her as a bubble wrapped 12 year old because she's had experiences to contradict that up until this point.
@@cloudwatcher608 For sure a valid point indeed critiques like this are the best they know what they're talking about and exactly just like I said before her character doesn't have any motivation to get ahead and be strong and thus seeing naruto and sasuke in pain ends up becoming her only motivation tho kishimoto have always lacked in building up female characters specially in og naruto but the ppl who have seen the whole series including boruto and canon novels her character is the best among other kunoichis power levels and practical uses just outmatched to other kunoichis ifykwim

That's why it's good to watch the edited version of Naruto, and One Pace for One Piece.
Waiting for a week and getting a boom update is really worth it, but it still feels like it's not enough😭😭
They post 4 episodes, which is even less episodes than other channels post weekly. I just hope that in the near future they start dropping more episodes, since they started doing reactions full time
Neji is such a good character imo this fight really showcases that and no matter what anyone says his philosophy was right
this fight is really important for naruto. in the first arc he realised that there is more to life and ninjahood than what he initially thought, that the system is the blame for some of the evils coming out of it, that maybe there are things to fix. in this fight he sees for the first time how it affected his peers, people close to him. you said neji doesn't seem like a hero here, that's because he wasn't, he's an antagonist in this arc and his mindset gets challenged. he wanted to get out of that cage from the start, but he found that he couldn't so he labeled others as failures. naruto tries to understand why he is this way, and he sees the problem with this generations-long tradition, how can the hokage let this happen? this is the first time he decides to change something. it's very significant because he does change something just by listening too, hiashi apologizes to neji, which is a big thing. that's also why neji is quite important to the story too, he is a big stepping stone in naruto's ideology.

I keep seeing everyone trying to say to hang in there but to be honest i enjoyed this show weel before this arc, and seeing you guys not really enjoy it doesnt really make me excited to watch with you guys. Why would i come and be excited to see you guys not enjoy the show i grew up with and love

I love Gaara's character development. Seeing the pure relationship between Lee and Gai causes major breaks in his character. He is one of the many characters whose story will be told very well in the following episodes. keep watching this show guys :)

I too feel kindda bored of these early episodes...
One thing that we have to remember is that Naruto was animated while the manga was being made so there’s ALOT of filler and yapping that’s why I prefer watching it dubbed because there’s a lot of talking and the dub just takes off that extra effort of having to read subtitles and sometimes with subs they can go too fast and you miss some of really good/important bits.
I know you guys have already started it and got halfway through in Japanese but if you’re genuinely finding it a little slow maybe swap over it’s totally worth it and makes it easier for you guys to sit back and relax through some of the yapping and tbh I think Naruto was actually one of the few that was well dubbed. I really hope the pacing doesn’t taint the experience for you guys that’s why I recommend dub it’s easier to understand the story as well I know you want the ‘true’ ‘authentic’ Japanese experience but sometimes especially with Naruto it isn’t always necessary or best.

Guys, just focus on Naruto right now and pause on One Piece for now. The OG Naruto will be over before you know it and Shippuden is just heat till the end (when you skip the fillers) - but you will need to watch OG Naruto first to get the backstory, and you will be much more invested in the characters in Shippuden with this foundational knowledge lol - also Carter yes, Hinata annoys me too and does till the very end, I equate her to Naruto's stalker lol
The first thing I've seen from this show was this damn fight. At the end. So i knew Naruto had a strong left. And when I actually got to watch Naruto i was like "why does this look familiar?"

Just to explain a bit of Naruto lore without spoiling:
Naruto turning into a girl is explained by the whole shinto fox mythology, where the Fox spirit(s) (also seen in A:tla btw) are depicted as female and since his sexy jutsu chakra comes from the Fox, it takes its feminine essence. His natural chakra is the source of the shadow clone jutsu.
I liked Naruto more than Sasuke from the beginning...

I cant think of a single person around me who didn't go though the same experience - hate Naruto's slow pace, being bored with how slow the world building is and then get to shippuden and begin the new epic journey where finally all the plots started in nary become interesting. U will see... there is a reason that Naruto is in top 3... U will also get attached to the characters don't worry

Sasuke and Lee are my favorites as well. Without Sasuke I wouldn’t have even completed the show to the very end. I don’t hate Sakura either. She’s supposed to be the normal one.
