I wish this video was longer. I have yet to learn how to read crocheting but i really want to make this blanket for my son, trying so hard to learn right now. Thank you for getting me started !!
I made this in black and white for my granddaughter who loves real spiders!! It's Almost 6 ft across and so gorgeous !!! Thank you for all your directions 🤗💞
👋🏻 Hi, I am also doing it in black and white because my child loves spiders too lol.
I finished the pattern but not sure how to continue to make it larger. I am really new to crochet 6 months to be exact lol.
Can you help? After row 16 where do I go? I would greatly appreciate the help.
Thank you! You have made this video so clear and easy to follow! I’m actually doing this pattern in dark purple and black twinkle! My daughter’s favorite holiday is Halloween!
This is the first thing I ever crocheted in my adult life (I only did one random square as a child) and somehow I did it. I don't know how I managed but I did. Thank you for the how to!
I am so glad you made this video!! Firstly, I am a beginner at crochet but I think I'm picking it up rather quickly. I never gave myself credit to reading patterns before and they honestly seem like cave drawings haha, so thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone when finishing this blanket!! I feel like I've gained a lot of knowledge from your video.
You are an amazing instructor - very easy to learn from you. I just wish you'd show us how to do more on these videos and not stop so soon. Some of us need a little bit more to get it down.
Just finished this project - Thank you so much for posting this!!! I have a 5 year old nephew who is into Super Hero's...guess what he's getting for his birthday next month!! I will be the BEST Auntie ever!! Pattern works up quickly, and once you explained repeating the rows, it was easy to follow the pattern after that!
Thank you for getting me started! ☺️ I’m gonna have to freestyle the rest of my blanket. Crochet patterns confuse me
So glad you made this tutorial. This blanket is on my to-do list as a Christmas gift for an amazing 7 year old. Also, thank you for clearly demystifying reading a chart.
Thank you for your tutorial. I did mine in red and black and it turned out beautifully. My grandson loves his afghan 😊
Hi
My grandson will love this for Christmas you do A awesome job in explaining how to read pattering Believe it or not I did not know how to read a pattern but by your demonstrating your version of the pattering makes it easier to understand I am learning on how to read a pattern thank you for teaching every lesson

Hi I am just learning how to read a pattern you explain very nicely but I still ñeed more help .
Oh I think this is cute! I think it'd be cute with just black and white for Halloween or pick your kids (or yours) favorite colors.
I have loved Mike's tutorials since I discovered him .currently making spiderman blanket he teaches so well and a great pace .Best wishes
Oh Lord! I may have forgotten to breathe when I got the notification for this video ❤ This is just perfect...
I made this for my son 2 Christmas ago and put with Spider-Man pajamas. He loved it got pattern at Jo- Ann fabrics
Thank you for the tutorial! I’ll be using #4 yarn. The craft stores by me didn’t have race car red and I really want it to be bright!
I have made my spider man blanket and very happy with it
Oh my goodness... I know 3 little boys who would be super happy with this. :) ;)
I'm gonna crochet this for my brother his birthday is this Sunday but I want to finish it by Saturday since that's when his party is wish me luck!! I'll update when i finish!!
@@meowmasterfefe yup! He loved it!! i honestly forgot about this comment...
Thank you for this tutorial! It also really helped me to understand how to read the pattern!
Thanks so much for this video! I just made my first crochet blanket for my nephew. You make it so much easier to follow the pattern diagram
Gonna make this as a Christmas present for my cat. She's 8 years old and handled moving to the mountains like a champ. Making mine in all blue with grey heather trim. It's been years since I gave her a Christmas gift since I haven't been spending it with her for a good number of years, but we share a room now, so I'd say it's time she got a Christmas gift from me.
Sounds to me you are doing a gift with a lot of yarn and goodwill for kindness. We need more people like you. :D
@@TheCrochetCrowd Update:
I lost the original blanket and started on a new one in blue and red, but without the white. I put my progress in one of her favorite spots to nap on my bed. She investigated the blanket and refuses to even sit on it. Since she doesn't want it, I think I'll be keeping it for myself and making it bigger.
@@TheCrochetCrowd Another Update:
Back when I was working on it, I left it in front of my pillow. She fell in love with it while I was running errands. Gave it to her as a Christmas gift and she loved it. However, we have since moved. Now she only hangs out on my bed and only spends time on her blanket while she's eating as her food and water bowls are right next to said blanket.
Thank you for sharing this! This is my new favorite blanket! I made a Halloween one too and it’s gorgeous! ❤️
This looks like it'll build up really fast cause of how chunky the yarn is. Also very warm. I showed this to my friend and he said he wanted it so I guess this'll be a Christmas gift. :P
I may try this with #4 yarn. I need to work with the yarn I have in my stash. My grandson would love this. I'm sure the blanket yarn would work up faster.
I think you made another touchdown Mikey I love this so much
Just finished my blanket thank you for this video
I'm making this with #4 yarn. Got to use my stash.
Thank you very much Mikey for a great tutorial! I can’t wait to try this one!
I'm doing mine with a black web.So its Royal blue, racecar red, and black webbing😉 Looks great. You're a terrific instructor. I'm caught up on my Flora CAL so I'm knocking out 4 of these for some of my grandsons Christmas presents.🥰🥰🥰
How am I supposed to make this project bigger than just the 16 rounds? I'm not sure how to make the pattern bigger in size. Please help!
Thanks so much for this tutorial. I'm new to crocheting but so far it's coming together well. Especially appreciate the help reading the pattern, I'm currently on row 11 and it's looking good. 🤗
Hola
Termine la manta gracias a usted por enseñarnos tan bien, siga haciendo más vídeos
Thanks
can't wait to make this for my son....
absolutely love your tutorials, Mikey!
Thank you, fantastic tutorial
I'm going to try this using 2 strands of a chunky yarn.

Love this !!
i really wish u did the blanket all the way till it was done im only on row 7 and having a hard time because u didnt do row 7 all the way around so i knew if i was doing it right lol but im trying

This is great! Thank you :)
Very very nice you do such great work and easy to follow can you do it to Tutorial for a captain America blanket
Greetings from South Africa 💖 I am using only 2 colours for this blanket I wish to attempt. Does it make a difference if I do the single crochet row every 4 rows that I dont get confused.. I love 💕 this blanket. Thank you for a great tutorial 💕 and well explained. Take care😊
I have learned a lot from you thank you for your videos. Can you do a Batman one.
I would like to add another 3 rounds of crochet and then the final trim, but I’m unsure how to figure out how many stitches I would need. Can you help me?
I was wondering if I could use red heart yarn. Not as bulky. And still follow your lovely pattern?
Yes, just change your hook to match the sizing recommended on the ball band.
If your wanting to do this with redheart with love yarn many ball's do you need really beauitful blanket 😀
Valerie Friel I'm making one in bernat and one in Caron (1 lb skein) I bought 1 of each color in Caron and am using a 6.5mm hook and am just going until I run out of yarn or I reach 55" in diameter. Since I also make spiderman dolls I'm not worried about having extra yarn but I'll try to remember to post how much I used.
idk how to crochet but i will learn for spiderman blanket
This is an easy level crochet project which is a step up from a beginner level. So just keep that in mind.
I don't know how to read this pattern. I followed along, but was left very confused as to what to do. So had to take it apart and try a different one.
bellisimo
Hello Mikey is there a way I can get the hole pattern ? I'm trying to make this Spiderweb Blanket for my great nice I love this pattern. I have the graphic chart and I got as far as the 16th row then I get confused because I have dyslexia and I don't compute things if I don't see them. I would love to make a 12 start blanket instead of a 8 star blanket. Thank you for sharing a great pattern
Robbie Truedale I am also having the same issue. I went to row 16 and I would like to add two more rows, but I am feeling a bit lost. I am relatively new to crocheting and I am attempting to write the pattern myself but I am getting a bit lost. I would really like some help adding another blue and red section past row 16. Can anyone help out?
Could you continue the web white around the back in a line to make it reversible?
I'm following video but fourth row does not look like yours I'm doing exact same thing what am I doing wrong??
I know this is a 7 year old video but to anyone who made it, how many balls of yarn did it take? If you’re using the semi-chunky yarn, how many in each color?
How many balls of red and blue do I need
Hi! I wanted to ask around how many of the Bernat baby blanket yard should I use. I want the softness of the yarn but not as chunky as regular Bernat blanket. Thank you so much!
Graciassssssssssssssss
Just got done with this and made few changes luks amazing to me Thanks for sharing this pattern but I would like to share my blanket pic how can I do that?
OUr Facebook Page is available for show'n tell under The Crochet Crowd.
How to Crochet - The Crochet Crowd thanks once again! just uploaded the pic!
Could u use redheart super saver ?
😍😍😘😘
If you use a different kind of yarn can you still get the desired effect? With thinner yarn it will need more skeins?
Can I use Red Heart super saver number 4 weight to make this blanket?
Would it be the same pattern for worsted weight yarn. I’m thinking where it’s not chunky yarn I wld have to do more rows of color, right cause it’s not gonna grow like the chunky will. Please help
Hi, Has anyone tried this with a thinner yarn and smaller hook? I can't get this Yarn in Ireland but i'd love yo make this for my son. Thanks.
Thank you very much for your reply. I'll give it a go and see how I get on. I think my little man will be very happy. Thank you for the tutorial.
I'm working on one now with Red Heart yarn, 4 ply, and it looks great. Just adjust the hook size.
have u done a solid color for this pattern? and with lighter yarn do u think it'll look about the same?
The pattern and what you’re doing for row five are completely different. This is very confusing to me. The pattern says for row five to do only two double crochet, chain 2, two double crochet. It’s just completely different.
@@ediecerniglia-witner5297 I noticed that too. I can’t figure out what the pattern wants me to do. It seems like I should single crochet into the space that he just skips. Not sure what to do
Mikey! HELP PLEASE..PLEASE HELP! :'(
I'M WATCHING YOUR VIDEO ON THE ..It's light green to dark.. white..dark purple to light..white..etc. Was given pattern(online) for Spiderman blanket. However a written out.. confusing! Was told to follow your video I mentioned. Doing great however adding the black line( sc) between red& blue I'm stuck! Just found this video not quite the same as other pattern. Can you help me..I need this...for CHRISTMAS =-O
By the way..just started crochet again after many MANY yrs and you've made almost everything Soo easy. Lol stuck need to undressed a cpl small points out(following the pattern I mentioned just not sure where a cpl things are actually connected. I'm making it hard in fear to messing it up. I'll search for a diff video to make it clear..once I SEE it i get it B-) your AMAZING!
Wait, is how he changed colors how you're SUPPOSED to change colors, or just for this video? Because my mother taught me to just tie it to your previous color, cut that color off, and then continue with the new one.
Usually you don't tie the strings together. But do what you know and feel comfortable with.
There is no RIGHT way. I've seen it done many different ways. I always tie mine, but I then blend it in. Everyone does it differently.
I really want to make a few of these for a friend, but i am having issues with finding this particular yarn in all the colors I need. Is there an equivalent to this particular yarn that would look good for Spiderman colors?
I'm sure as this is a Chunky #6 weight yarn. That may be helpful to know. You are looking for a Chenille based yarn.
I'm a big fan of crochet, but do you take requests like people asking you to show them how to crochet?
Turtle Head if you look through all their videos you will find every video you need to learn how to crochet :)
Hello Mikey I'm crocheting this pattern 4 ply can this pattern go father than 16 rows ?
Could you use 14 oz yarn??
I wanna make a poncho like this...can anyone tell me how to make something like this as a poncho?
Can u use any yarn
yes, pretty much. Just look at the ball band and match the recommendation hook size.
I would love a diagram pattern. is there one and how can I get it if so? Please
I believe there is a link in the video description that will forward you to the pattern. I cannot remember off the top of my head if they did a diagram for this or not. But if they have, it should be on the pattern itself. - Michael
I looked before texting you the first time, Thank you darn ( It would be nice to have the 1 Miky used in the video
I found the diagram pattern yay yay . this looks so easy to follow. thank you
Robbie Truedale help where did you find the pattern, do you have a link or a name for the exact pattern. I was trying to make Spiderman blanket..bouncing between snort if Mikeys videos and a Spiderman pattern by someone else. I'm stuck at adding the black sc Webb between red& blue ..I I I I I ! Be grateful for the help. I think you understand my plight B-)
I'm not sure where I went wrong. On line 9 I have 6 dc going up (skipping the 2 bottom loops). You show I should have 5 ugh
Bernat Blanket can hide stitches due to the fluff. It may not be your fault if you cannot see exactly where to go.
If I find my web sort of domes, would the problem be my tension too tight?
@@TheCrochetCrowd thank you so much for replying :) I'm making it for a 4 year old so I don't think he'll mind if it's a bit squiffy this time! but good to know for future.
How much meters or grams of yarn do i need?
The pattern is linked int he video description. It's how our videos work here. Just go click the link and you and you can get all details like that instantly. :D Please enjoy.
I’m a entire beginner I just learned to do a granny square 3 days ago and from this Tutorial I’ve made it to row 7 but I’m very thrown off by you saying single crochet and then doing what I believe is a double crochet. I may be confused on my terms? Can someone confirm or correct me? I don’t want to have to restart 😩
it's very possible that my mouth is doing opposite to what my hands are doing. In watching the camera, doing the work and so forth, it may just be me mispronouncing the stitch. I'm sorry about that.
@@TheCrochetCrowdthe highlighted chains in the picture are what’s going into the center point right? The 2,1,2,1? Sorry I have to have extra direction. I just finished the row 8 and finished the ones you showed doing and the fact you interact and answer questions in your comment are insanely helpful!
Can I use different yarn if I wish?
Yes, you can use the yarn of choice. Just make sure the hook size matches your yarn. It will tell you on the ball band the recommended hook size for that yarn.
How much yarn is in that skein?
What size is the ball of yarn? my local yarn shop (here in the UK) stocks this yarn but only 300g balls.
can i use a different kind of yarn but still use the same pattern?
Yes for sure... just ensure the yarn recommendation hook size is followed. It will prevent buckling then. :D
I used smaller yarn, and a smaller hook - it looks great. Just adjust your hook to your yarn.
i cant read the chart cant y put the whole pattern on video .Iam beginner or can some one give me the pattern plz .I have to grandson plz.
If you look at the complete video description of our videos, where I am using a free pattern, which is almost our entire collection, there is a link to access the free pattern. Just simply look at the video description and it's there. :D
Hello, the link to the pattern is taking me to a plaid pattern. I tried searching your website for the pattern but I'm not seeing it
I'm doing a website update. It's 10:30 pm now... Give me 5 minutes and I will put it back. We are expediting any requests like this. :)
question, does anyone know how many balls of yarn I need when I'm using Caron Simply soft(using Blue and black)? please and thank you
I'm not sure... The gauge of the yarn is completely different than this. This is Super Bulky Yarn and Caron Simply Soft is Medium Weight.
CandySkitty I would double the amount of yarn to be safe since simply soft is thinner than the average 4 ply.
Anyone else having issues after row 12? This is my third attempt at this blanket and I seriously have no idea what I'm doing wrong😫😫😫😫
Link to written pattern doesn’t seem to work? Has Yarnspirations removed it from their website?
I'll check... It was originally on JOANN website where it was linked. I'll check now.
I tried the links I provided. They work, including going to the pattern. I'm unsure why the links are working for you. I'm sorry, I don't have an answer.
Disculpa a podrias habkar en castellano o subtitulo por favor
do i relp roll 5 step than do roll 9
Yes... you have to go back and begin Row 5 again to repeat the pattern.
So round 9 is like row 5? That was exactly my question. I think I have too many stitches in tow 9 but without a stitch count I dont know..🙄 Frogging and doing row 9 again and just going by looks
@@Me-dc9vr I just figured mine out if you ever revisit this project my mess up was not skipping enough stitches in the dip ins! You should only have 4 doubles going up and 4 going down on row 9 not counting the point stitches
