    Today I'll show you how to move smoothly on the piano keyboard, and demonstrate several progressions with smooth voice leading. The secret is to minimize the motion of the individual notes, and make sure the notes move by a semitone or a whole tone at most when you switch between chords. As we discuss this I'll draw from a few popular examples, including This Love by Maroon 5, Short People by Randy Newman, and Blackbird by The Beatles.

    What beautiful piano patch is this??? I have to know 😭💖

      It's the "Piano Cake MW" patch on my Nord Stage 3.
      There are plenty of lush sounding VSTs out there that can very likely achieve something similar (e.g. AudioLounge Key Affairs - not affiliated with them in any way, FYI).

    Mangol Is it possible to resolve from V to III theoretically ? Both are Majors

    • @MangoldProject
      @MangoldProject  5 місяців тому +1

      It's possible to move from V to III, but III in itself doesn't sound like a conclusion, and it sounds like additional chords should follow it. For example: V --> III --> vi.

    Can we write D also like f# add13b omit5 ?

    • @MangoldProject
      @MangoldProject  5 місяців тому +1

      That is the weirdest notation I've ever seen for D, and likely not something you would see. You could say that F# half diminished is a rootless D9, for example. But your notation is way too complicated.

    Which mode is this piano being played

    • @MangoldProject
      @MangoldProject  5 місяців тому

      Are you asking what sound I'm using? It's an electric piano on a Nord Stage 3 (Piano Cake MW if you want the exact name).
