- Greetings, everyone! In today's video, I'll be demonstrating my method for creating weathered paint effects, specifically for battle-damaged armor, on the 1/12 scale Master Chief John-117 (Mjolnir Mk VI [GEN 3] Armor) from 1000TOYS. I hope you find this tutorial enjoyable and informative! Cheers!

Caught this figure on clearance for $75! Looks amazing but definitely will be weathering him up.
Wow, great price! I paid $160 for my figure.
About weathering, do it slowly and be patient when doing it. Don't be in a hurry to finish.
I believe the weathering will be super cool!
What? Where did you get it for that cheap. Please share!
@@xg5886 it was on clearance at my Gamestop last week.
Excellent weathering! I wish I could weather my figure like this, but I'm too afraid to do it due to the price. 😅 Great job btw!
😂😂 thanks my friend!
I really cannot recommend you to do this if you are not confident in practicing. However, I can recommend you to practice on a bootleg figure, I guess 😅
This master chief is amazing, i really love it
Thanks for watching! This Master Chief is my favorite 1/12 action figure ever! 😉
Amazing work, would love to see the weathering on Noble 6 when it comes out
@@GhostMotion7 I’m looking forward to holding it in my hands!! Also, the Noble Three is pretty cool too, mate! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Huge fan of your work sir, really amazing! 🙏
Great job!. I really enjoyed this video and your hard work. Best of luck to you!
Thanks for your support, my friend! I appreciate it. Take care! Cheers!
Wow just wow it was amazing what u did with the figure and the process was really fun to watch
Thanks, David!! 👊👊
Great job on the application. The only weathering ill be doing on my figures is from handling and from time.
Awesome upgrade man! You are a master at your craft!
@@philmicklewright1508 Thanks, bro! ✌️I appreciate it and thanks for watching!
Bro Excellent work It is the best custom I have seen on all of you tube I will continue watching your videos I hope to see other halo figures
Gracias por seguir mis vídeos, hermano! Estoy pensando en hacer el Grappleshot para fijar la figura pronto. Pero primero tengo que terminar dos videos y actualizarlos.
Saludos desde Japon!!
This looks awesome. Would be interesting if you used Rubber filler for the shoulders.
That would be cool, but first I want to make the grappleshot to him 👊🏻
Fuck....that is nicely done! I can't say perfect, but it's close to it.
Thanks for watching and commenting, my friend. I appreciate it 👊
That was insane
Love it! Thanks, my friend! 👊🏻
Now John looks like he's been through it.
I simply love this figure! 👊🏻👊🏻
That looks so game accurate! Great video, was really helpful too.
Btw any tips on where to apply the paint? Want to try this on something
Hello, mate! Thanks for watching!
So I recommend, first, you practice on a bootleg figure or something similar because if something unexpected happens, your original figure will be safe. A very important tip that I can give is: to be resilient. Have patience and, do not want to finish weathering work quickly. Do not paint with the naked eye. Buy a bench magnifier and try to do exactly as I did in the video. Enjoy the weathering process. 😀👍
Take care!!
GRAN TRABAJO :)
Incredible
Thanks, mate! 🙌🏻
I'll definitely try this on some of the cheaper jazwares figures
Hi, mate! Yes, definitely you are right!
I recommend first you improve your techniques working on this cheap one and then you can try to make a smoothly weathering on the 1000Toys figure.
Thanks for watching and Keep modeling your miniature 👊🏻👍🏻
excellent work !! One question, do you use any varnish spray at the end so that the custom paint is not erased? Thank you
Thank you mate!
Actually I could apply one coat of mat varnish, but I wasn't confident to do that. Mr.Hobby is a strong paint lacquer metallic, I don’t think it becomes out easily. Anyway, if you do one coat of mat varnish on your figure probably his looks get better, I guess. So, until now I can’t detect any problem with my armor suit. 😉
Nicely done 👍
Thanks, mate! My next project to complement his gear is to try making his Grappleshot. Thanks for watching!👊
Now i'm litteraly buying halo infinite because of this video lmao
😀😀A good choice, mate! I really love this Halo figure. the armor suit is amazing! I'm slowly making a Grappleshot for him. I'll probably edit a step-by-step video about it soon.
Excelent work
Thank you ! 👍🏻👍🏻
Incredible job
Thank you mate!!
the video is long, but I think it is worth watching the entire video to get a sense of the weathering process 👍🏻
Cheers!!
Hi friend, do you do commission work at all? Such an amazing job here 🙏 please let me know.
Hello! How is it going, my friend? Unfortunately my time is short, I can’t be accepting commissions for awhile. Thanks for watching and, keep watching my next works if you can.
Amazing repaint
Thank you mate!
My plan to the next opportunity is elaborate a small diorama to him or something like that 👍🏻
Ash Williams (Army of darkness) or Josh McGrath / Max Steel or Action Man (1993) or Guts / Gatsu (berserk) be like John 117 or Noble 6 B312 or Lord Saladin or Lord Saxx or Zavala (Destiny), Elizaberth Betsy Braddock / Psylocke or Setsuna Meiou / sailor pluto or Kaine or A2 (Nier) or Lina Inverse (slayers 1989) be like Cortana,, Duke Nukem rises from the ashes, Groovy Hayabusa Armor and Spartan Nicole-458 from dead or alive, theory or clue Halo is the future from the real life
wow never thought about using a magnet!@
I wondered exactly about that 😄
Thanks for watching!
@@biginjapanminiatures what did you use to paint the silver on the rifle? never seen that kind of brush before.
@@exodus2oo
I used Pebeo Gedeo Gilding Wax and Tamiya Supermetallic 2. After applying both, you need to apply a coat of matte varnish to fix the silver color.
@@biginjapanminiatures 24:40 what about this brush? did you make this yourself to paint such a small area?
Can i ask does the figure heavy??
The box with the figure inside weighs 400g. Probably the figure out of the box will weigh 200g.
What is the sponge material you used for the x-10 paint application??
You can use a simple sponge cleaning, for exemplo … 🧽
👍🏻
Could you make a list of products used! Couldn’t read the labels on the jars etc
This is a good idea. I'll do that in the video description. 👍🏻
@@biginjapanminiatures you might even get sponsored or products to test ;)😉
At 6:17 you used Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color to line the figure, does this not damage the plastic?
Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color absolutely does not damage the plastic.
If you leave it on too long, it will probably stain. Apply the Panel Line and remove the excess immediately afterward.
It can be removed with water or diluted alcohol, I guess 👊🏻 👍🏻
@@biginjapanminiatures Thanks for the tip! Great video btw.
@@morienforeshadow4553 Anytime bro! Appreciate it! 👊🏻
Does the weathering pastels come off when handeling?
If you handle it too many times, it will probably come off. Thanks for watching! 👊🏻
Hi! The tamiya enamel panel liners dont melt/affect the paint on this thing? Im not sure if they added a protective coat over it, kinda scared to ruin it
Hello!
Tamiya enamel does not contain abrasives that can melt the plastic. However, try to apply it very carefully and be quick when removing the excess, as it may stain the plastic.
I recommend that you test it on other surfaces before applying it to the original Halo armor figure. Good luck !!👍👍
Any protective coat to seal the entire figure? Matte? Or anything ?
I recommend Mr Super clear matt spray Varnish ,170ml or Mr Super Clear UV Cut Gloss spray. 👍🏻
I don’t trust myself enough for the full repaint. I have repainted so black series figures and others of the sort but not for this guy lol. However, I do want to at least use the weathering pastels, so you think those will come off easily if that’s all I do?
I see bro… 😄 so, you can use Tamiya weathering pastels easily. The pastel application will only be removed if you frequently handle the action figure. 👍🏻
Thank you for the super fast response! Your tutorial killed it!
@@benmacleod7000 Any time bro! Take care 🫡
SOOOOOO Much better. I need to "try" and replicate this on mine.
Totally agree with you! 👍🏻
I recommend you try it on a bootleg figure first and then, when you feel confident enough with your skills you can start to working on your 1000toys figure. 🫡
What is the name of the little square container you put your water and paint in ? I need that so bad idk the name of item
This is a Gode Painting Palette. There are many different types, sizes, and shapes of them. You can find it in Fine Art Stores 👍
Can you weather my masterchief???
Unfortunately, I don't have time to accept commissioned work, my friend. Thanks for watching!👍👍
I got mine for $30
