Had a 2014 Encore. I did trade it in for a 2023 Buick Encore. I bought it for the tech feature. The 2014 Encore was a well made care and well appointed. It was a great car to drive. I miss it sometimes. Thanks for the video.

Long term owner here. I have a 2014 with close to 180k. Aside from the plastic cooling components (now replaced with aluminum bits) valve covers that only last 40-50k, and one turbo replacement at 145k the car has been extremely dependable. Still gets 35.6 average MPG. I’m very focused on maintenance and this car sees oil changes every 4000 miles.

Ive owned a 2014 and 2015 Buick Encore exactly like the one in your video. Both are Great cars!! Very Reliable. My 15 Encore has 98k and running strong only had a few repairs through the years .All basic maintenance. I Highly Recommend one!

This is a great video. Thank you. I own this exact Buick Encore. I had to replace the entire cooling fan, there was a leak through the turbo another time, and now I get a overheating warning even after having the leak from the turbo was fixed. I also had some battery issues. Still love this little tyke of a car. Paid off and still driving well at 75k. 😊

I just purchased a 2018 Encore about a month ago... Luckily it still had a limited warranty and I caught that the coolant was low... Took it to the mechanic the warranty sent me to and it needed a water pump, thermostat and a serpentine belt... They replaced it...

Just like any ICE vehicle you need to keep up on scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

So in other words.. a nice looking money pit unless your a mechanic.

I would not go that far. Well constructed vehicle with minor issues. Ownership costs are on the lower side. Problem is that it is NOT a performance SUV. Buy something else if that is a priority :)

@@drive-chriscapredoni I guess my comment was written after watching a few videos of the encore. The other videos just before yours said they have failed turbos that cost $2k to replace, charging issues and a few other things. You somewhat mirrored what they said.

Hi, turbo failure is not a common issue. Do not let that discourage you. If they fail, they are not that expensive, relatively speaking, to replace. Rock auto has them for $400-$600 and replacing them is not a difficult job.

@@drive-chriscapredoni Thanks for the info and replies sir. Im thinking of buying a 2014 Encore with 149k miles. It has a replaced engine though (3 years ago). Lady said her husband was a mechanic and replaced it himself. He passed away 4 months ago. So shes selling it.

Find out what happened to the original engine. It sounds like there is not residue issues but it is best to know.
