I think you are a very important voice to these subjects, because from what I have seen, most Christians don't really care about are. So I like seeing someone like me share their opinion, especially someone he has a skill for making videos, like you.

Beautiful video! I’m watching this, I found myself laughing slightly at the irony of me watching this video as you stated that we look for consolation in the art others create to ensure that we are not alone. I must say, I find myself inspired when I learn that I’m not the only individual who thinks as I do or sees value in certain aspects of life. Aspects that really make one forego all of their stresses and realize that there are so many great things outside of what they interact with or experience on a daily basis. Also, the music that gently flows in the background is an oh so beautiful touch❤️.

"Aart is made in darkness. It is made in the midst of the storm." So true. I feel I am the most creative when going through distress, distress, emotional turmoil. This is how my most beautiful and meaningful art is created.

This is a fantastic video essay, and this channel is very important to me as a Christian artist. Sadly there is little content available for Christians to discuss the joy of creating. Your channel is a light for us. Following for sure. Thank you sincerely Josh!

Ah, bliss. I love video essays so much. You do an amazing job at transporting the viewer into a magical world that I just want to get lost in. Onto what the video was actually all about, this topic could not be more relevant and important to me right now. I've spent the past few years getting more and more entranced by the world of art and all its mediums. What I wouldn't give to be teleported to a land where materialism is discarded and beauty and art become the focal point of all discussions. Also, the part where you talk about people who make or observe art do so for consolation and *to not be alone,* is something that greatly resonated with me. Over the past several months, I have been working on a project rather intensely. It has become quite time-consuming recently, and I've practically given up my entire Spring Break for it. However, I wouldn't have it any other way. For all my life, I have always, always struggled with fear. It can feel almost over-bearing at times but also non-existent at others. My project is a "short-film" that's supposed to be a venture into my mind and how I have personally experienced fear. I find it hard to explain to others verbally or written how I truly feel when I become terrified. I may be overexaggerating my feelings, but this is something I just *need* to make. For my personal consolation. And *most importantly,* so that for anyone else who experiences what I do, they won't feel alone.
**Sorry this is a rambly mess, but I needed to throw this somewhere. Amazing video man.

Out of every UA-cam video I’ve watched in my life, I’ve never taken the time to scroll down and leave a comment like this... This video and all the videos I have seen on your channel have reflected reoccurring conflicts in my life. While I would consider myself to be a very creative person, art is often where I take refuge in pain, stress, and confusion. In all honesty, I don’t think I would be the same me without music, paint, and a canvas. However, listening to your suggestions inspired me to give a second chance to things I thought I had given up on and to seek out the genuine, exciting, and limitless art hidden within the clutter of mundane repetition.

I love your videos, they truly inspire me. It's hard being surrounded by people that focus on things I consider superficial. You often have to just accept it and go do your own thing, in my case Art. I love you people, bless you. Listen to your heart and go realise what truly feels right, apart from social expectations: but what truly is good for everyone.

There’s a certain humility that comes from a person stripped of everything they thought was right and then they start asking critical questions about the world, this humility is from God and brings truth, and I hear this in your well crafted videos, it is good to see a christian that has this. I have subscribed and am in full support of the art you are making! God bless you

The importance of life. I had to come back and watch this video one more time as a reminder of what's really important, what's speaking to us in times like this, when the material world is shaking and might be crumbling down any minute. In the words of Dr. Jordan Peterson and many consciences before him, it is in chaos we find ourselves trying to think and make order of things, that's how new things emerge, out of ruins of the old. Seize the opportunity to understand and enjoy it.

I just want to say, I can't begin to express just how much your three vids have spoken to me. Your two "Problems With Christian Media" vids express almost WORD FOR WORD what my beef is with what CCM and Christian-studio movies have been for far too long. As a filmmaker and cultural critic, it frustrates me just how COMPLACENT Christians are with the status quo, as far as "our" ART is concerned.
And this vid? Well...I've often felt like a loner, myself. And lo and behold...I'm an artist.

You know dude, even though this video will probably never have a million views, I think you've cemented yourself as a great artist and philosopher. Maybe not in the professional sense, but these kind of films make art more beautiful and meaningful for people, and that is a great gift to share with the world, which is all artists really do. You've got your place in history now, along with Fitzgerald and Hemingway, even if it's a small corner of youtube.

Thank you so much man, Thank you so much. I needed this. I have been studying in an art school for the past 4 years, and over the semesters i have gotten a harder and harder heart against the anti-god nature of so much contemporary art. I felt like i didn't belong. God kept assuring me he has me where he wants me to be, but I would doubt him. I doubted wether anyone would care about what I create. But I thank you for allowing me to be inspired in this way, for lifting me up again by seeing the beauty and potential of art.

Josh! You're a talnted writer. I really like how have you connected the introduction about the lost generation to the heart of the topic: Art and then concluded both by the midnight in paris film.
