- Come along with us, @JawTooth , @1960gambit and yours truly, as we chase the legendary Dupps No. 1 Locomotive on its journey from Germantown to Carlisle. This is a rare site as it only leaves the yard at Dupps a few times a year.
Most of my videos are filmed along the CSX Toledo Sub and the Norfolk Southern Dayton District around Carlisle Ohio.

Excellent video. The GE 25T locomotive is looking in pristine condition, it is a credit to the staff at Dupps.
They sure do take care of it.
I vaguely remember Carlisle. My aunt lived over in Centerville throughout most of the '80's. My uncle worked at Wright-Patterson as a DoD civilian and USAF reservist.
I spent two summers there in '82 and '83.
That was a fun day for sure, plus we got to catch the rarest of the rare around here too!
Indeed
Great video! A bunch of great shots. I loved the bridge crossings.
Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it.
@@LostDepot you are welcome!
Love that you, Brian, and Scott caught that. So cool to actually see it going out to the main! I have never seen them do it before
That's the first time I have seen it. I would like to catch it bringing a load out as those cars are very unique.
Very cool. It almost sounds like a toy horn
It almost looks like one also.
Great Video! I was going through my archive and found an engine very similar to this, its sitting down at the old Ludlow Yard.
Cool 😎 thanks for watching.
Wow! Super impressive shots & chase Lost Depot 👊🏼😎
Thank you 👊 😊
Wow very cool video and neat catch. Enjoyed the video and have a fantastic rest of your Wednesday.(Steve)
Glad you enjoyed it.
Good video
Thank you 👊
Really great angles! Were you able to tell what was causing the issue with the brakes at the interchange?
The conductor went to the other side and flip some lacthes or something so I assume it still had some sort of brake applied.
This is great! Any idea when that lickle ol' rig was built? I've had a quick search but can't find any info. Super video and thanks for posting.
I'm not sure when this exact one was built but this model was built between 1941-1974.
Great video. Is there a reason the engineer does not use the conventional LONG-LONG-SHORT-LONG whistle when he is entering a grade crossing? Not all the grade crossings had a flagman ahead stopping traffic.
I'm not sure it seems like they was aggressive with the horn sometimes and not so much other times.
Ah! I have found more of your videos! BTW, here in the UK we have very strict health and safety rules and I am sure that the man on the flat wagon at the back of the train would never have been allowed to ride it like that. I was wondering what happened to him, by the very end of the trip he was gone. Hope he didn't fall off! :)
He is the conductor and they have their bridges gated and locked so he rode back there to lock the gates. Once they crossed the bridges he got back one the Locomotive.
There is no point on taking a ton of care of the tracks because it is only used 4 times a year
@@LostDepotTrue, he may have been riding to close the gates/bridges and such but the way he was riding it wasn’t safe either.
What will the flatcars carry back?
They make food processing equipment but they have special cars for that equipment so I'm not 100% on the use of the flat cars. You can catch a glimpse of their special cars at the beginning of the video sitting in the yard.
