Actually they are taught to do their accents like that so the audience can understand them to the fullest. This is because after the original Broadway Matilda’s, people complained they couldn’t understand their accent so they had to change it
Who the heck is watching this in 2022 because you are obsessed with Matilda and it came up in your search results as the name of "Matilda The Musical"?
All the girls are good, but Jenna is extraordinary. I think its her facial expressions. I would love to see this in person, but I live in Oklahoma haha.
For some silly sort of reason, Jenna reminds me of Oona. Jenna kind of puts on her own version of Matilda as well. She looked so young to play the role since she debuted in the show. Sadly, I never saw her in the show 😢. I heard that she was an incredible Matilda from up to her final run in the show. I couldn't believe that Jenna joined the US Tour while it was transferring to Canada at the Ed Mirvish Theatre and so on. I'm sad that she didn't work with the original tour cast of the show. She would've done incredible with Jennifer Blood as Miss Honey. Instead, she got Jennifer Bowles as her Miss Honey and both of them still did amazing. Sarah McKinley Austin, however, did get Jen Blood as Miss Honey and they did incredibly well. Sarah was with Jenna and Hannah (or maybe Gabby). Jenna was also with Gabby Gutierrez. Gabby was in the original tour cast in 2015 and both that year and that year, she did amazing. When I heard that the second cast, after the original cast, went to Pittsburgh in 2016, I screamed. But I was also sad because I never got to see the show then, plus, I found out this year. I never saw the Broadway cast either, which was even more sad, sadder than ever. When the tour closed in July of 2017 I was shocked. I found out a few years later after I discovered that Matilda was a musical. I heard that the tour did amazing and hopefully it will come back to the US very soon. Once you are a maggot, you will always be a maggot.
They were taught to speak like that. Jenna is Canadian. So for her, she would mix up the Canadian accent with the British accent, along with the other two Matildas, Jaime MacLean and Hannah Levinson.
i love her little gasp before "and thats not right" thanks for uploading shes amazing!
She's a real Matilda! I think its so cute that she tries so hard for the English accent

I've been watching all the Matilda's I can find, and this Matilda is the first one I heard pronounce water as anything other than wah-tah
I saw her perform live yesterday! She did a really great job along with all of the other kids and adult actors!
Brilliant! One of the best Matilda. Good acting skills.

She’s one of the best I’ve seen in the ridiculous amount of Matilda videos I’ve seen.
