Always loved this game. As a kid I would nearly cry due to the awesomeness of the tracks. I'd look at the sky, and think: "Somewhere, C. Falcon must be racing right now to awesome music in space.." Good times :3
When I first turned this game on, I was amazed at how buttery smooth the frame rate was. The great sense of speed while going up against 29 other racers was worth the toned down graphics and compressed sound.
compressed sound? Sure you write down true feelings? i call bs cause this is by far on of the best FX/Music Games on the system, using digitalizeed guitar etc. One of the few titles that do not sound like a dated 1990 middleclass Keyboard and more Gamy like the Super Nintendo did
Damn little did i know, F zero X had some nice metal music ranging from melodeath power metal like that children of bodom to thrash like that of exodus too. It totally went with the speed of the gameplay
@@andros9657 Wipeout 64 had impressive visuals, but the gameplay wasn't as fast as this. Also all the tracks in that game are more or less two-dimensional, whereas in F-Zero X the gravity orientation can change.
N64 games were mostly stuttery 25fps, but we also didn't mind it as much back then. These graphics are pretty basic too, i didn't own the game as a kid, but having a pc today makes me believe N64 ran this at 60fps or at least upwards from 45fps consistently.
The Soundtrack at this age of video games was outstanding. I wish I could have that voice for my navi. And I wish I could effort a car to have use for a navi.
This game is so awesome. The absolute speed of it blew me away when I first played it. It's my favorite entry in the series too. The original is great but too simple and GX was way too hard.
I have both F-Zero Maximum Velocity and GP Legend and I would much rather play the SNES original over either of them, especially Maximum Velocity which honestly IMO kinda sucks because of its controls. GP Legend I think is the better of the two but neither one is notable in my book.
Legendary F-Zero game. My absolute favourite and the music is just nuts. Although this game wasn't outright overlooked, I still feel it was unappreciated.
I'm glad that my video has aided your decision on searching out this game as that is my channel's primary goal. If you think this game looks amazing, don't forget to check out F-Zero GX on the Gamecube. Thanks for watching :)
I was just about to look at some gameplay of that, too! I'm a Mario Kart fan, so this series of games spark my interest even more because of the lack of weapons. Racing games have always been one of my favourites.
mcaporelli3 Racing games is one of mine as well. Since you mentioned you're a fan of Mario Kart, it would be a shame to not ask if you have played Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. After playing that, I almost can't even look at another Mario kart game because S&ASRT is an amazing racing game even though it has weapons because it's a racing game first, and a battle racer second. Mario Kart to me feels like dodge ball on wheels instead of a racing game and lacks the sense of speed that I love in racing games. S&ASRT has the speed and perfectly balanced weapons. It's so much fun!
I've watched someone play Sonic racing on a stream and I actually really enjoyed it. It looked a lot better, honestly. Less hectic, longer tracks, etc. I'll keep that in mind after I get my taxes back. Maybe I'll get that, too!
Easily the best racer on the 64 and arguably the best arcade racer of it's generation the only real competition imo being Wipeout XL or 3, and also Excite Bike 64. Excellent game, love going through the Master difficulty level, always a good challenge to win every race.
In retrospect. F-Zero X is actually one of the sharper looking N64 games. Because it doesn't use bilinear filtering tricks and have any detailed textures, the game doesn't look as blurry as most N64 games resulting in graphics which I find less irritating on the eye. I could also say that after the lackluster Mario Kart 64, this was a massive step in the right direction.
Shino Mupen64Plus FZ. It's a N64 emulator and the finest one at that. It's completely free of charge and ad free as well. DO NOT download Mupen64Plus AE or MegaN64 as they are ripped off garbage that have ads. That being said your results may vary depending on how powerful your tablet is. I have a Galaxy S7 and it runs beautifully. Good luck :)
I bet I am 2 years late, but I deeply recommend not to play F-ZERO X or GX on anything that don't use their original control plugins, such as the N64 or GC because the gameplay will be just... lacking. As you need to press Shoulder buttons to attack, strafe or even slide/drift which will improve significantly the gameplay. This is more kind of a feedback. I would recommend to play the NTSC versions with their respective controllers to have F-ZERO X/GX at their full potential.
@@stuntbounce Look at the Ps2/Psp Grand Theft Auto series. You can play them on your phone now. Even Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire.
the robot counting down was genuinely creepy as hell to me as a kid. imagine those are the last words you hear before you fall of the edge and.... "retire"

Bonjour… can someone help me? I’m french and I don’t understand what the robot say when you cross the line for the 3rd and last tour?? I’m looking for this information since forever 😭
For some strange reason, I actually wet myself laughing as a kid, the ship took too much damage and blew up i found it so funny i lost control of my bladder.
One of the best N64 games, i laughed at my m8s that played Wipeout, not a bad game either i must say also quality. But not even close to this masterpiece !!1 ( After playing this game some of them bought a N64 )
MY favorite game on the Nintendo 64, good memories :')
DaisyyMichelle lol you were missing out then. Super Smash Bros was the way to go !
PFFT, golden eye 64
mos def. Super Smash (orig), Zelda Oot, and Mario 64 were, and possibly still are the 3 greatest games of all time!

This is when I fell in love with harmonies 😭
Almost 25 years later, I still think the robot voices counting down at 0:26 sound so cool. They get you pumped

Oh damn the nostalgia
I also definitely didn’t remember N64 games ever running that smooth, it’s retroactively really impressive
It's the only game that I know it ran this good of N64, I believe the very first console game to run at constant or near 50/60 FPS
N64 games were mostly stuttery 25fps, but we also didn't mind it as much back then.

Couldn’t sleep and vaguely remembered playing this game when I was like 5. Searched”space racing n64 game” and unlocked this hidden memory 😢
The physics engine in this was sublime. Taking the boost as far as you could without lifting off the track
I miss this game! There’s nothing like it, even after all these years... 🎮👾😄
Brings back great childhood memories
Indeed...
The ost for this game is hands down my favorite sound track of any game ever as well as it’s fun as hell to play 😂
Uno de los muchos juegos que marcaron mi infancia. Que viva el N64

I had an N64 growing up, but not this game or starfox 64, which I played the shit out of on switch 😂

That music at the begging takes me back lol so does boost power!
Wow I last played this game 23 years ago. Amazing to see it again
To me, the best FZero...and the best speed feeling, and music animation
Big Blue:best soundtrack
I prefer GX
still the best racing game ever made. for many reasons
First and most importantly, it's sense of speed.
WATCH YOUR BACK!
Come to think of it. Nascar adn F-Zero were the only two racing games with the most vehicles racing on the tracks back in the day.
That clutch finish on the final lap of the last track, awesome
I forgot how good the music was in this game
I remember this game getting me through a case of the chicken pox when I was a kid. 64 still the best Nintendo gaming in my opinion.

They were able to create a game like this on the N64, but nothing like this on the DS or 3DS which have more power ? Nice one Nintendo...
Can't you get it on the Virtual Console though?
nboy7 and ps2,ps3 and ps4
Don't be ridiculous. N64 was a home console. Both DS and 3DS are handhelds.
My Man the gameboy advance was more powerful or as strong as the super nintendo. So it is possible to make an handheld as strong as a home console

Feel so nostalgic when i hear the soundtrack
I wish they'd release a remastered version of titles like this one. Someone from ninentendo please see this!!!!

Sin este juego no habria sido posible el need for speed y tantos otros juegos de carreras.
