@@DESTINEAK oh thanks very much for your time I really appreciate it. I love your work. In short, I’m firstly a drummer by trade , I’m told very John Bonham esque”. Style, (love led zeppelin and soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron are the two styles along w my own added flare.Over the past ten years Iv fallen in love with the piano and as a result my musicianship had totally evolved especially with theory. (I also noodle around on the guitar thats where I usually Start with my writing is on guitar and morph out some fairly convicted heartfelt lyrics. If my whole heart isn’t into a song there is no song in my mind. I’m very hard on myself and tend to expect the same high caliber in my songwriting as my percussion playing standard, as a result always feeling I fall short. Like, what’s coming out often does not match my taste , if that makes any sense. is at, which worked pretty hard at learning an all around musician I noodle on the guitar a bit aswell so My songs usually start w sing then add piano , bass,strings then I get so involved that i can’t help but always overdo and it gets muddy pretty fast. I also tend to be very repetitive with my lyrics as tho I’m holding on to tight.. it’s really hard to explain. The positive side of all this is my awareness of these shortcomings and don’t get delusional about how good I actually am. I really have so much more to say about it to really convey more accurately where I’m at. But I do know I’m at a pinacle tho....I’m really close , like a painting looks like crap 5 minutes before it’s finished then the artist magically wraps it up beautifully and it’s a master piece. I spend countless hours a day writing music parts and singing etc. on garage band cause that is the only format Iv become so familiar with. Iv got tonnes almost finished songs, no shortage of material. Iv got great music instincts and syncopation but I’m very also very realistic about where I’m at.. I’m keenly aware of my strengths and weaknesses..but I’m so close brother, so close. I definitely got tonnes of passion, conviction believable heart felt edgy feel....there is such much more to say but I hate to take up your valuable time. I think Iv over done my say already, as it were....lol nevertheless I’m very gr8ful for everything you teach and your generous spirt toward musicians...I think with your help we could really have something...ps hmmmm I apologize for my poor grammar and spelling my secretary’s on a permanent vacation ;) lol
Whoa that’s great!! You seem to be really enjoying music. We love that. I think in terms of arrangement you could try 3 things for now to speed up your song completion:
1. Map out arrangements of existing popular songs that you love. Try to fit your parts into those arrangements. It’s a really great exercise and it really spells out how much “overwriting” we do!!
2. Collaboration with other songwriters would help!
3. Take instrumentals of songs and write within those arrangements.

@@DESTINEAK yes very helpful in fact in the past iv got discouraged becsuae the songs i love are extremrly complex and difficult to learn...so i think with your refeeshng advice ill have at her again but choose a much simpler song so as not too get too frustrated.
