I got a bright red Swiss-Gear “war bonnet” haha, wear it with me when I go for runs. CAT, chest seals, pressure dressing, gloves, sharpie, cravat, mini flashlight, laundry clothes pin (the big guy), small leatherman, pocket knife, 2 z-fold gauze. Still fits my phone and keys and all. Good to see someone else has the same idea although you seem to get more use out of yours.
@@MountainManMedical tongue, our doc liked using those instead and passing it through the cheek and tongue instead, use to say it had more oomf to it and easier to see if there was a lot of blood… but in civi life I’m sure someone would be a bit more ok with a smaller hole to the tongue and upper lip haha.
Holy emotional roller coaster batman!! In all seriousness, that sounds like a great piece of kit with a lot of history mixed in. Sounds like I need to brush up on first aid more than buying things though.
So starting from even the thumbnail, until you finally mentioned the name of the knife, I was wondering to myself whether it's that knife designed by legendary firearms instructor Massad Ayoob. And it is! Quite amazing. Haven't seen or even thought about that knife for many many years now. Great knife, glad you have it!
@@MountainManMedical yup, definitely his design. It was quite a sought after knife years ago,...back when the "knife scene" was largely on 3 or 4 knife forums, before it mostly moved to UA-cam and Facebook groups. All the best.
Cool presentation man! Thanks for sharing your gear and personal views. For EDC flashlight I love the "POWERTAC M5 G2". Quite small pocket size, 5 modes up to 2030 lumen until 330m beam, waterproof IPX8, tough as nails, optional mounts for picatinny or M-lok and remote pressure switch. Cool magnetic charging system so the battery doesn't have to be removed. Not cheap but worth it. In short: A REALLY great light!
@@BOOSTEDLASER I still use it regularly. It's one of my favorite pieces of kit, especially when I travel and on the range. It still looks like new, even with hard frequent use.
I know the designer of the knife. It was not designed as a medics knife. It was designed by a cop as a backup or undercover primary. It was part of the Masters of Defense knives by Blackhawk. One of features is as you described it. But was a feature . Just a feature to add to versatility.
Cooler yet, the packs are on closeout sale, thanks Brian. Now I gotta justify buying it, say a second trauma kit for the range? (Did you drink lots of coffee before recording this video? Wow you were ricocheting. You need to keep that fidget knife busy, impress and scare friends while you're at it hahahaha!)
@@MountainManMedical first time seeing your work. Definitely not the last. Thank you. People need to hear this. Made me research a product you mentioned.
Props on the Calvin & Hobbes collection in the background.
Calvin and Hobbs is a big part of my childhood.

Excellent load out. What's the Clothes Pin for?

Ha! Thanks Baby 😘 Skills are weightless. You just have to bring em out and sharpen em up every now and then.

Awesome! Thanks J Fan, I'll check that out. Doesn't looks as expensive as some of the lights out there...

Would love a video on using the triangular bandage.
You look very familiar, I've been 2005, 2008 and 2012 in Afghanistan. Muamar Valley, Ghazni and Kabul
I wasn't there any of those years, but maybe we bumped into each other somewhere.

Where can I find that knife? And what is the name? Medics/Medex Knife?
It's the Blackhawk Trocar. Not sure where you can find it though...
I call BS pinning the tongue.
Who exactly teaches that?
I’ve never even heard urban legends of that happening.
