Since my husband moved to Heaven, my daughter, who is my caregiver, has been mad at God. So, she doesn't allow Christmas decorations, not even a tree. I go to my younger daughter's house for a Christmas Eve hors d' oeuvres buffet and back to her house for prime rib Christmas Day dinner. My lead-up to Christmas for many years has been enjoying UA-cam families' preparations. That just brings me such joy, remembering all the bright years when my husband and I and our girls had Christmas with a beautiful tree and every room decorated to the "nines". I love your Vlogmas episodes SO MUCH! Thank you.
Leslie if ever you feel like you’re not making a difference in the lives of your viewers…. Just read the comments. You are the highlight of their days and mine. Thank you
We love Magic bars! Next time top them with some colored m&ms! Makes them a little more festive. I made cookies today and I'll be making my families favorite "White Trash" next. (chex, nuts, m&ms and white chocolate) Our tradition is to have dinner in Frankenmuth Michigan the week before. We go to the worlds largest Christmas store and its a lot of fun!
We celebrate Christmas on the 23rd with our grown children and grandchild. On the 24th we attend Christmas Eve Candlelight Services and the eat at Texas Roadhouse. On the 25th, my husband & I celebrate Christmas between us and we normally grill out, exchange our gifts, and watch Christmas Movies.
On Christmas eve. We usually do pizza and cheese ball I make and goodies I make and my lemonade strawberry punch... I've had that punch since I was little😊 We sometimes go to candlelight service,or watch my sisters church christmas eve. Service in Fla..... When my parents were alive we'd go there for supper there would be around 25 of us. Miss those days....blessings cookies look yummy...
Putting a Shoe out our bedroom door on the night of Dec. 5th...hoping that it is filled with goodies (not coal!), going to the Nutcracker Ballet with my daughter, going to the Rotary Used Book Sale and making a huge Reading Basket for my mom, Meeting the hubs at Starbucks for a Eggnog Latte, and thrifting for those inscribed - dated , metal bells, for my collection!
Our Christmas eve tradition use to be Chinese meal. Now the grandchildren come and get opening their presents from Granny and Grandad that is apart from Grace as she comes to our house on St. Stephens day or Boxing day in the UK. Hugs from Belfast. xxx❤❤❤
My tradition was before my kids were grown and gone, I baked several small loaf breads. I made Banana, Pumpkin, 5 Flavor and others to give out. - decorated the top with a glaze and Poinsettia flowers. Gave them to family and friends and on Christmas morning we light a candle in it and sang “Happy Birthday” to Baby Jesus. They loved it and reminded them what Christmas was all about. ❤
Our family draws names around Thanksgiving and on Christmas Eve all get together, have traditional Christmas supper and exchange gifts. Then Christmas Day each family has their own family get together and then they get together for other side of family! Awesome time is had by all.
A new ‘thing’ for us this Christmas is going to be a ‘Christmas Eve Brunch’ at our church on Sunday morning instead of a regular service. All are invited including our friends from the community who we have helped through the year - should be lots of fun! Ever6 blessing! 🎄🐨👍
Hahaha, that $100 dollar bag of groceries would not take you but two minutes to put up PB. So go ahead and make your very tired wife happy and put up that $100 dollars of groceries. lol Love it! ❤️
When my grandson was little and we were in a restaurant waiting on our table he could see the lady in bar area cutting up a pineapple and he took off running into there and telling her that was sponge Bob's house that she cut up.
Oh my I have to tell you this. Watching your vlog today when you showed your Christmas Crack, I yelled at my hubby "oh come look at her crack" he said " what she's a preacher's wife"! I realized what I had said! ( I just made Christmas Crack the day before with just nuts) We are still laughing! Merry Christmas!!!
Christmas eve my husband and I both eat shrimp. The two grown adults will have pizza or Cane's chicken. Then My husband and grandson will make a batch of marshmallows fudge (peanutbutter this year). Pastor B, what goes oh oh oh? Santa walking backwards. Merry Christmas.
Leslie, the cookies that you made with the cherries, pineapple and marshmallow is like we call fifteens only there is no pineapple in it and we roll them in coconut instead of icing sugar. I will have to try your recipe. Xxx❤❤❤
My daughter in law family Ike’s to play dirty Santa. There’s about 50 of them & it’s so fun to watch them argue over a certain package or present they want. Great fun for all ages
We get all our Christmas houses out & set up them up in a big scene. I’ve been collecting them since 1998. Then our tree goes up 12/1. I hide a pickle ornament on the tree every year. That’s how we start getting into the Christmas spirit.
What is the ingredient you leave out of your 6 or 7 layer bars? I thought it might be the butterscotch morsels, but, I thought you liked caramel or butterscotch. I would leave out the coconut. Our family is scattered around the country, and this year we are not getting together. So, it will just be one daughter and 2 grandchildren for dinner here. The want Penna Dutch pot pie (the kind without the pie crust) and stuffed jumbo shells (like manicotti or lasagna, but put the cheese mixture into the shells instead). Of course, apple pie and pumpkin pie and cream puffs with homemade cornstarch pudding in them. Yum. Merry Christmas.
My Mom alway's made dark fruit cake with candied fruit and gumdrops and she always made made steamed Carrot Pudding with Rum Sauce . I don't make her Fruit cake but i do make her Carrot Pudding the recipe is at least 75 plus yr's old . Merry Christmas !
Leslie you are a Cooking Mama you cooking all them yummy things I seen on your face it looks like you were taking some samples it was all over your face and your hair a mess but it looks like you was having a good time. I wish I was there to taste some of your goodies you made today. On December 23rd I make a peanut butter pie for my oldest son it's his birthday. Then on December 25th is my granddaughter's birthday we make her cake chocolate. I made some of my cookies and froze them and I will make my mom's favorite cookie pecan balls as she calls them. You have a good day of wrapping presents if I don't see you Before Christmas Happy Christmas to you all😊❤
When I first got married I made alot of hamburger helper, my husband said that's how he gained weight, I said I didn't put the fork to your mouth lol....😅
Cutco Knives .. I have had Cutco knives for over fifty years and I love them..cutco has everything..pizza cutter to cooking spoons. cheese cutter knives, potato peeler and the list goes on and on..I was 18 years old and a sales associate came to our house and I bought a set and added others cutco later..very expensive but I made monthly payments and I know you will love them too 😊❤🎄
Before our boys got married and their grandparents were living, we would do Christmas at my parents, and Christmas Day with my husbands parents. Everyone from my side would show up at my parents, and everyone on my husbands side would be at his parents. It was a fun time for all.
That was a busy cooking day with some great christmas goodies! Can't say enough how good they all look! Let the wrapping begin ! lol That is a lot of wrapping! Thanks Leslie & PB!
Lol, Leslie I was at the winn dixie grocery last night, I came around the corner and just about walked into a display of , guess what? It was the green candy fruit you were looking for. I immediately thought oh Leslie I found it. I said out loud to my husband there's the stuff farming g pastors wife is looking g for. I wanted to get it for you but knew you wouldn't get them in time. Oh well I thought of you. Love y'all, God bless. Hey PB what do you call a thousand bunnies running backwards? ........ a receding hair line. Thanks for sharing. We like to go one night to see Christmas lights. Bye.
Now that all the kids are grown with kids and a few grandkids of their own….we have 26-28 in our immediate family….we will head to Nashville to meet one family on Christmas Eve Eve, than Sunday a morning Christmas Eve service ( that’s different this year), then four of our six kids and their families will meet at our house Christmas Eve for a light supper of sliced ham, turkey, deviled eggs, etc and plenty of Christmas cookies and goodies! Then before we open a plethora of presents, the kids take turn reading the Christmas story mostly from Luke 2. It is always a sweet sweet time! Christmas morning, hubs and I will head to Florida to spend time with our Florida family and bring them their gifts. I love love love Christmas, the music, the spirit, the cookies, the lights, the decorations, buying gifts for those we love, but most of all remembering our precious Jesus who left Heaven to become a man to die for us so we can ( when we accept His gift of salvation,) live forever with Him in Heaven!
Morning to you and your hubby love ya channel and look forward to your posting a joke for you , what do you get with a pamperd cow. Spoiled milk have a great day an merry Christmas to you all.😊❤❤
Awesome video, Leslie and PB! What beautiful treats, I love how festive everything looks! Christmas is hard for us since my beloved Dad passed on 12/29/2019. Now it’s just me and my sister, and fortunately my daughter and her husband live right down the road. They always get us a beautiful Christmas tree and my sister decorates it all. I used to host Christmas dinner, but now my daughter has us over for a lovely dinner and gifts. I bring sauerkraut and corn, and my sister makes green bean casserole. My daughter doesn’t let me cook in her kitchen lol I think she thinks I’m messy 😂 I love you guys, God bless you all! 🤗🙏❤️🎄🎁
I cannot thank you enough for making the Russian tea. I never heard of it, but, I can see how beneficial it will be. I am going to make that. Ah, you answered my question about the 6/7 layer bar ingredient. Love you.
Could you give us the recipe for the sea side candy and show us on the video how to make it? Thank you! Everything you have made looks so yummy!! Love the Russian tea mixture!!
I always make a bunch of candy for Christmas. I start the first week of December. I made your peanut clusters last night & of course brickle! I collect Gooseberry Patch cookbooks, I tried a bunch of new candy recipes this year too.
Brickle, is also called Christmas Crack...made all different ways but a crunch/salty layer (pretzels or Premium Plus Crackers), a layer of toffee made on the stove from milk and brown sugar,... chocolate (white/dark),...then sprinkles or peppermint stick dust, or edible sparkles!
We always have Chinese on CHRISTmas Eve! We take our grandbabies 6,4,& 3 to the Dollar Tree and let them do "their" CHRISTmas shopping for the family. My hubby always did that with our kids and it has been such a blessin' to now do it with them. Where did you get your bowl with the red rim at? I LOVE that bowl! All your goodies look amazing! Starting my baking/ candies Thursday. Your video has inspired me! Tfs! Blessings!
2:53 we’re gonna start baking SOON. Christmas Eve, will be church and we’ll celebrate my sons official birthday. Hayden, will be 18 ❤️🎄 When we get home, we’ll read Polar Express and Night before Christmas. Christmas Day, open gifts and I cook ❤🎄
Everything looks delicious! I want to try the Russian Tea. Is your instant tea sweetened or unsweetened? Adding the ingredients to my grocery list. 😊 Thanks for sharing😊❤
Everything looks so good, Leslie! I just want to ask if you have a lot of guests over the holidays? It just seems like quite a bit of food for one family. I just made a NY cheesecake. It’s in the oven now. One of my grandsons favorite things. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
Leslie and PB a couple of our traditions are we go cut our tree and the first snow that sticks around for at least two days I make my “snow” cookies which are my rolled sugar cookies. I usually get 3 or 4 phone calls asking if I’ve made them yet😊. I made your chocolate chip cookies that you made with cake flour the other day and they were really good. Going to try the Russian tea this week too I think. Need to go to the store to get ingredients. Thank you for all you do 🙏🤗💕🙏
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here too, we have a beautiful coating of snow on the ground! Our traditions before Christmas...of course one of the most enjoyable for me is that I started baking right after Halloween and absolutely loved it! But right before, on Christmas Eve-Eve I baked many batches of cinnamon rolls. Then on Christmas Eve our whole family went to our Candlelight Service at church. After the service I would give every household in the family cinnamon rolls for our traditional Christmas morning breakfast. Around the service we would deliver the rolls and other goodies to most of our friends and neighbors. We would take them to all of the businesses and offices in town earlier (we lived in a small town) but most households would get them on Christmas Eve day/evening. Leslie, I agree that pineapple is good in applesauce! I don't always add it because I generally make mine unsweetened but it is good. I like to add a banana to it as well. I don't add enough to change the flavor but it will give it a very silky consistency. It doesn't take much to make a noticeable change.
Leslie, all of the candy looks delicious. I have never heard of Seaside candy, it looks like Divinity rolled into a log! Will try to find the recipe online. That’s a lot of wrapping for you and PB !!! Merry Christmas to you and your family.❤
You also have to be careful with folks with nuts and tree allergies using the same utensils and bowls you use with nuts. Even if you wash them, they can still effect them. That is why there are warnings on products made in same place nuts are used.
Christmas Eve my kids and grandkids come and I have a smorgasbord of food fixed, we open gifts and enjoy our family time, Christmas morning my daughter and family come for breakfast of fried oysters, eggs m bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, cinnamon rolls, oyster stew, then my husband’s family come and we all contribute to the food and we have a great time!
It’s like peanut allergies, we can eat things fried in peanut oil because the heat changes the enzyme in it that we are allergic to. So maybe coconut with heat makes us not allergic to.
We played games and ate did have a contest with the kids as who,can make the best Santa work shops, but no one comes around anymore my husband and I are by our self, it’s dad
Christmas will be hard for me this year loosing my mom and my brother so this is the first holidays without them.... I love pineapple...We would go look at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve have after we went to my Aunt' and Uncles house to exchange gifts and have pies but they are not with us anymore... It's me my adult kids and my grandson so he ,my daughter and I will look at lights..... Isn't it funny how we do certain things how our moms did when we were younger.... Yes you have been very busy making holiday goodies... I'm excited to see what Russian Tea is.... Wow a lot of mixes go into it... Is it really sweet or is it a sweet and sour taste... Y'all have a busy day let alone a busy night wrapping yes I need to do the same I have 12 gifts to wrap for my grandson..... So I need to start tomorrow ... Hope your dinner went well with Caroline and the boys.... Love simple meals during busy times... God bless y'all and sleep well when your done with what wrapping you get down... Good night...❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much... I'm lost without them this year plus my brother passed two weeks after we laid our mother to rest.,. Thank you for your prayers means a lot even though we don't know each other sometimes it means more.. I hope you and your family have a blessed holiday season....
Hi Leslie! Can I ask what kind of food processor that you’re using … what brand and model number, please. Thank you! I know you said you loved it. I need a good one!
We don’t have any real set traditions because it’s just us but my sister hubby and I went to this program that the catholic high school puts on called Christmas stars all little kids in Catholic schools July high kids high school kids and alumni partake in it. It was really fun this year so we are going to continue to see that as all proceeds go for music education in the Catholic schools.. after that I sing in our lessons and carols service the second weekend in Dec at our church so that is sort of a tradition we do since belonging to this church we haven’t had a real traditional meal Christmas Eve because I sing at the 5 o clock service Christmas Day the last two years was lasagna but we are changing that this year to Turkey tenderloin.. broccoli salad ..
Because my oldest daughter and her ex-husband have had joint custody we have had Christmas Eve one year with the kids and Christmas the next year so we don't have any set events. I love icebox fruit cake. That's the kind Isaac likes
Since my husband moved to Heaven, my daughter, who is my caregiver, has been mad at God. So, she doesn't allow Christmas decorations, not even a tree. My husband is in heaven, too. But we still celebrate Christmas. I love to see the delight in my grandchildren’s eyes.
Hugs to you! My husband went home to heaven 2 1/2 years ago. I will pray for God to soften your daughter's heart.
Take one day at a time, one moment at a time.
Leslie if ever you feel like you’re not making a difference in the lives of your viewers…. Just read the comments. You are the highlight of their days and mine.
Thank you

❤
I would love to see what the fruit cake-is cookies look like and taste like.
LOL! I'm 78 yrs. old and I can carry 100, in gro. also
We played games and ate did have a contest with the kids as who,can make the best Santa work shops, but no one comes around anymore my husband and I are by our self, it’s dad
Does all these sweets stay fresh until Christmas. How do you store everything?
I wrap as I buy. Why do you wait till the end to wrap😊

Hi Leslie! Can I ask what kind of food processor that you’re using … what brand and model number, please. Thank you! I know you said you loved it. I need a good one!
So I tried to make the magic bars and what I can see of the chips they aren't melting. Does elevation make a difference? I'm in nevada. Thanks
I wonder if the peanut butter chips would be good instead of the butter scotch chips. I'm with you I don't like butter scotch
Because my oldest daughter and her ex-husband have had joint custody we have had Christmas Eve one year with the kids and Christmas the next year so we don't have any set events. I love icebox fruit cake. That's the kind Isaac likes
I think you tried that cheese when Isaac was there ❤
Salt and oil rubbed on hands take the stain off.
