Absolutely fucking awesome as always. The most underrated British band ever. Ignored by the scum music press and media for decades. Keep going boys you have brought great joy to millions of us lucky enough to be in the know of how brilliant you are.
Glad that I got to see them at 3 concerts, Albert Hall London, Sheffield City Hall, Rock City Nottingham. RIP DG. Although a true punk band, there were hints of prog rock, an ballads (thanks to DG). JJB still attempting his karate kick! Love DG drinking his beer and doing his arpeggeios.
Thanks for posting this. I made this gig my last Stranglers gig because they aren't getting any younger and I heard Dave was finding it harder to play . He was on top form and the solo on No More Heroes is as close to perfect as I have heard in recent years . I hadn't been at a gig at the Bandstand before and the weather wasn't great but it was a great gig and a really intimate setting .The only other time I saw them outdoors was at the Reading festival in 87 so this was a small , intimate gig with no fancy stage show . The only minus for me was the timing problem at the start of Toiler , either Dave of Baz came in early and JJ was frantically trying to get Dave to listen to Baz and get in time. It was sorted out quickly though although I wish they had started again. If this sounds pedantic it's because one of the reasons I went to the gig was to hear Toiler live again and I am so glad they did. It was a night I wont forget but my favourite Stranglers gig was my first - the Gospel tour in February 1981 , at the Playhouse in Edinburgh
I saw the stranglers live on the same tour in Birmingham. But I first saw them on the raven tour. My God they just blew me totally away. I was at school.when the stranglers came out . I was at the grand old age of 13 ha but I've loved them ever since .

I was going to go to that gig unfortunately something happened and sadly that was that. But I did see the stranglers in March at the 02 in brum early this year. I've never seen Alice cooper live ...to be honest as good as I heard Alice was live I wasnt really into him. I'm gutted I had to miss this gig....but that's the way it goes. I would desperately love to see any bootleg footage from this gig. If anybody can help I will pay or trade some of my stranglers bootleg gigs. Cheers for your comment mate. I knew the stranglers would be awesome last night......they always are.
