- I’m back and I’m filming some sugar beet harvesting!
I have been fortunate enough to film this harvester for three years now so I would like to the driver and the team for allowing more to do so! I have been told next year I have a surprise coming!!
This sugar beet has done really well considering the very dry conditions over the summer. They are loading the beet directly off the field and carting it to the factory.

Usually spring barley drilled straight in behind the harvester
Hello. Can someone please explain to me why the harvesting machine is driving in that strange way.
It means that the load of the machine is spread over a larger area to reduce compaction. If the harvester was travelling in a straight line all of the weight would be put over the same place, when spread out like that, the weight is distributed over a larger area - reducing compaction.
