Hey everyone! This album is one that I've been working on and having to put off so much for so long up until now. "Feel Something" is comprised of 11 song ideas that I started between 2020 and 2021. Each song represents a large portion of what I was going through at the time of production and if you pay attention to the song titles and the order that they are in, it tells a story both literally and musically. The last few years have been rough and I've grown completely numb to a lot of things as a result. Struggling to be in and enjoy moments when I'm in them, just generally feeling like I'm unable to feel anything. These tracks happened as a result of me trying to find a way to just feel something again. The original track count was 14, but I cut 3 of the tracks because I just couldn't come up with a way to finish them and I didn't want to force the process nor keep delaying this album (more on that later).
Beyond the emotional connection, this album is also me saying "goodbye" in a way to this production style that I've leaned on for so long. I'll likely still make similar sounding things from time to time, but I want to make more progress on finding myself in my sound. I want to discover that thing or things that I end up putting in almost all of my tracks that people will hear and come to recognize as me. I want to make more progress on discovering my sound.
The first half of this album is exactly that - the sound I've been mostly releasing whenever I've released a song. The album then progresses into the second half where you can still hear some of that old sound, but you can also hear me experimenting more.
Now, on the technical side of things, I still didn't and couldn't quite make this album sound as "good" as I believe I could have, but I was having a lot of issues with my project files for the songs, exports messing up, and pieces going missing which caused me to have to re-do a lot of things in some of the songs. To top it all off, all 11 final exports rendered weirdly in regards to quality and I couldn't find a way to immediately remedy this without me delaying this release even longer which would halt the progress on all the new stuff I'm working on for you all. Wrapping this entire project up was cursed, but I believe I was able to get it in the most presentable shape I could have and I'm happy I was finally able to get it out for you all.
