I too, have been very excited to learn about AnimAction and Art Master for the Vectrex. Your animations put my brain into 1980's Sesame Street mode instantly. Thank you!
This is great! Imagine for a second that this was part of a Vectrex commercial in the 80's. I think things would have taken an other route for this system :)
Briefly in a Japanese Bandai Vectrex commercial, there's the use of a light pen to draw a robot which morphs into a spaceship, advertising that one can do art with the thing. But, it's faked. I think this system was doomed probably no matter what, unfortunately.
You might be interested in the Vectrex32 cartridge that contains a 32 bit processor that's programmable by a pc via USB and drives the Vectrex monitor.
There are no "correct" settings to film a Vectrex screen because the refresh rate varies depending on how much is being drawn on the screen every frame. For these, I just adjusted shutter speed until it had the least amount of flicker every time.
This is what UA-cam was made for. The animations and sound effects were really well done!
Aw. Thank you. Glad you like them.

Ha ha. Thank you. 80's Sesame Street brain success!
The animations are so much better and impactful with the zany sounds! Dig that sound design making 'em whole.
Thank you. I agree. As much as I enjoy the natural buzz of the Vectrex (partial sarcasm), having sound definitely helps. Audio is half of video.

Always a pleasure to see your mind at work sir.
Thank you : )
Great video and great animations! Doing animations on theses limited platforms is a challengw on its own!
Indeed. The challenge is part of the fun.
@@japhyriddle Watch my renders on my channel. There is a Vectrex animation too!
Awesome video, and your animations were super-awesome; they made me LOL at least twice! Thank you.

I am. I've known about it, but haven't investigated yet. Thanks.
Great video. The biggest limitation for me is that you can's save any of your creations.
Quite a shame. But, until such a modification is made, I don't mind pulling out my camera and filming the screen.
@@japhyriddle I've mentioned you on my website news blog :)
Great stuff!
friggin cool :D also nice animations ^.^
Thank you.
WOoooo thanks man
; )
now I want to learn to animate
Well, I am teaching a stop-motion class if you're interested, heh heh. My fourth most recent UA-cam video has the info.
nice shirt!
How did you record the final products?
