I have very fond memories of living in Singapore....I lived there for 3 years. I really loved the Amah Markets each week, The House of Jade and the amazing spectacle of Thaipusam. The shear diversity of cultures........Fabulous!!!! Even a monsoon downpour was a great way to cool down, get showered and clean your clothes all in one go..........
Fond memories.. was it four years we were there?
I was there three years Bro......1966 though to 1969....you stayed on for another 6 months.
ah yeah... I remember seeing folk off at the airport, on a VC10... I remember how sad I felt- weird thing, memory
WOW, you should come back for a visit. Singapore has alot of changes since... it will be nice..
Shujun y That would be wonderful.....maybe one day......I know it will have changed beyond all recognition......
Good job Mina! As a Singaporean I'm intrigued to see there're actually so much to do, see, visit and eat in a small country like ours! It would have been greater though, if the video could cover some of the many....
- museums we have like (Asian Civilisation Museum (ACM), The Peranakan Museum (TPM), National Museum S'pore (NMS), Madame Tussaud wax museum ...) and - galleries (National Galleries Singapore (NGS), Spore Art Museum (SAM)...) too, and not to mention - the cultural & Heritage venues (Malay Heritage Centre, the Indian Heritage centre, The Eurasian Centre & [the new] The Chinese Cultural Centre) like - concert halls & theatres (Victoria Concert Halls & Theatre, The Esplanade, The Chinese Orchestra concert hall) and something uniquely Singapore like a- venue that screen art films or films made by Singaporeans film makers (the Projector), What about the - war museums (former Ford Factory, The Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, Bukit Chandu- S'pore's Last frontier during World War 2 before the Japanese conquered the entire island) and - memorials (Kranji war memorial, Lim Bo Seng, Sook-Ching locations & Japanese Cemetery- largest outside of Japan. etc), That's just to name a few; perhaps with some of the above featured, Singapore may not be seen as so 'materialistic' and uncultured as some may wrongly thought so. Just a few suggestions about the holistic impression of Singapore 🇸🇬 by a Singaporeans who loves his country :-) thanks....Nevertheless, having said so much, for a short video you've covered much as it is! Well done!
Simon Lim I'll definitely need to check out a few of the places you mentioned! Thanks so much.
don't miss out Katong or Tiong Bahru either!
thankyou for this! ym stepdad and i are considering 2 weeks in singapore this autumn and we both love history and culture
who enjoys watching this even if they are singaporean?
Puffer Fish meee
Puffer Fish me
Puffer Fish Mee
Me lol
Me.
I'm a Singaporean and i love staying at home :D
It's too humid for me.
Fez I am also a singaporean too and I love it so much
im singaporean and we all like to eat
same lol
can I ask some questions bro??
just ask, no need to ask question in comment area.
You're very talented! All the footage is very eye-catching
Thank you tons! I filmed so much for two weeks that my finger got swollen lol. But hearing such sweet words makes it all worth it!
This video motivated me to definitely visit Singapore!! on my bucket list!
Clarke Quay is waiting for your dance moves! 💃🏻
ha
My favorite things to do? Stay at home 'cause it's too hot and I need to study.
Kyle Tan l end with a "Tan" to
This is the best and most informative video I have seen on Singapore. Thank you and well done.
I'm Singaporean and I don't even know the last place existed..
There are also plenty of big shopping malls in Jurong (Westgate, JEM, IMM, Big Box etc.), which is an industrial part of Singapore in the west that most foreigners do not get to visit.
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve which is situated on the northwestern part of the island just opposite the southern coast of Johor (Malaysia) is also rather far-flung; but locals do go there for morning walks / bird-sighting.
the last place is exclusively for people into paranormal crap stuff.
unfortunately I am not one of them
That's the only place in Singapore you can see graffiti. I saw an outline of a lanchiao and the acronym CB at 9:05.
I don't believe in paranormal crap, but I'd like to see that place for the history. It's also pretty and edgy. People can like ruins and abandoned places and not believe in bullshit you know.
YummYakitori haha ye
spent a couple of weeks in Singapore back in 93 was amazing. i loved the food and the people were great.i was in the USN. on a ship in the ship yard after a generator broke down in Indonesia.
She makes Garden by The Bay sound like is Very Amazing
Putri Zahra It is! I want to go back time and again as a Singaporean. 😊
It's changed alot over the years---super modern now but still has so much charm and wonderful food, friendly people, great sights and very safe streets.
I'm Singaporean
I recommend everyone to try the Forest Adventure near Bedok Reservoir 👍
Great Video! Just arrived from a holiday and your video is so informative and precise. Loved the crisp description of every interesting place. Wish I had seen this video before!
*2019 addition is the JEWEL at Changi Airport* 💎💎💎
This is the best travel guide of Singapore!!!!
I suddenly missed Singapore :(
where are you from ?
I am from the Philippines. During my College days we went here to have a seminar.. :)
Queen Pi hi come to singapore and lets do hiking and eating.. I'm also Filipino but staying here in Singapore..
This the best Singapore video I've seen! So much info and straight to the point. Thank you!
2019 addition: jewel
It's like a tourist trap.... I never been there and I'm Singaporean
Jewel is the most overrated attraction in SG. It's great if you like food, with cuisine from different countries, but then again, so does Orchard Rd. Unless you live on the eastern part or is near Changi, just go to Orchard Rd instead.
LT Ang its very extra but super opulent
I love that your personality comes across in all of your videos, it truly inspires me to be a lot happier and nicer to others. So I wanted to thank you!
8:16 khksd mamamoo casually playing in the background 💜💜💜

Singapore is the best country ever. I love it here~~
Prophet Agreed
I have been there 3 times . No word would describe the cleanest city and the most kindest people there
Missed out Tiong Bahru, rustic HDB estates, East Coast, Night Safari, the reservoirs.
I'm Singaporean for 50 years and I still enjoy staying here. Welcome to Singapore guys👌❤
So you're old now?like 50 or 53?
Nice informative video! =)
wanderingwinny so true! will be visiting next week and I'm doing some homework
This is amazing and extremely informative! Thank you so much Mina!
what do we like to do? we study till our brains are fried
its kinda worth it because Singapore is the country with
1st most educated country
1st country with most IQ
and of course, it makes us have a higher pay job
+ Yato/Yukine Get a hold of yourself. Singapore isn't the most educated country nor the 1st country with most IQ! You have to be a Chinese Singaporean? As the Chinese will say anything to make themselves look better on the outside. You are not even a country. Believe me I've been there and all those ugly, ugly architecture and no natural scenic places - this is a plastic city and no freedom of speech with one of most corrupt government. I only came to this video for Mina. What a sore eye of a place.
Charlotte Nixon - are you sure? What's your idea of freedom of speech? By the way, where are you from? Oh, guess what? You're racist....you said it when you basically stereotyped all Chinese.
+Charlotte Nixon umm yes it is. google it. everything's under ur fingertips
+Charlotte Nixon sure bro. yea i saw the states too. went there once. its violent an ugly. yea i visited a place called detroit. what an ugly country. oh ye i visited germany too. they're crazy. i went to a place called the holocaust museum.
I just came to Singapore to work, It's nice place. I love to walk around
9:04 THOUGH HAHAAHAHAHA I bet a lot of people will know what "CB" means
😂😂😂 i was shocked when i saw that xD well~ its a popular word for Singaporeans~
The first thing i thought was "ChanBaek?" Lololol
ceebai

singapore is very expensive country
anak alim tamil nadu not at all
Expensive as for indonesian money since it has lower value to singapore dollar.
Saya pikir
i think now Jakarta lifestyle is also expensive
There’s a 3 storey Gucci store in marina bay sands shopping centre.
The Singapore dollar buys $0.96 au.
I'm travelling to Singapore in 4 days time. Can't wait!
The Merlion is going too another place now, I mean there moving it away😭😭😭😭😭

I loved the architecture of the buildings; they were both unique and beautiful!

Singapore is Cosmopolitan country, clean, expensive, great attractions, excellent public transportation, and what impressed me the most is TAXI service.
