In my region most of the ISP provided devices only has 2 LAN outputs (FE, GE. I assume this is what you mentioned, 1 100mbps, 1 1gbps). I have 2PC, 4 smartphone, 1 TV stick. The ISP device, 1📱 & 2 🖥️ is on first floor. 📺, 3📱 is on ground floor. I need physical connection to the PC's. You recommend to use gigabit port for the deco. Seeing that I need 3 ports (2 PC, 1 Deco), how do I split that single Giga port. Should I get a switch or a extra router?
Hi, can I connect both Deco M4 wirelessly to the router? I do not want any wires to be visible. Speed drop doesn’t matter as I have a 40Mbps connection which is the max available in my area (buying M4 instead of E4 for future proofing). Your reply will help me make a purchase decision. Thanks in advance!
Suppose I have a deco in first floor of house connected to modem and Second deco in ground floor, if I go to the ground floor and access wifi whether speed differs when compared to first floor of the house? Can you pls clarify
Hi, I need to know the below: I have Airtel Fibernet and I want only one Deco M4 mesh to be configured ( only 1500 Sqft flat) such a way so that I will get seamless connectivity throught out the flat. So, will that possible to connect Deco M4 wirelessly to the Airtel Fibernet modem/router? Can you please guide me properly?
@Distilled Tech I have a similar question. Can I use one deco (m4/m5) to cover a 1600 sqft apartment? ONT is in living room. There 3 walls between my bed room where I like to use wifi connection in my tv.
@@sanket8665 Yes you can. Keep the Deco's such a way that there hinderance is minimum for better speed. I have already set this up and working awesome.
Hi, I have an ACT Fiber Internet connection and I want to install TP Link Deco M4 routers at my place. Can I directly plug the LAN wire from ISP into this router or do I need to use a separate router/modem for this.
I am thinking of buying this but I am also inclined towards buying a TP link Wi-Fi 6 router like AX1500 instead. I have a question though with this one- I have seen everyone setting up using the application, is there a router configuration page thru the browser as well? can we separate the 2.4ghz and 5 ghz wi-fi networks?
All TP link Deco's have browser based access but with a view only option. you cant even change SSID. As of now 2.4and 5g cant be named separately. Hope TPLINK would provide these more demanding options in future.
I have suggested to disable ONT wifi so that user can use mesh network provided by TP-Link. Otherwise user will have to manually switch between different WiFi signal from ONT and deco M4 for better connection.
My main router is at other end of my house, can I use this mesh deco router in study room. And connect to my desktop machine through Lan? Is it possible with the ethernet ports this deco router has?
Yes, you have to connect one deco mesh to your main router through wired and rest deco connect wirelessly with each other and further lan port can be used for connecting devices which doesn't having wifi.
what is the use of this if I have to connect them via wired connection ? except for one which is connecting to the router directly, others should have connect without lan. I am not sure if that is possible. If not this product is waste.
These can be added wireless and performance is also good. But No comparison with wired backbone. Main purpose of this router is to provide MESH network with Single SSID.

One Master (any Deco can be Master) deco M4 must be connected through wired then all other deco's can connect wirelessly.
@@mtb_vihaanverma thanks for the clarification 👍🏽
can i just buy one deco m4 and use it to extend my jiofiber connection?
Yes, but you will loose mesh wifi until you use jio builtin wifi.

When you say disable the WiFi on ONT. Please guide how to do it.
you have to login into your ONT and in WLAN tab you can uncheck or disable wifi.

If i connect deco to Jio fiber router , is tv connection affected

Is a ONT Mandatory? Because I have directly connected my fibre wire to the tp link router I currently have. I never had a ONT.
If your ISP is using FTTH technology. then ONT must be required. Which ISP you are connected too.

Yes it will work with any ISP.
