Amein. I learned something today. It also make me think about the animals that Abraham had to split in 2. I'm so glad that you share out of a relationship with Yeshua and not religion.
Grant, when you referred to Gen 3, The Sword, my thoughts immediately went to the Spiritual Armor of Eph 6!!! The Sword is The Word and Yeshua is the Word made flesh, and He is therefore the other Half! Just LOVE how God ‘proves’ it though, through the further explanation of the Hebrew word for ‘his soul’!!!! HalleluYah! Just lóve your indepth studies! Blessings from Stellenbosch!!
Oh wow!! Thank you gor this insight. I love your teachings ... Abba has blessed you so you can break open the Word for us. Blessings Esther from South Africa
”We all, like sheep, went astray, each one of us has turned to his own way. And יהוה has laid on Him the crookedness of us all.“ Yeshayah (Isaiah) 53:6
Just a question: In Hebrews 4:12, we read "The Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." - Could this have application on the half-shekel?
That is a very interesting connection. But I think the Hebrews passage is more about exposing what is hidden, whereas the shekel passages are more about how we are designed for connection.
Yes, and no. The Hebrew word for 'fish' is, as you say, דג (dag). But the Aramaic word for 'fish' is נון (nun) and is found several times in the Hebrew Scriptures. For instance, "Joshua, son of Nun" ('...son of Fish'). And the word is also used to indicate propagation since fish propagate very quickly. (Psalm 72:17 for example.) דג is also used in this way. (See Genesis 48:16) Thanks for your question and for being a listener!
Good point! But there is a difference between the person who has been exiled against his will, and the person who chooses exile. God gives grace to the first.
”Abram brought the animals to God, cut them in half, and placed the halves opposite each other in two rows; but he did not cut up the birds.“ Genesis 15:10

Wow the part about the letters for “his soul” blew me away!

Is fish also'nun' in hebrew? I always thought it is 'dag'. Thank you. Just learning. This is an amazing teaching! Thank you.

If nobody can survive in isolation as a believer then how did Joseph survive in egyptian prison and not lose his faith?
