You have made my day, Sir. I'm chuckling at your ingenuity. It seems obvious now that you've shown this modification, but I would have thought of this after about a hundred years. Thank you for this video and brightening my day.
Take no notice of negative comments. I built something similar and it works a treat. I commend your ingenuity. I have a tractor and tiller but sometimes working outside by yourself with hand tools isn't such a bad thing. Good for you mate.
I have to say, this was a pretty great idea. I'm just waiting for my 5 tine cultivator to get here to finish building mine. I just can't weed a 3000sqft garden on my hands and knees multiple times a season. So, thanks for this helpful tip!
Thanks for sharing this idea. I was watching videos of hosstools and lamenting the $200 investment it was going to be when I found this video. I have a bicycle that I was going to scrap. Now I find it's still useful
Fantastic idea! First use a Broadfork and then your bike-plow to maintain the surface... brilliant and thank you! May we should also reinvent the antic chinese wheelbarrow.
Genius! this looks so much like the ones my grandfather used back in the day! Thank you...now I know what to do with the old bicycles I have and I am excited to try it. Blessings!
I wanted to thank you for posting this, i found the idea intriguing and after building my own made modifications so it could be pulled with my recycled riding mower. i can run a 8 inch plow with it and it works fine, me and the wife can plow our 1/4 acre garden in just a few hours. As for the commenters on the "scrap crap" they will never understand what treasures a junk parts box holds during that moment when your building (cobbling together) something new and just happen to need "that one damn part."
Best bicycle hack ive seen for use around farm or garden, wouldnt the mountain bicycle wider frame wide rims work better? Seeing those old films when Ford model A or T cars sank down in muddy roads reminded me of how the touring bike skinny tires wasnt made for working in rough terrain
I love this little invention! I'm going to see if this makes it easier for my back and get some excercise too! Thank you very much! Save me money too❗️👍👍👍
stin987 I will look forward to seeing more of your videos! I need all the Luck I can get especially after a serious surgery to try gardening but that's what I want to try to do 🤞I'll have to take it slow and not plan doing it all myself🙄
Well done :-) Simple yet effective on an existing garden bed :-) I can see how this could be expanded to do multiple rows if you had another way of pulling it, be it animal or mechanical power. Depending on your space limitations It is true, we are only limited by our imagination if we dare to think outside-the-box! Looking forward to more with louder audio. Keep up the great work :-) :-) :-)
i wonder how many plow tips you could mount on this and still be able to push it through the dirt...4 or 5, spaced a few inches apart, might be the limit of what an average person could push, especially if it is not tilled ground to begin with.
Wow ok that's a great way to re-invent with an old bike. Although your's dont look that old. And I agree with another commenter you could sell these or at least maybe create the kits to make different ones "bike sold seperately" *****
It is a good and useful transformation. Maybe you should consider modifying your shoes in order to not compress the soil. I know that hard materials added to the bottom of shoes are likely to make contact with an ankle or both. I therefore do not have a design to suggest. Do not forget the sun. You can attach an umbrella to the frame of the cycle and place the upper part of your body in the shade. Great video!
Congrats! Just if you have an ideas on it let me know. I am trying to figure something out because I just can't pay for one online and the shipping. They act like those things are made of gold
spiritartman The plow points are available on eBay, and at places that sell tractor parts. It is not necessary to weld the plow attachment to the frame. If you remove the old cover from the seat you can use the seat frame to attach the plow. Thanks for looking.
Are the parts wheel hoe attachments? If so, they are EXPENSIVE - just one part is $40-$60, but what a great idea - I hope they are something else and cheaper - I have 2 bikes just sitting and ready - Thank you! And we do have a big tractor - but this is for my Back to Eden garden
You didn't mention hacking the steer tube off the fork which you clearly did. How is the stem and handlebar held tight in the frame without the steer tube?
that is ingenious, quick question. you used a 26 inch bike frame ? have you tried a 20 inch frame? wondering if you used the larger because thats what you had or if the smaller ones arent tall enough or something. I'll for sure make one of these
yes we did use the 26" bike because thats what we had. I have also made a 20" wheel too which maneuvers better in my opinion. we also made a 20-inch wheel Garden plow with Riser handlebars which worked well also.
i put in plow point or plow attachment in ebay and didnt come up with anything that looked like it could be attached to a bike seat post. i will try john deere. about how much should be we spending on an attachment? in the ballpark so i know i have found the right thing.
Would it be silly to tow this, plus weight, behind a mountain bike specially modified with big snow tyres (to get better purchase on ploughed up dirt)?
I would wonder about the position at which you're pushing. It seems like it would be uncomfortable especially on the back and wrists. If the handles could be raised some and leaned forward a little, I think it would be more ergonomic. Great idea though. From what I see, I think a little tweaking would work wonders on its usefulness.
I just want to say that this is the most elegant, simple solution to an unaffordable tool. You might save us all...
That was the goal of the video. Thanks.

What is with the negativity? Dude, NICE WORK !!! Two thumbs up for the work apron,,, totally old school ready for the comeback !!!
Yes, it's a good idea. The people eing negative have no reason to be. Only one reason I can think of they are racist and don't like the way he looks!
@@VirantRoss It doesn't strike me as likely, at all. For what it's worth it seems like any negativity has filtered through the comments algorithm.

Christie Decker good luck on your building.
Thank you!
I made one of these, works GREAT for a lay off plow and also to hill after plants are growing, Thanks for a great idea
Sir you have blown my mind. I was just about to order one of them $600 wheel-hoes, now I have a use for my pile of bikes! Many thanks!

And I was wondering what I should do with my old bicycles.....Genius!, thanks for sharing.
This is great! My brother is too big for his bike and we need a plow. This works out well. Thanks
This is so awesome. You can add a 18-30" plow attachment to move snow. No more backbreaking or crawling!
Thanks sir! I'm gonna try this. Nice of you to share this tip
THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO YET...SMART MAN...I LIKE THIS
You just save me tons of money and i love building things and repurposing things so its a win win haha great video!

I knew somebody made it! You, sir, are a genious!
Really cool. I have WAY TOO MANY bicycles so I know what to do now.
Yeah, ride them
I love this little invention! I'm going to see if this makes it easier for my back and get some excercise too! Thank you very much! Save me money too❗️👍👍👍
MAE HAY I am glad you enjoyed. i plan on making better videos in the future. having kids makes things harder. good luck.

Genius bud. I got a few wheel hoes that i use, that's a great idea. Props brother, live well.

That my friend is some fine engineering! I love it!
People have lost all the ideas since PC is invented.
Thanks for helping us all to use brains.
Field was already loosened up. Go to where grass growing, then let's see what it does
nice job! you are the man who using his brain!
We have used these for years in the South. Great for small gardens only. laying - off rows is easy with them. Soil has to be easy to work with.
Beautiful idea ! I think this is more suited to Fukuoka's no-till farming as we'll be able to make very small incisions to bury smaller seeds. Thanks.
What a great reuse of old stuff, I just subbed. Looking forward to more

Great idea!
I can wait to prepare one for my allotment Thank
I love this idea! Is it hard to maneuver?
What a great idea. I have an old hand cultivator head I think I can use.
Awesome i love to see people take junk and make something that works as good or better than factory made
Looks like it works well in sandy soil but what about soil with lots of clay?
then you need to add a cow or a horse to help plow
You sir are an American hero.
thanks. once I finish school my dad and I plan on making a more in depth video.
Awesome idea, go green!!!
साइकिल से टीलर बनाना अच्छा लगा मै भी बनाउंगा
Add on an off road tire and maybe hang some bags of rocks off it for mass it'd cut deeper and easier. Clever idea!
De todos lo que he visto este es el mas entretenido y menos complejo, saludos y gracias por su aporte a buenas y economicas practicas en agricultura
What an AWESOME idea. Gonna do it!
Great plow and idea!
Thank for the post we just put one of these together works excellent.
I am glad you were able to make one. I hope you enjoy it.
молодец дядя,полезные вещи делаешь
You murdered those bicycles!
There's still more than enough bikes in the world for every ass to have a pair of wheels.
Thank you sir, a very useable video. and well done too. i am will be a new subscriber.

Creative idea, very interesting. Maybe you could also make the bycicle to a seed drill~
Nice thx for the info, I have a few old bikes
Pio tx glad you enjoyed it.
thats actually really smart! good job!

Very cool idea.
Wow. First you are awesome. Second I need you to make a video showing how to make a plow for my welch to pull.
i have a six month old baby now but I will try and make some more videos.
Congrats! Just if you have an ideas on it let me know. I am trying to figure something out because I just can't pay for one online and the shipping. They act like those things are made of gold
Jessi Williams hi m
Very creative. If this is your idea, good job man! SS
This guy is a genius
woooooooooooow......nice idea
Thanks for the video I just built one!

spiritartman

Nifty! I'm trying to find the attachments online and having no luck, any advice or links?
Wow. You are amazing. Thanks
Lol that is awsome man nice work!
I CAN NOT find that type of plow head anywhere... Where did you get yours from? Anyone know where I can find one?
The Mauwow Homestead they were purchased on ebay.
i now see that you used part of the seat frame to attached the plow. thanks.
I made a cultivator for the soil with their hands. Turned out to be a handy device
How's the stability of this implement? Since there's only one wheel one has to push equally on both sides of the handle bar.
man thanks . you are just great. thanks!!!
Oh great man, oh wow, cool, smoke another one please.
Can you link to the tool attachments you used on it please?
great idea 🎈
Oh this is GREAT. I'm gonna do this & also share it on the Asheville Makers website! Thank you!
Very cool idea.
You didn't mention hacking the steer tube off the fork which you clearly did. How is the stem and handlebar held tight in the frame without the steer tube?
Genial , con poco se hace mucho lo felicito :) gran idea , gracias :)

thanks for the reply, glad to hear the 20 inch works because thats what i have laying around :)
nice method man.
Hey, super idea, reduce, reuse, recycle. Very practical idea. Pat on the back to you. Good video,,Thanks
Absolutly Brilliant.
Looks like it gets the job done.
Beautiful! Thank you! Namaste!
I wonder if you can add weight at where the pedals were to weigh down the plow better to drive it in deeper in the soil when needed.?
I picture a a barbell rod through the pedals with a few pound weight on each side....hmmmm
i put in plow point or plow attachment in ebay and didnt come up with anything that looked like it could be attached to a bike seat post. i will try john deere. about how much should be we spending on an attachment? in the ballpark so i know i have found the right thing.
I like it. Thanks for sharing that.
very beautiful idea
IT S VERY INCREDIBLE...WOWWWWWW
Very Nice STIN.
I tried to find a plow at tractor supply along with the hardware store and I haven't found one yet or I'd make one of them
bubba007sss Try ebay.
stin987 Thanks friend I have tried but not lately though
Exactly how is the plow point attached to the seat post? Thank you!
Real good video. Thank you my friend's!!! :)))
You my Angel!!! :))
Amazing! I AM going to make one of these!
That is so clever!
Nice.. Well done
Would it be silly to tow this, plus weight, behind a mountain bike specially modified with big snow tyres (to get better purchase on ploughed up dirt)?
