    Hello Doug, there. Very nice video, once again. Makes me want to construct my own VERY similar copy to yours. If only I had a time machine.

      Hello Brother Holwerda. I recommend constructing a time machine, it might be less frustrating than making a Red Special. 👍🏻😂

    Great video Doug.. It was fun to follow your specs and draw it at the same time.

      Cool. Did I make any mistakes? 🤔

      @@dsgb C4a is a 1.5 inch circle on your drawing. You said 2.5 inch... confused me for a second. ua-cam.com/video/HqI7xIv03Wk/v-deo.html

    Amazing! I wanted to build one myself for years now. I see all those replicas people make, and I still haven't started. I don't even remember if I already commented something similar under one of your previous videos 😆 I think that's my coping mechanism for not doing it already... I just vent a little about it, how I WILL do it someday and then do nothing... Well someday 😅

      Go for it. 👍🏻😀 I decided that I would make a Red Special replica when I developed a typical teenage obsession with Queen in 1987 when I was 13 years old. I didn't start planning and doing design work for my build until 2015 then it was a further two years before I started physically making anything in 2017, some thirty years later so don't feel bad for putting it off! 😂

      @@dsgb My obsession also started when I was 13 but in 2002. So I have some time! Naah I'll try it sooner. I hope 😆 Cheers!

      Thanks. 👍🏻😀 I have provided a lot of guidance to allow people to produce their own design of their interpretation of Brian May's Red Special. For further insights, please check out the link below:

    hello, may I ask what is the distance of the pick ups with each other and the depth of tremolo? also is it possible if you show a blueprint of the tremolo? thank you so much!

    • @dsgb
      @dsgb  Місяць тому +2

      I state the pickup positions at time index 03:23. I will consider covering other design details in future videos.
      To clarify, my intention with these videos is to present the results of many hours of diligent study of photographs and critical evaluation of likely configurations to inform Brian May Red Special enthusiasts about this iconic guitar.
      You can then use these insights to better appreciate the instrument or design and build your own original interpretation of the Red Special.
      I won't provide free blueprints to enable anybody (professional or amateur) to make replica instruments. I don't gain anything from this and in my experience all that happens is people I do choose to help keep pumping me for more and more information.

    My guitar body, which I made, is 3 inches shorter, so I can't install a tremolo system. Can i still add a tremolo system similar to the one on the Red Special?

      I wouldn't like to say until I had inspected your guitar. Too many unknowns here.
