Then you weren't paying attention to how much it was skyrocketing long before Biden took office, or how much Trump's tax cut for billionaires allowed them to rapidly strangle out smaller property managers and consolidate properties to a degree the country has basically never seen. I had to move back in with my parents halfway into Trump's term because my rent had more than doubled in less than 4 years. I kept an eye on the apt listing afterward and it was nearly triple before Trump left office.
