    I’m seeing a TON of people commenting & emailing me saying that Kate Yup on UA-cam is Karlie Guse. This is totally untrue. I don’t know why people believe this, but if you look at Kate’s channel, the first video was posted in March 2018 and Karlie didn’t go missing until October. So please stop commenting this. It only hurts the investigation into her actual disappearance.

      Thank you for saying that. I don't know why people would believe kidnappers would put videos of their captive online. That would unnecessarily attract attention to the situation and thus might result in their arrest.

      if she overdosed she could have been. at one point after an overdose you can become drowsy and either pass out or you go in and out of a state of sleep. kind of like when you overdose on alcohol. but as with alcohol, when you know someone took too much it is important to check up on them when they are sleeping because they can stop breathing in their sleep for example.
      the adults in this situation were extremely irresponsible. especially if you dont know how to deal with someone who is on drugs/having a bad trip it is better to take them to the hospital before they harm themselves or someone else.

    • @misskrystyna5038
      @misskrystyna5038 5 років тому +52

      Kittysuit Yes, if you take too much of a depressant like alcohol or an opiate you will want to pass out and sleep. However, I think whatever she took or was slipped in the pot that she smoked was a stimulant. That would cause her to be awake and paranoid. Believe me, paranoid people don’t want to sleep. They are unable to, because they think a person or a force is after them, and they are in danger. I think her stepmother knew that she wasn’t in a good place, but perhaps didn’t want to call the police because of what the neighbors would have thought and the embarrassment that comes with that. If that was my daughter, I wouldn’t have cared and her wellbeing would be my top priority. However, many people don’t call the cops out of shame and humiliation. I totally think the step mother should have done more, and her inconsistencies in the story are alarming.

    • @Kittysuit
      @Kittysuit 5 років тому +29

      @@misskrystyna5038 what you said about stimulants is true, however, if she overdosed there's a big chance she passed out at one point or went in and out of consciousness. but yeah, the step-mother could've done way more. i feel her overemotional fake reactions come out of guilt rather than actual worry for karlie. whatever happened to her, the people who should've protected and cared for her failed and they now have to carry that guilt with them the rest of their lives.

      Could have been acid, I used to live in the same town, not in the same parts but I know that in some parts, especially Chalfant, the parties support horrible drugs such as acid. I went to school with that girl and she was always super sweet to me when we spoke, and she always cared about me, and I’m absolutely sure she cared for all of her friends in the same way too, such a strange feeling knowing this person is really gone, her boyfriend actually is still searching for her and it’s sad to see everyone wondering how she could have gone missing.

    If your child says they've done drugs, are panicking and asking you to call an ambulance or get them to the hospital YOU GET THEM TO THE HOSPITAL!
    It is not up to you to decide if they need help when they ask for it. It is your responsibility to ensure that they get that help.
    The stepmother seems incredibly sketchy to me, her stories keep changing and the father like he doesn't really care all that much?
    The whole audio thing is so fishy. Not even her mother has been allowed to hear the whole thing. It's not up to Melissa to decide if the audio is helpful or not, there could be clues she simply isn't picking up on. I think your theory is correct. Karlie probably was in bad shape and they thought she’d sleep it off. Happened to my son. He got into my medicine cabinet and took Benadryl. Don’t know how many. Anyway, He was hallucinating, paranoid, saying strange things. Trying to run off, hitting people. Took him to the ER because I was scared out of my mind and he didn’t come down from the high of BENADRYL for 2 days. Spent the entire time in ICU.

      So true and honestly I’m listening to her and she adds details to her story to make sure she covers her back. I’m a mom and this is a tell tell sign my kids are lying when they over explain things. In the Dr Phill video she adds really quickly that she had stayed with her the whole night and how she wanted her to stay with her. Making it sound like she was keeping a good eye on her and that her step daughter was close enough to her to want comfort from her. Also she never cry’s just works hard at sounding chocked up. It’s very odd behavior you can tell she realizes that she needs to put on a show. Complete fake emotions. All guilty people have a ready to go story on what happened so they can plant that seed with police and shine the spotlight on anyone/anything but themselves.

    I think Karlie died that night/morning due to her reaction to whatever she took. The way Melissa teared up and the way she said "Karlie" on the Dr Phil Show seems to be the most genuine and heartfelt part as in the reaction you have when you discover someone not moving next to you (deceased). Melissa feels guilty because she knew she could have done more and the same goes for Karlie's dad so they're covering it up to avoid possible neglect charges and having the other kids taken away.
    [Maybe Karlie did wander off and her stepmom and dad found her when she left and she passed away (I don't know what to make of those sightings)]
    Another thing from 27:40 when Karlie's mother is asking what Karlie could be so scared of that she wanted to call 911, is her dad (in the little clip) saying "I agree with that?"

    What I don't get is why they would immediately hide her body. Teenagers take drugs, it's not a logical connection to say it was their fault, so why cover it up? Were they quite forthcoming about the existence of the audio recording or did they have to come clean later? That to me says a lot about their involvement, if they tried to cover it up or gave it up immediately.

    I believe Lindsay's theory on what happened to her daughter. That Karlie was tripping on drugs and the step "mom" never called emergency services. (Still a form of murder in my opinion!) And don't you think it's convenient how that was the step mom's first things she said in her Facebook video was that human trafficking "happens" as if she was already trying to give other reasons as to why Karlie is missing to pull focus from herself.

  • @thegrimlooper
    @thegrimlooper 5 років тому +50

    why ask the child that? With the way she was reacting from the drugs, 911 or ER should have been the first thought. TBH, weed isn't bad if you're with the right people, at the right place and it's the right time (Also, if you're old enough too). Don't do ANY drugs with people you don't trust. With the way she was acting, I Do not think she was on marijuana. It doesn't make you think or feel that way.

      Not true. I had a horrible “trip” just from eating an edible “medible” and it lasted about 36 hours. I thought I was dead. I thought I was in hell. I was going to kill myself. It was horrible. And I was all alone. I can’t imagine what would have happened if I wasn’t in my bedroom on the 2nd floor of the house. If I had been on the first floor or had the energy I likely would have walked out of my house as well. Everyone reacts differently to marijuana. I can’t tolerate it in any form. My “symptoms” of being terrified but of not knowing why sound exactly like what Karlie was experiencing. Although tbh, it sounds like what she smoked was indeed laced with a stimulant or with LSD/acid. Poor girl.

    • @thegrimlooper
      @thegrimlooper 5 років тому +4

      Ashley Tomczak, I’m just going to let you know that marijuana truly is one of the safest drugs. YES, people react differently. But usually, it WON’T make you want to kill others or yourself. Marijuana has so many health and healing properties. It’s many forms can cure so much for a sick or dying person. It seems like yours must of been laced too, or maybe you took way too much. I’ve never met a person who got like that from weed, dabs, or any type of Marijuana. Sure, some just aren’t equipped to handle it. But it’s a safe “drug”. You just don’t use it around people that you aren’t safe with. That has a lot to do with it as well.

    The only other thing I could think of is that Karlie got up to walk somewhere for the help she was denied after everyone was asleep and the person that picked her up did something foul to her. My intuition says that’s unlikely though... there’s something very wrong with that stepmother.

Also could be why they didnt bring her into the doctor, didnt wanna be drunk in the er. I bet had they been sober mind, they would have taken her in. She could have walked off, trying to get help and someone picked her up and kidnapped/killed her.

    The theory that she od'd on their watch is the most plausible....even her facebook video is suspect, she sounds distressed but she is explaining why she is making the video rambles on about not being able to do this or that..blah blah blah..seems off to me. Not only that but she is changing her story as information comes out. She initially said she went to bed in her own room, sounds to me like she is distancing herself from the situation...then says she slept in the bed with her...thats night and day difference in details...she got the clothes wrong, until reports of sightings involving sweat pants she was wearing skinny jeans..she says "oops well she is always wearing skinny jeans". You dont have to be the sharpest tool in the shed to know in missing persons cases clothing is one of the main identifiers of as person..if she put her to bed and slept in bed with her, how in the world does she not recall what she was last wearing!?..unless there was signs she changed before she "walked out"...im curious to know when they showed that cops the video, the police should have gone straight to the house to see if their was any sign of foul play or possible signs someone had died after they heard the video.
    THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PARENTS ARE SO LOOSE IN THEIR LIFESTYLE THEY DONT COMPREHEND DRUG USE IS NOT NORMAL! HER CONDITION WAS NOT NORMAL, SHE WAS NOT OK. ...im kinda pissed

    I have a lot of thoughts on this case sorry for the long post whoever is reading 😂
    as a former heroin addict I’ve seen, used, and been around a lot of different types of drugs. If her pupils were dilated, that is most common with psychedelics like acid or mushrooms and uppers like meth or crack. Also could be a research chem which are most often strong psychedelics which can be very dangerous since people don’t know much about the side effects and the negative effects of whatever drug it is since most are new and not tested, hence the term “research chemical.”
    Downers like heroin and Xanax which are very easy to overdose on won’t cause large pupils but instead small ones so that’s not likely the case here.
    Strong uppers like meth can cause paranoia however, so can psychedelics. but both types of drugs last different amount of times so I’d be really curious to know how long it took for her to really start freaking out and acting bizarre and how long it lasted, that would answer some questions. I’ve taken a research chem that lasted all night and the entire next day, so if that’s the case w her she could’ve still been very high when she walked out of the house which is really dangerous.
    I don’t know why the people at the party weren’t question, everyone of them should be interviewed along with the boyfriend even if he wasn’t at the party. they need to look at pictures and videos from the party since teenagers like to brag about doing drugs there could be some info there.
    The parents just give me this weird vibe all around. It’s one of those things where you just can’t put your finger on what exactly it is, but you know something’s just not right here. I’m so sad for this girl and my heart breaks for her I hope she is found alive and well or found at all. ❤️
    sorry for the long post 😂

      It’s not just “research chems” that can affect an individual for several days - depending on the person’s mental and physical health, the effects can be very long lasting. In fact, LSD can actually trigger a paranoid episode. Some people even display permanent personality changes after bad trips. Hallucinogenics can turn VERY ugly when laced with weed, especially if it’s actually synthetic weed, since that in itself triggers psychosis.

    • @sammysabo
      @sammysabo 5 років тому +1

      Susie Choban of course it can always happen anything can but it’s not the most common

    • @susiechoban1542
      @susiechoban1542 5 років тому +1

      Sammy Sabo Oof, but it is. Both hallucinogenic lacing and synthetic weed are ingested without knowing, and pretty commonly. Weed and regular hallucinogenics are also far easier for high schoolers to acquire, because, well, they’re pretty “usual” stuff. And then bad trips are literally as common as good trips, and they always have a certain lasting effect, even if it is just aversion to the drug for the fear of the terrible trip.

    • @sammysabo
      @sammysabo 5 років тому +2

      Susie Choban yeah it happens, and bad trips happen all the time but it’s not always common that an acid trip lasts for days

    • @sammysabo
      @sammysabo 5 років тому

      Susie Choban I’ve done a good amount of drugs and have had quite a lot of bad and good trips. It happens totally. If it’s synthetic weed then yeah the trip can definitely turn bad. But I would say more often people use research chems thinking it’s acid and end up having a bad trip.

    Another youtuber about three hours away from where Karlee went missing saw a girl in a river bed who bore a striking resemblance to Karlee and called the Mono County Sheriff's Department and they were not interested in his report. He called the Sheriff close to where he lives and they sent a unit to the scene where this girl was seen that night to investigate the report, it turned out that the girl was not Karlee, but a 15 year old girl who ran away with her 17 year old boyfriend and they had been missing for 2 days and were returned home that same night. The point is that the Mono County Sheriff didn't care.

    As a mother it irritates me that they didn’t take her to the hospital. I am leaning towards Lindsey’s theory. I think they were trying to cover up negligence. When I was in high school my friend Colby smoked some weed that had pcp laced in it and he was so scared, he came to school thinking people were following him and was super paranoid. That could have been what it was but I’m not sure.

    It sounds like she could have been on hallucinogenic drugs maybe even something called a research chemical, I've seen people on that shit and they act really weird and flip flop their thoughts and emotions. @@sarahthrasher7895 I think she might have climbed into bed and died especially if it was a research chemical. @@sbradley1308 Well this theory doesn't make much sense to me either. I would imagine it's very very rare you see someone die from talking a rc. I believe it happened to the person your friend was at a party with I just don't think that sort of that happens hardly ever. And then it brings me to ask why would her dad and stepmom cover that up what's the purpose? Surely they would never get in trouble because the kid was on drugs and died they were obviously naive in the first place about drugs, no way would a judge indict them. The most plausible thing to me would be she walked out of house early morning, I would say her stepmom was not in bed with her, and she got abducted. But honestly anything is possible.

    • @sbradley1308
      @sbradley1308 5 років тому +2

      @@sarahthrasher7895 I think most people who died from RCs have pre-existing conditions that they were unaware of. It's definitely very possible she walked out and was taken, it would have been very easy for someone to convince her to get into their car if she was in that kind of state or to force her in. I just hope they find her, if she was trafficked or if she's being kept in someone's home it could be very difficult to get her back.
