- Aman Bhola, an Indian engineer from New Delhi, joined United Engineering Service, an electromechanical services contractor in Kuwait, in April 2023. The company began deducting the visa fee from his monthly salary, marking the first of several issues, he alleges. Further violations of Kuwait's labour laws followed, including the non-payment of overtime wages. Since May 2024, Aman has been embroiled in a legal battle in a foreign land, without a salary, for over nine months. Watch his My Report.

Kuwait is one of the worst countries to migrate to work .
India should raise issue with the department of labor in kuwait.

All support to aman. Way back in 1995 I took my employer al shirawi food company to court in dubai as he was not recognising my resignation. I then approached labour court for justice and got one.

This tale is as old as time. Having lived for a few years in the Middle East , it was a sad state to see the conditions of South Asian laborers , maids , nannies, etc. at the hands of their local employers.
The employers never follow the labor law as stated in the contract. Rather , they overwork their employees . Why ? Only because our people come to work for below asking wages.
You will never see their local people doing such menial jobs , they always opt for South-Asian employees as then they can take advantage of their desperation.
Not just South-Asian but also a lot of people from the many African countries are exploited like anything.
Idk why our Embassy is so lacking when it comes to labor laws & human rights in the Middle East.
It is an inevitable event if there is inaction on such cases

One thing i want to share here that Aman Bhola is truly a gentleman person in the real sense of the words, he did his internship in my start-up back in 2011 backed by Times internet.
Company where he still working in kuwait must have making false allegation against his behaviour.

I am safety engineer and as per ILO the max working hours are 48 hours a week and no force for overtime
There are labour law websites where you can lodge and FIR
Absolutely, If management follow the labour laws, workers are in harmony
Labour laws covers all the parameters and are well established by a country

The company filing case that Mr.Aman was not co-operative or punctual or true to his work, is easy to prove for the company, and difficult for Aman to prove vice versa. Been in a similar situation where a person in power, can threaten colleagues to go against you, to prove his point.
In the above case the company may threaten the colleagues of Mr Aman, tarnish electronic records and try to turn the table. I would like to know, from other people in the youtube community, how can one defend himself from such malicious act of company?

Read up on labour laws. Every employee is entitled to some rights which the company must provide. For example, the company can't withhold your salary simply because you are not working hard. They have to give a notice period and then let go of the employee during which they have to pay his salary.

Still a few companies violates the law and do not provide salary slips so that no one can prove it in court

I will never work for a company that wants to take my passport. Please don’t give your passport to an employer because you will be at their mercy.

So, one feel helpless when they arrive and forced to compromise to work

Iski daadi poori safed ho jayegi lekin isko insaf nahi milega. Lived in saudi for 8 years and managed an office in fahaheel, kuwait. (same place as him)

This is common to all Gulf Arab states. Indian embassies in the region try their best, but the sheer number of atrocities can overwhelm the labour complaints department
Ministry of affairs always hide such many cases
They do not know that such acts give incline to these kind of cases
File a legal case against HR who caught his collar and CCTV footage and Case should be files asap and put him behind bars
In reality, this didn't happen. Without truth, he couldn't have done that.

However, you are projecting that you were terminated for asking about salary deductions. If this were true, why did you accept the same salary from May 2023 to April 2024? Now you are complaining about salary, overtime, and labor laws. The fact is you are not fit for any job, from engineer to technician, even a helper. The company tried but failed to improve your performance, so they terminated you. You refused the termination and want to continue working for a company tired of your actions. If the company won't accept you, you create stories and blame the company, the embassy, and everyone who opposes your false claims. Realize your mistakes, but I know you won't because you live in your own world.

Everyone is forced to work because they know what happen in court case without proof like salary slips, contract paper
I was also forced to pay visa cost and work excessive hours not as per Kuwait labour laws
I finally filed a court case when manager told not to go on duty without end of service letter to put fake absconding case and deport me

I was given a chance at another site so I left that case
When manager threatened me again, I went to police also who told me to ask for end of service letter and also record for evidence if they hit
I filed a police case which is held due to the company fake absconding case on me

I kept silent l since I knew I can not prove it without salary slips in the court until manager gave me threatening and told me not to go on duty when I told him to respect and follow Kuwait laws

I have worked In Kuwait for 2 years in hospitality sector companies do whatever they want with employees one of the worst country to work in GCC don't think the bigger the currency the better the standard will be specially the mid size companies are worst. Only go if u know someone who is working or u will waste good years of Ur life .

@Aman_Deep_Bhola In a country with good labour laws, enforcing the laws is important. Gulf countries still are accepted globally for enforcing them equally. In Qatar during the Olympics a lot of labour were treated badly and so In Saudi Arabia.

Settling for peace in a honorable mannar can be as helpful for the general people and justice in general as going forward with this case cuz you are young and you can always work on awareness and other such acts. However its your call and I can only pray for your health and your betterment. Although you can also recieve funding for the case by ngos for betterment of employees or such institutes in the country be it india or kuwait for a branch of some multinational org.
