@@geckojeezus9578 I think it's about time that Penn State adapts then wouldn't you agree. If we are all gonna say the whiteout should be their biggest game then make it against Ohio State regardless of kick off time.
Only Michigan has tighter seats. And everything you said about the stadium like long lines, poor facilities, etc...is why they are renovating the stadium.
Despite the lack of offense and big moments to cheer for, the Ohio State game the week before was a 10times better atmosphere than the Washington game even with the noon start. The Pick 6 was the loudest I've heard Beaver Stadium since covid
28-0 or not I still wish I could be at PSU for a whiteout. I was at Mitchie Stadium one time where the water rose up your ankles if you walked through the concourse. The game ended up being a three scores difference. We stayed and watched the whole game because College Football is the greatest sport in the world!!! But the man gave you a blessing.
Not only did Fox ruin it, but NBC did as well by having the whiteout game streamed on Peacock (at least in my neck of the woods in PA). If I'm the Athletic Director for PSU, I'm furious. The whiteout is one of the biggest promotions for the football program specifically and the school in general. Instead of that being nationally broadcast, it was hidden behind a paywall.
Penn State should call Greg Sankey and ask for an invite to The ESPN Conference. THAT would GUARANTEE THE White Out is ALWAYS PRIME TIME on Saturday NIGHT!!!
and we bought Peacock to watch the White Out and that broadcast and picture quality was THE WORST I have ever seen since color TV was invented!!! It was worse than an 8mm home movie camera could do in the 60's!! I wouldn't give to 2 cents to ever watch anything on PEE COCK!!
It might look cool, but that university has the biggest ego ever. Spend your money how you want and have fun with it just want to let you know that everything about them sucks.
@@Griffman08 Nobody hates Penn State more than Penn State people actually. White Out is the best experience in college sports tho. You've never seen anything like it till youu see it, but maybe college football just isn't your thing?
It's truly a shame ya'll didn't get to see the full-throated whiteout. I was there for the blocked kick against OSU. I was there in 2002 for the pick 6 against Nebraska, and again in 05 against OSU. It was so loud my ears rang for 3 days and it's a crime what fox is doing to CFB putting these games on at noon. Fun story, on occasion like in the games I said before? The science labs that are on the entire side of the campus, their Richter scales detected the ground shaking from the vibrations from the stadium. Will give you the food and wifi inside the Beav' aren't optimal.
That OSU game in 2005 is one of the best memories I have of Penn St! It probably helped that I was a freshman that year, it was the first night game atmosphere I experienced, and we best OSU when they were like number 2. Sadly, I wasn’t able to get a ticket to the game, but I ran from my cousins frat house down to the stadium once the game was sealed, and walked with the crowd back to campus. Talk about chaos! Riot police on horseback on Beaver Ave….snipers on the roofs….people taking down street signs. Even being outside of the stadium was loud
I was at the FIRST ALL-stadium White Out against Noter Dame....where that smart-ass Jimmy "The Pickle" Clausen started his college debut as a QB....He was running for his life in the backfield!! "I never thought the college game was that fast?!!" That's when Charlie "I Ate the Chocolate Factory" Weiss said, "Noter Dame will NEVER play Penn State again!" LOL Actually, the first REAL White Out occurred against Michigan in October 1995 when 22" of snow fell on Happy Valley overnight Thursday before the game. There were thousands of volunteers and even prisoners from Rockview that came out to shovel the stadium out. There was some snow during the game but the residual snow left in the stands created massive snowball battles towards the Michigan bench and players on the field. LOL Joe PA had to call a time out and run over to the student section to chew them out or Penn State would get a penalty....possibly even forced to forfeit the game if it continued!
It sucks penn state gotta play smu in the playoff bc no one cares about smu they put that game at the noon slot so we’ll never see that night playoff atmosphere
been there many times......NEVER even close to THE White Out...and neither is Oregon or Washington. Been to both of them. Also, to UGA, and Bama recently which are good but NOT White Out. Also, to LSU and TX A&M....but that was decades ago, I will be hitting them up in the next couple years since they are now at 100k. The TX A&M homecoming does really get after it and that bon fire they did was amazing!! Even from a distance. But tragedy ended that tradition for sure. TX is boring compared to TX A&M. Missouri is as exciting as Pitt, (bring a pillow, take a nap). WVU are drunken hillbillies!! But I had fun passing out sets of FREE DENTURES! LOL
we did for 2016....with pellets of frozen rain stinging our faces, soaked to the bone and cold wind whipping around .......until...."AND GRANT HALEY WILL SCORE!!!" ......Then we didn't feel any cold....it was pure pandemonium!!!! Even the anOSU fans behind us were in awe of the crowd!!
If you go back for the home playoff game, make sure you get to the Penn State Creamery. Penn State has ice cream classes that top companies like B&J's sends workers too. It's a game day tradition for many
I 100% agree. Cathy is gorgeous from the outside, but seeing the nationality rooms and the interior architecture elevate her to another level. SnapBack should try again, and I’m amazed no one in their Backyard Brawl video told them to check out the inside.
I think the poor stadium facilities and amenities adds to the Whiteout. You don’t see a ton of people using their phones since they know the cellular won’t work. I still think it deserves to be docked points for that. Illinois (Whiteout Energy Game) was the real Whiteout and OSU and Bowling Green probably got louder than this Whiteout since PSU was such a heavy favorite and it wasn’t close
as an Ohio State fan, I absolutely say Fox ruined it. I miss Ohio State coming into Happy Valley under the lights and beat the shit out of Penn State during a whiteout! now, Fox seems to win every Ohio State game to kick off at noon
@oh.....5075 Ohio State could also be said to have won on a fluke when they won in double overtime and by a single point in 2018. It's funnyy how fans always lionize their losses but completely and utterly forget when their team wins 😂
like anOSU....keep ALL the 1st string in until 00:00 on the clock....why pass up the opportunity to good "great" against a demoralized low-level FCS team?
Blame Fox, and also blame Ohio State and Michigan because they were the main ones banging the drum for that contract to be signed so that they could avoid the Whiteout every year.
The university actually had to negotiate with Fox not take this game as it's asinine Big Noon game. We'll never get another White Out with Ohio State or Michigan while Fox has Big Ten broadcast rights. I don't know if ESPN or TNT get first pick for the first round of the CFP but I can almost guarantee PSU will be either the Friday or Saturday night game since it's a given it will be another White Out assuming we get the home game.
The whiteouts before Fox big noon like the 2016-2021 probably would’ve been the highest rated crowd but I was at that game it was the weakest whiteout ive been to bc it was against Washington and the osu game was the week before still a great crowd but just not what it could be so just imagine this game but way louder that’s what the other whiteout games I’ve been to were like
$500 gets decent seats at Beaver Stadium for a big game. You could pay more and sometimes a little less. Take the rail seats at ED or EF. On the other side of the railing in EE at midfield the price is several hundred more....just for the difference of a 2" railing!
If you only went to the Whiteout in the past 3 years against Minnesota, Iowa and Washington you didn’t go to a elite whiteout game. Don’t make a video on it until you do.
You can get your entire fanbase to wear white wow so cool you'll never win a championship. You want to see the best atmosphere in sports? Go to an Iron Bowl at either team's stadium.
You guys are a bunch of dorks, and obviously didn’t tailgate right. Best tailgates are not the ones immediately adjacent to the stadium, zero room there for it.
