The funny thing is I already watched Pokémon, Digimon and other animes as a kid but I never realised those were anime, then at one point at middle school a classmate showed me SAO and told me it was an anime and from there I became a fan of anime as a whole!

SAO was the first anime I got into when I came back to anime. It has a very special place in my heart ... think SNK was releasing at the same time, but SAO won.
Many people around the world would hate you for saying this. Crazy how we can't even have an opinion these days... however if it's up to me I believe SAO is better than SNK too.
Honestly, whether people like anime is subjective. So it doesn't matter what other people think, if you think its good, its good. SAO also has a very special place in my heart.

**WARNING: contains spoilers** the only thing missing that would have been so cool is a real badass fight between kirito and all his friends like a duel or something but they all put the seriousness into there swordsmanship and fought for real giving that sense of oh sh**s about to hit the fan feel like they did with fights against the floor 100 boss in ordinal scale or perhaps going back to nostalgia of kirito versus gleam eyes, sattelizer or laughing coffin guild leader in alicization (sorry forgot his name) i hope kirito's story never comes to an end but i would love to see asuna's story of everything that happened from her perspective while in sao and everything after
We get Asuna's perspective from the Progressive Movie. I believe that's one good thing, but I wouldn't have minded if it was Kirito either way because both are amazing characters.

I don't know if that's the best feat Guts ever had as I didn't watch Berserk, but if that's all he can do, he's far from Kirito's level. As I already said, when comparing characters from different animes you have to chose between 3 statements and you chose the wrong one. One more thing, if you want a good comparison, then by comparing 2 characters you have to take in account as much factors as possible (strength, speed, durability, etc are not the only things that should be thought about) environment, climate, personnality, and many, many more. But to do so you have to make them fight in a place in which they can use their potentiel to their fullest. For Kirito, that'd be an open space place (I don't know about Guts, or if he does need any kind of thing) in which he can freely move and use his wings at his advantage. You compared Kirito irl to someone in a completely different verse in which (I believe) all other characters have different sorts of powers, which is why if you want to compare Guts to Kirito, do so in their prime. I heard Guts can lift 100 kg of his sword, and as we know Kirito loves heavy weapons aswell, he even yields two of them, and though we'll probably never know their weight, we know both of them are more than just heavy for any normal human. Kirito got a thing that, for a normal human, is absolutely insane. He got skill, it's as simple as that. The nerve gear allows people to use their actual irl strength to their advantage in order to create powerful attacks in an harder way than if it was just a game. Meaning Kirito constantly uses his own strength aswell as the strength given by the game. He didn't cut off a supersonic-speed sniper bullet at 10 meters away out of sheer luck. What kept Kirito alive were his instinct, experience and skill. I have no idea what Guts has gone through, but if it comes to experience, that'll go to Kirito. Current Kirito in the anime has 200 years of experience, and even before that, Bercoliu (a 300 year+ WARRIOR) mentionned he has already gone through at least as many battles to the death as he has been. And don't go with this crappy thing of : "bUt hE fOrGot HiS trAinInG !". I don't even count the number of times I've said it anymore.... but all the way throughout SAO, we could see implicit explanations (the show itself is fully implicit, ever wondered why you rarely get inner dialogues ?) of the fact that no matter what you do, your soul won't forget what you did. If you need one of the many examples I can name, it would be the fact that Kirito kept putting his sword on his back even after SAO ended. "Old habits die hard", they say. Well that's exactly his case. Take, for example, someone that has amnesia. This person's everyday manners, way of talking, of moving, its very demeanours to the core are still intact and the same as before amnesia. And it is not a coincidence ; in fact the only thing that their body has forgotten is the way they think, knowledge of who they are, and such. Kirito is a perfect example of this case ; if you forget something related to memory, your soul isn't guaranteed to remember it. But if it's something related to your body, strengthening, or any of this, then the soul will always remember. That being said, current Alicization Kirito is at the very least a planetary level threat. His experience, determination and instincts kept him alive for 2 years in SAO, 2 years in Alicization, (not to mention the timeskip) and allowed him to eventually finish the "game". Now to your last point ; I do not mean, again, to hurt you or anything if you're just a big fan of Berserk, but I can confidently assure that Kirito is not playing games in any of the arcs he has taken part of. Even the Excalibur arc. If you need me to explain to you how or why every single arc of Sword Art Online is tragic and relates to Death in multiple ways, I can do so, just tell me you want to know. It always has been fights to the death with Kirito, and that I can assure you, he owned my respect throughout the series. To use your words, Kirito is playing worse than a Dark Souls and it counts as his real life aswell as even inside a game, the circumstances ended up being more of fight for survival than anything. One of Kayaba Akihiko's first lines in the series was even : "You indeed are inside a game, but you're not here to play.". You can think of it as Squid Games, that's the kind of horror the characters in SAO have been through. Guts is, in my opinion, the one playing games if he's just slaying armored soldiers with no motivation or anything... I'll be waiting for you to tell me what he can actually do in those very situations, though.
Oh yeah something i realized about Kirito At the end of the Aincrad ark where he "dies" I suspect He didn't die because He probably Tampered with His Nerve gear a bit Ie the microwaving brain part And some other stuff to boost his reaction time. Great work ! He also Proabably did Something with the admin pannel When he was downloading yui.

This person's everyday manners, way of talking, of moving, its very demeanours to the core are still intact and the same as before amnesia. And it is not a coincidence ; in fact the only thing that their body has forgotten is the way they think, knowledge of who they are, and such. Kirito is a perfect example of this case ; if you forget something related to memory, your soul isn't guaranteed to remember it. But if it's something related to your body, strengthening, or any of this, then the soul will always remember. That being said, current Alicization Kirito is at the very least a planetary level threat. His experience, determination and instincts kept him alive for 2 years in SAO, 2 years in Alicization, (not to mention the timeskip) and allowed him to eventually finish the "game". Now to your last point ; I do not mean, again, to hurt you or anything if you're just a big fan of Berserk, but I can confidently assure that Kirito is not playing games in any of the arcs he has taken part of. Even the Excalibur arc. If you need me to explain to you how or why every single arc of Sword Art Online is tragic and relates to Death in multiple ways, I can do so, just tell me you want to know. It always has been fights to the death with Kirito, and that I can assure you, he owned my respect throughout the series. To use your words, Kirito is playing worse than a Dark Souls and it counts as his real life aswell as even inside a game, the circumstances ended up being more of fight for survival than anything. One of Kayaba Akihiko's first lines in the series was even : "You indeed are inside a game, but you're not here to play.". You can think of it as Squid Games, that's the kind of horror the characters in SAO have been through. Guts is, in my opinion, the one playing games if he's just slaying armored soldiers with no motivation or anything... I'll be waiting for you to tell me what he can actually do in those very situations, though.
Not gonna hate SAO as a hater all you like I understand but as a fan I may say it’s OSTs are just so EPIC AND AMAZING!!!

@@The_Bionicle_Nerd well yes she definitely can do some cool stuff with technology but she has nothing to do with saving Kirito when Aincrad is destroyed that's proven in the story b/c Kayaba lets them go without any trouble
But it could theoretically be possible seeing as she's also a "player health" AI subsystem of the Cardinal system... maybe she could have done some cool stuff _if_ Kayaba wanted to kill Kirito
