    I'd bet that one match from stream where you spammed Fangs against Kragh, would make a perfect example video for showing just how ridiculous even the low tier basic units can become if they are allowed to get over-levelled. XD

    I have been seeing you in game. I am not normally super into or good at competitive games. Mechabellum has apparently spoken to me though. I have been playing a whole lot of it. It's been kinda crazy all the fun styles of play I have encountered. Though stormcallers have been my bane.

      @@del7330 I guess the hard counter to them would be air, but so much counters air, it's a rough way. I suppose crawlies also can make a mess of them, but you have to get around whatever other forces they got going on to do that.

      Staggered crawlers (flank crawlers too) to distract them is key. Crawlers move move command can also do a lot of work

      I'm having alot of luck using phoenix against stormcaller. Everytime they buy a unit of stormcaller, match them with one unit of phoenix.

      @@EASaber13If they don't have EMP, life linked sledges with regen are quite effective. They have durablity to close distance and take them out. Giving them chaff/infantry support in the form of fangs, marksmen to supplement damage output, and arch lights and stormcallers of your own as firesupport? Its a dam good combination

    the Shield buff card is one of my favorites cause even if its 40% more health to shields it feels like so much more, damn your opponent really threw by getting linked tanks especially when you went so hard with Snipers which are SINGLE target damage

    • @dtly50
      @dtly50 Рік тому +12

      Linked tanks with regen are the counter to when marksmen are bought as counter.
      However snipers are counters to linked tanks when linked tanks are bought as counter.
      Levels matter. Levels matter alot.

    • @jeremiasnater4288
      @jeremiasnater4288 Рік тому +5

      @@dtly50 It all depends in this game :D but honestly, linked tanks seem to never work against me, they are most of the time an investment of the enemy that makes my overkill damage be actual damage. Steelballs or Melting points are the obvious counters, but phoenix and snipers do well too

    • @dtly50
      @dtly50 Рік тому +5

      @@jeremiasnater4288 Thats why linked tanks must always go maintenance otherwise they serve no purpose other than to maintain firepower until they all die at once.
      It makes Phoenix and marksmen not counters, but steel balls and melting points can very quickly make them bad investments.

    • @devindeocharan8323
      @devindeocharan8323 Рік тому +1

      @jeremiasnater4288 It really depends upon who can get the ball rolling first. If your opponent is able to get linked regen tank and you deploy marksmen in reponse? Unless thar marksmen is high level it would be ineffective as total health pool and regen is higher than the damage of marksmen. Getting tech like elite marksmen and double shot evens things out, however still can be countered. Honestly, best counter and support for tanks and marksmen is infantry, be it fangs or crawlers

Most importantly, not spamming types of units randomly. After several weeks, youtube recommend me this video. This seem exactly what I was looking for. Now going to check out your vods on twitch. Strategies based on sledge have so many counters...
    Vulcan+phoenix is probably the easiest to execute.
    Overlords with some sort of chaff in front
    Rhino with final blitz or photon
    Ive even seen hackers work...
    Sledge are nice anchor units but sinking any money into em beyond lvl2 maybe lvl 3 upgrades is a giant waste imo

    • @drowsyCoffee
      @drowsyCoffee Рік тому +4

      The general gist of it is that overleveled units kinda beat anything you throw at em into submission. So, for the most part, you should try to level all your units (Minus like, random Crawlers that arent doing much besides distracting) in an attempt to get one or two off em really fed and into an overleveled scenario. The main reason to go units instead of upgrades is whenever you need a specific unit/upgrade to counter something your opponent has/you suspect them to build, like some Mustangs to deal with Wasps or whatnot. For the most part, the thought sequence is "Can i deal with this using more of the units i already have? If yes, upgrades are better, if not, more units (As in, whatever counter unit you need) are better"

    • @ianchu631
      @ianchu631 Рік тому +3

      @@drowsyCoffee I agree with most of your points but I would argue that building a more diverse army and learning unit synergies/counters will help newer players understand where/when to put their supplies into upgrades. Personally, I think upgrades are more for reaching breakpoints in HP than for just snowballing your main damage units.
      I don't have a lot of experience with rts or autochess games but I think Mechabellum is pretty unique in how "swingy" games can be combined with how balanced the unit composition is. "Rule of Thumb" strategies are surprisingly absent from what I've seen both from personal experience and spectating games (though survival is another story).

    • @DmitriyLaktyushkin
      @DmitriyLaktyushkin Рік тому +3

      Depends very much on the matchup. You have some hero units that are doing all the work and the opponent cannot easily counter? Definitely level up. On the other hand my frontline balls got countered with chaff so leveling up only increases hp a little and doesnt increase the damage they cause. I got storms instead since those actually punished the stangs.

      @Sha.ll0w Рік тому +1

      Incursus thinks it's worth it every time...
      I think countering with different units is the real play. As soon as the opponent changed up his unit type Incursus lost the round, saved by the Ion Beam.

    • @marcocapitani4474
      @marcocapitani4474 Рік тому +1

      A unit multiplies its stats by its level. So a level 2 unit is double the stats of a level 1, a level 3 is 3 times etc.
      In a void, leveling is like getting an extra unit's worth of health and firepower at a discount. In practice, putting all your eggs in a basket might run into a hard counter.
      Note that this is a problem only early game, since in later rounds you get so much money you can easily buy 3 units + extra recruitment + all the levels in the world; in the early game I usually focus more on having units (since the limit on units is harsher) and delay leveling for 1 round unless you are trying to overlevel a giant unit early and snowball.
