The amazing Molly Tuttle before the crowds discovered her talent. Pre-IBMA guitar player of the year award 2017, 2018!

What an accomplished musician Molly Tuttle is! She can (and does) play with many different groups. Fantastic banjo player and vocalist. Never tire of Molly and the Tuttles.

I first heard this from Dave Van Ronk maybe fifty years ago.
I'd say your version is mighty sweet. Pure and True.

Yeah! Molly's picking is dope! I wish they'd have played this a little faster though. But still a nice rendition.

Molly is just imitating what AJ Lee was doing by getting maximum exposure by playing around with as many groups as she can handle. Nothing wrong with that. Papa Tuttle must be proud of all of his very musically talented offspring.

That's really not true. there working on two different levels at the moment.nothing against ether one,but Molly's a full time professional Musician who is playing the main stages.at major festivals.and touring in Europe and Canada as well.she has been nominated by the IBMA for momentum awards three years in a row.A.J. is probably headed off to Collage, and is playing mostly in California.she may get to that level, but shows with Blue Summit isn't the same thing as playing with John Reischman and Tony Trischka.every young musician plays with different bands A.J. didn't Invent that.

mbsnyderc I will admit I was an A.J. fan not even noticing Molly on all of the Tuttle family videos. But I then started to see Molly in another light with all of her appearances on Berklee School of Music related videos, along with her branching out into the world with other worldly artists and groups and started to appreciate her talent for lighting up a room with her musical presence. It is fun to watch years of videos trying to guess what is really happening at any given moment as to whether the two embrace each others successes or whether there is a bit of jealousy involved. One can't really read between the lines of INTERNET articles without a personal reference.

Oh I'm sure they support each other.there just at different stages.Molly has decided this is what I'm going to do for a living.I'm not sure A.J. or her Brothers have yet.they might wait till there out of collage for that.

I've always heard this song to be called "Been All Around This World". More recently I've seen it called "New Railroad". Which is it? Or who cares?

Yeah, I also know it as such. Hang Me Oh Hang Me is how they introduced it so I listed it like that. I think I'll change it on the video. I googled the song and found this: “I’ve Been All Around This World” ~History, Lyrics & Banjo Tab Wayne Erbsen Of all the many kinds of songs there are to sing, by far my favorites are what I call “real songs.” These were not written in an air conditioned office on the fourteenth floor by fancy pants professional songwriters. Instead, they were written about events that really happened, by real people who were there to witness it. “I’ve Been All Around This World” could not be any more real if it tried. The outlaw captured in this song was reportedly hanged for murder in Fort Smith, Arkansas in the 1870s. If this is true, the chances are good that he was sentenced to die by the famous hanging judge himself, The Honorable Issac Charles Parker. From 1875 to 1896 Judge Parker had jurisdiction over Oklahoma and all of the Indian Territory. Over those twenty-one years, he tried over 13,500 cases and sentenced 106 men to death. Of that number, seventy-nine were hanged during his term of office. During the first fourteen years he was on the bench, the convicted could seek no appeal, save from heaven.Parker’s chief executioner was George Maledon, who took great pride in his “scientific” hangings. Of the seventy-nine men sentenced to death by the Hanging Judge, Maledon personally hanged sixty. When he finally retired, he went on the lecture circuit, proudly displaying several of his favorite hanging ropes.“I’ve Been All Around This World” has been collected under such titles as “The Gambler, ” “My Father Was a Gambler,” “The New Railroad,” “The Hobo’s Lament,” and “The Hobo’s Blues.”

Interesting backstory! Thanks for that. I agree, some of the best songs coming out of bluegrass are those steeped in history. Thankful for Jerry Garcia's rich tapestry of music, without I would have never been exposed to bluegrass and trad songs at an early age. Thanks!
