Putin needs to stop being a pussy and finish-off this conflict with Ukraine in a timely manner by flattening Kyiv where all of the maniacs, monsters and troublemakers are continuing to cause trouble for Russia. Also Ukraine has been a FAILED STATE since Victoria Nuland overthrew their government back on February 22, 2014.

In fact Mr. Orlov seems to me more of a disaffected Westerner at heart and only Russian by birth, early childhood and parentage. His social analysis, the basis of which seems to be the misapplication of systems analysis methodology to historical and assumed sociological truths - a disease often associated with mathematicians, statisticians and computer scientists but also certain persons in other branches of engineering and the physical sciences - has its detractors. However clever, this kind of enterprise is not airtight induction; in fact, induction is never airtight. Consider Mr. Orlov’s ideas as interesting and at least partially worthy but open to criticism like anything else. After all, “Dialogue Works” - or at least it should… and that implies a bit of cognitive dissonance.

They are given title, position, some wealth and power but ultimately their role is to aid the Anglo Saxon Empire conquer the World (Imperialism) by whatever means necessary (lie, cheat, steal and murder). Very few immigrants have the courage, self awareness and honesty to realize they are being used for "crimes against humanity" because self denial means living the "American Dream". Good to know Dmitry returned to Russia long ago instead of being a traitor to his race and humanity. Absolutely.... he gets it! The US is WAY more dependent on China than they are on us. We rely on China for the VAST majority of our consumer goods, and for critical and absolutely essential parts for industrial machinery, production machinery, transportation, etc. If we cut ourselves off from that supply of essential materiel, we'll be completely screwed in short order.
We spent the last 30+ years exporting our production capabilities to China... why? To take advantage of their ocean of cheap labor... most of a billion peasants tired of basically barely above subsistence farming out in the provinces, willing to move to the overcrowded cities to get a factory job and have more money, even if it was a pittance. For US companies this was a GOLD mine... no unions, no high priced labor and shortages of labor and high priced benefits to employ US workers, almost nonexistent environmental and workforce regulations... which reducing all those costs allowed for cheaper prices for China-produced stuff in the USA while STILL reaping a higher profit margin for the corporation, management, and shareholders... a total win/win. Added transport costs from China but new mega-size container ships took care of that, no problem. Now all of a sudden the USA wants to "reverse all that" and acts like they can do that OVERNIGHT, a process that has taken over 30 years to accomplish.
Simple fact is the US is in no condition to do it even if it COULD be reversed overnight. There's no skilled labor pool in the US anymore, and what labor there is is ENORMOUSLY more expensive than in China. Regulations costs also have a HUGE impact on production costs in the US, from environmental regs to worker protection standards, benefits requirements, etc. Even just building a new factory or expanding the old one will require environmental impact studies and a permit process that takes years and millions of dollars to accomplish. Even the fast food joints and Walmart, low end jobs that require basically no skills and no education cannot find enough decent employees... where do you think they'll find huge amounts of SKILLED, EDUCATED, and TRAINED workers to increase production in the USA? All these costs will be added to the price of whatever is produced in the USA, so that if something produced in China cost X amount, then producing it in the USA one could expect it to cost at least 3X the amount, maybe 5X the amount. Just like the cheap natural gas that Russia was selling to Europe now costs 4-5X as much when replaced by LNG hauled over by tankers from the USA.
If we get into a full-fledged trade and sanctions war with China, the USA will be crippled in a matter of weeks if not months. First off, most of our consumer goods come from China. How will people respond when they go to their local Walmart or Target and find 3/4 of the shelves bare, the cost of what they do have increased by 3-4X what it was a month or two before? Production and transportation of goods within the United States will be the next victim, as essential parts and supplies run out and there's no replacements for them. Critical machinery will break down, and with no repair parts coming from China, they'll STAY broken down. What will happen when people find themselves laid off from their job because critical production machinery is at a standstill because of lack of repair or replacement parts, tooling, etc? How will they respond when food is in short supply because critical rail and trucking transport is critically reduced because of breakdowns and lack of repair parts and supplies? Our economy will simply implode in on itself. Anybody remember the post-covid plandemic supply chain disruptions and the problems that caused?? Now imagine it 100X worse, at least...
Don't look for the gubmint to help, either. If we sanction China, they'll quit buying our US debt in the form of T-bills. Sales of US Treasuries have been in dire straits for awhile now because China and other countries can see the writing on the wall and have greatly reduced or quit buying US debt entirely. For one thing, they realize that buying US debt is basically lending us the money to go to war with them, and how foolish is it to do that? Secondly, they've realized for awhile that the US was going to try to strongarm them with sanctions eventually, and our uncontrolled debt growth was going to eventually make a default inevitable, and economic collapse with it. SO the Chinese have been stocking up on gold and other raw materials necessary to sustain their industrial economy, and if necessary, wartime economy, despite US sanctions. The US gubmint has basically been printing phony money to buy its own national debt (T-bills) that it needs to sell to borrow the money necessary to run the gubmint... it's like writing yourself a hot check to cover an IOU that you put in the bank to cover the hot checks you have out all over town that will be hitting the bank in the next few days... how long does anyone think a Ponzi scheme like that can possible last?? Foreign nations like China are increasingly realizing that by loaning money to the USA by buying its national debt as T-bills merely finances our continued wars and genocide against them and attempts to overthrow their governments and take their resources and exploit their nations...
The chickens are coming home to roost, and the US is living on borrowed time as well as money. Inescapable fact is, we need China WAY more than they need us... "The borrower is slave to the lender" which is absolutely true. China has been our lender for decades now. A trade/sanctions war with China will hurt them, true enough, but they can find other buyers for their goods, even if they have to cut production in the near term... but the US cannot replace the essential stuff we get from China... cutting ourselves off from it would be catastrophic in the near term, and would take DECADES to readapt our economy to replace it... by then we'd be long broke!

The latest legislation in the United States unfolds as follows: a staggering 50 billion dollars is allocated to bolster the military complex, resulting in an influx of job opportunities. In a reciprocal arrangement, the US Congress receives funding for elections. Additionally, a 10 billion dollar loan is extended to the Ukrainians, unfortunately leading to an increase in graves and casualties, leaving behind more orphans and widows.
    American Democracy at its worst.

I have nothing to add. Dmitri said it all, as usual. The contempt for the West that is oozing out of every seam of his answers is something I totally share. Call back in a couple of years, maybe something of value for mankind can be salvaged from the ruins of what was once the "West"!

    An excerpt :
By the fall of last year, Khortitsa, which at the end of the 2022 was considered the largest military formation among the 4 main formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (240-260 thousand people), lost 150 thousand in just one year. As a result, all the main units, I emphasize, the best that remain at Khortytsya now, concentrated for the defense of Chasov Yar - one at a time, and the majority have already been completely reorganized twice. That is, they were completely destroyed once or twice. But let's take a closer look at them, as this in itself is very interesting. In first place is the supporting and most combat-ready 93rd brigade “Kholodny Yar”. Almost a division in numbers. In two years it was destroyed twice. It is interesting that the “Kholodnye” were considered the most combat-ready, because they fought mainly with the best captured Russian equipment. These are primarily T-72, T-80 and even a few T-90 tanks. And also the best thing the Ukrops had - the T-64 Bulat. The “Kholodnye” were the favorites of the Americans, and, for example, during the autumn-summer campaign of 22, some units were directly led by American officers. True, when the Artyomovskaya meat grinder began, they quickly fled. In second place is the 46th airmobile (airborne) brigade, trained by the British in England, which, by the way, is the most unshabby - it was only reformed once. Next is the 92nd Air Assault Brigade (twice destroyed). These are generally suicide troops. Like the 110th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Avdeevka. They distinguished themselves by carrying out a massacre of our prisoners together with the Kraken battalion in the village of Novoselovskoye near Svatovo in the fall of the 22nd. Then 16 fighters of the Lugansk militia (now the same 4th brigade) died as martyrs. They put bags over their heads and suffocated them. Oh, what will happen when the Luhansk people reach 92nd.
