I have been using my SL50Summilux for a long time now. One of my favorite lens, hone used for the right subjects. Not my street photography kit.The 50Summilux renders unbelievabla on the SL3.Just a big, beautiful lens. This lens needs to be shot wide open, otherwise just shoot the 50APO.
Looks like you had some fun with the Lux! Hit me up if you want to compare the Lumix 1.8 lenses (or the Sigma 65 f2) sometime. Thanks for making Charleston look interesting again, too! Cheers!
I don’t know who you are or how long you’ve been do this, but your vibe and the review on the lens spoke to me. And the spray!! 😂😂 Keep going. I’m curious to hear your take on the 75 APO i’m actually considering/debating between the 50 or 75.
I'm working on re-doing the Leica M240 video this week, the 75mm will drop next week week. But if you DM me your email on IG (or email me) I can share a 75mm folder with you so you can see the differences for yourself. In short I like the tones, renderings, and size of the 75mm slightly better. However, if you're doing any low-light shooting there is no comparison with the 50mm 1.4 (I primarily shoot in low/available light and get way more use out of the 50mm 1.4). But if you're primarily shooting in well-lit situations or with a flash the 75mm looks a little better (in my opinion).
*_Correction Note_* : I accidentally show a screenshot for the wrong used lens ($3950), however, in the current market it is not uncommon to find a used Summilux SL 50mm for between $3500-4000, in excellent condition.
