Howdy do from California USA! Garlic is what I call my Joy Crop! I love them so! I have yet to successfully grow a good size elephant garlic. Maybe because we get too hot? I’m glad I stumbled upon your channel!
I love that you showed us the upside down one 🤣.. so cute. I just planted some in houston tx, it's still warm outside but we are technically in "fall"🤷🏻♀️
We are in fall in cali as well, cooled down then spiked to 80 today and i was like wtf its never that hot this time of year and now its 46 and im like my garlic is going to go fucking nuts with the yo yo weather
i'm so glad you commented on this video, i love the idea of recycling old appliances to grow things; i've been planning a hoogleculture grow, i've got a fridge in my garage taking up space. you're a genius! thankyou for the brain storm.
sometimes they will grow as just one large golf-ball like bulb, but you can replant that the next time and it should grow into the proper 6-8 cloves :) its just a weird thing i've noticed some of mine do
They grow into a single big round bulb the first season then the same bulb turns into segmented bulb the following year.who knows what percentage mine are one hundred percent
It's half through winter here 🇦🇺❤️💛🖤, and I just got my hands on a clove of elephant garlic. Never seen them in Aussie markets before, recognised it, grabbed two from the local butchers for next April. April is Allium month in Australia 🇦🇺🧄🧅 I'll have a bit of a peek-a-boo at some of your other videos. Ta muchly
This is the first time I've seen the first layer removed to dry don't like that idea.lightly brush the dirt off then on the drying rack being careful not to have bulbs touching one another.theyll go rotten
Many people do it this way and I’ve been growing and drying like this for over 4 years with great results and never had any go rotten. Everyone had there own way that works best for them. Thanks Ben.

Wonderful :-) love how you see how you grew one upside down but still good , garlic is a great teacher for growing and enjoying food
Hi Ben great video and some lovley looking eliphant garlic there, I have been given some to try got them in the ground last week stay safe 👍 🏴
Hi, thank you. I got mine to plant in the coming week. Can’t beat elephant Garlic 😋🧄
If you replant the corms (the little bulbs that hang below the main bulb) you will get more garlic.
Sir do they (corms) grow up into a single bulb within a year
They are called bulbils 🙂
@@muhammadamjad199no. The first year, they grow into a single clove. Second year, that clove will turn into a full bulb of elephant garlic.
I love elephant garlic! It’s so yummy!!
Thanks for this video. I'll be growing these next year. Cheers.
Helpful video! Thank you. I now know mine are ready to harvest and how to do it. Thanks again.
Love the bathtubs. I also take door off freezers n use them for taller beds n compost bin. I also do hugaculture in the freezers

Nice job. Going to try these this fall.
Just planted my one, six bulbs
What is the average amount of waiting time before you harvest?
Great harvest and great video
Thank you 🙏🏼
Great content, I plan to grow some next year :).
What did you fertilize with? I planted mine in Oct or Sept. They have these strong green stalks but will not grow any bigger.
I was hoping to learn whether the bulbs take 2 years to mature....none of the videos I've watched discuss this
I like the bathtubs 😊
Nice harvest.
Baby seed is called corms
I want to try these next season. How many cloves did you get from 1 garlic bulb? Or is it 1 giant clove?
6 to 8 giant cloves per bulb
sometimes they will grow as just one large golf-ball like bulb, but you can replant that the next time and it should grow into the proper 6-8 cloves :) its just a weird thing i've noticed some of mine do
Great size!
Sir can you tell me rate of this garlic and where you from , seed will available if i want to order?
Could you please tell me the percentage of croms sprouting into single bulb in a year and then the single bulb into multiple cloves next year
You answered your own question

Corms I believe

I'm in south Aus and I try to plant in March with my onions and garlic.
If its legal I will look into it I can send a bunch of varietals of certified disease free seed garlic from the US for you to plant.
