Thanks for this video! and thank you for emphasizing staying on trail. You're right that there are a few native species that live here that are endangered (I.e. the california cactus wren) and we want to preserve their habitat
Thanks for posting this, plan on doing peters canyon tomorrow and then maybe this one next. Plan on hiking a lot more now that it's starting to cool down a bit
Nice, yea it's cooler but still pretty hot. Just got back from a short hike there this morning and I have a nice sweat going. Def not as bad as last week though.
Nice hike,HG, I would never have known about that option, since when I come to SoCal, it's not usually to go for day hikes. However this looks like a winner. I have hiked many trails around SF bay area, bay and ocean side..similar terrain along the bay, and even you can find areas similar to this along the Santa Cruz, San Mateo, and Marin coast..thanks for your videos..Frank T.
Thanks thanks, yea this one is good if you're in the area, but I don't know if I'd make a special trip for it if I was coming from far away. Unless you're into birds. There's tons of bird watchers who come here all the time.
Great tour! Was this route the 3 miles that you said in the beginning? Also, is it stroller friendly (with real tires) if you use certain branches of the trail? Thank you!
You could probably use a jogging stroller but there are rough sections, I would go with a baby backpack. Some of the trails in the video have closed, check out the website for the ranger info and give them a call.
Just wondering if you have been back to this trail recently. I couldn't find the steps down to the shoreline at 4:10 (I think they have closed this off). Do you know? And is there another way to get to the shoreline.
Yea, they closed the steps off a few months ago, not sure if they are fixing that trail and plan to reopen. Going to head over in the near future and talk to the rangers and see whats up.
soon it will cool off and I will go to Santiago peak through maple springs trail silverado canyon 10 miles out and back I drive back and park where the dirt starts I haven't gone hiking in months way to hot but not soon
Spent a lot of time in that nature preserve in the summer of 2017. This brought back great memories. Thank you. Peace.
Awesome, yea, beautiful spot.
_A nice little hike, very nice to look at, thank you for sharing. Best greetings from Germany, Angela_

Oh cool. Can't wait to check that out. I'm curious, have you done anything on the trans Catalina trail?
I have (pre-blog) - the only guide I have up on the blog that I have is the Parson's Landing hike, which has a part of the TCT
I'll check it .....it's on my list for sure ! Thank you !

Unfortunately, that trail that goes down to the water isn't accessible anymore.
Just wondering if you have been back to this trail recently. I couldn't find the steps down to the shoreline at 4:10 (I think they have closed this off). Do you know? And is there another way to get to the shoreline.

That's too bad. It really is a highlight of the trail.

Yea, it's still pretty hot out. I was out this weekend and by 10am it was pretty toasty.
