Masterbuilt Smoker Repair Success

Heating element not turning on. The fault was in the safety limit switch. It cut off power to the element. After removing the switch, which can only be accessed by cutting a panel through the metal at the back (15 inches from top 2 inches from right is the location). I used a reciprocating saw w a metal blade to make the cuts. The switch had a loose terminal and visible carbon on rivet. Bought a new one for a couple dollars, swapped it out and put a metal plate covering the holed out panel (Home Depot 5x8 inch 16 guage stud protector). Used Red RTV gasket maker to create seal. Used dielectric grease around terminals and connectors to prevent future corrosion and potential arcing. Replaced female connectors with insulated flag spade connectors that I crimped with a basic electric wire stripper/crimper.
