Thank you so much for the vids. Because of them I was able to squeeze out all the crown events like the dark rain one. Unfortunately this fight and the tifa crowns will be the first that I just cannot complete. It sucks but I already have the DV katana and I’m hoping my Premium Tidus will carry any future water fights. Hopefully these come back when I have better gear and units to knock it out.
They should come back in a permanent dungeon at some point. At least that's how they did these over in JP. They should, at the very least, rerun the event again down the line like they're rerunning Vlad's crowns this week.
Thanks for the clear and for lending your Rain for the clear. Both my Rain and your Rain did 20 billion damage and ended the fight on turn 3. And it is nice to see Esther in clears. She is a really well made unit imo. Even though her damage is not top of the rankings anymore she still can tank. And her animations are really great. Hopefully we see some buffs for her tanking and damage dealing on anniversary.
So, yeah, I just got around to this, and one thing I will also note -- it is imperative that you make sure you remember to set your FA Rain to the leader! OMG, without the leader skills, this doesn't work at all.
Thanks for the guide. It's always nice so see a good use for our favorite bunny! I used Tsukiko in Cissnei's place and got very close to a 3 turns clear. It was just a little dangerous, cause first turn got him down to 81%, quite a close call.
I couldn't find a friend Rain with death immunity so I did the same and chanced one with out it. Dodged and the friend was ex3 so I killed directly from 85% health on turn 3. Thanks again.

Vaan provides the breaks so you would want to replace him with another breaker. Someone like Kaktiria, Crowned Locke, Lara Croft or Wylk are your best options here. DL Fina sadly doesn't have the right support for this fight since none of her killer buffs match up.

You can use Sylvie to fill Rain's LB on Turn 1 if he's only Ex1, just have Esther put up her 90% gen mit for herself on Turn 1 so she doesn't take too much damage. As long as you have a strong friend Rain to bring to the fight you should still be able to get this one done within the turn limit.
My main question is my rain near same gear, but I have base COW and you have +1 (all other items, vc, fully buffed lvl 130 same) and somehow you have 3k more atk than I .. Does +1 really equate to 3k more attack? If so I have been sorely under estimating that +1.. or missed something in IW.
Something is definitely wrong there. You have Rain set as your Leader? Sounds like you're missing the leader skill bonus. I don't think the CoW gear would make THAT much of a difference. Even if all your CoW gear was not upgraded to +1 that would only be ~1k ATK difference.

Yep that was it .. Thank you made my night : ) I think I have attempted this battle probably 20 times, with >3 different teams, before finding yours which was by far the most similar to my units and equipment. Last time I was within 1-2% of what you got in the video per turn.. so it was just me : )
The best breaker you have. Breaks will be more important than the bigger fire imperil here. Crowned Locke, Lara Croft, Vinera and Wylk all have a 90% def break. Kaktiria can do an 89% def break. Just be careful and save the big break for turn 3 so it doesnt get dispelled.
At this point you can bring any top DPS unit with a Leader Skill to this fight. Rain was the new hotness when this trial first dropped which is why I used him back then. Got Richt? He'll crush this one easy.
It's possible, but not as quickly. A good alternative is using the new Ibara but go lightning element with Sylvie using her 100% amps for the party. Sephiroth has innate 100% dark resist so can't go dark with Ibara.
Especially if you have Cloud Strife, he's a great choice for this fight if you're going lightning element. It was basically designed for him in the JP version because it was locked to FFVII units so that's a good option for you if you have him.
I would be surprised if this can be beaten without leaderskills. Dio completely drops the ball here and Ibara would need an external amplify so its pretty rough without Rain.
With an omnicover tank, you can take your time. I beat it on like turn 10. Lots of DPS you can take. Try to do a big burst before 80% hp threshold since that is when he puts on the defense buffs.
@@buddysievers9964 I don't really think you need a Leaderskill if you've got a solid tank but honestly it comes down to the battle mechanics. As long as you know what the boss is gonna do each turn and are prepared for it with the right units and gear you can get it done. That being said, if you have any good Leaderskills it probably wouldn't hurt to bring them. As long as you've got the right support even an off-element unit can still be useful, especially one with a good Leaderskill.

Definitely. Ex1 is enough for both Sylvie and Esther on this one since you really just need access to their brave shift forms.
