Yay you’re back! I still remember your “in the rain?!!!” reaction from season 1, it was the best! A tidbit of info for you since you asked. Yes, Nick is in “year 11”, but it’s not the same as 11th grade in the US - it’s actually the same as 10th grade in the US, so he’s basically finishing his sophomore year and has two more years left (Year 12 and 13). Charlie is in “year 10”, which is equivalent to being a US 9th grader/freshman. It’s pretty much just because in England they start counting from “year 1” at what we call kindergarten… which is honestly logical.
Oh, if you go back to the interaction between Nick and Imogen at the beginning of the episode, and the kitchen scene, it definitely seems like she already knew and was just waiting for Nick to tell her. After that scene at the end of the rugby match in S1E8, her smile showed that she already understood then why Nick wasn't interested in her. Although ger face when he told her that he's bi, actually, was priceless.
Also, I think you're right about not giving a crap about what other people are saying about you. If bullies are going to bully you anyway, or people are going to exclude you anyway, there's no longer an incentive to conform to the norm. So let your freak flag fly as long as no one is getting hurt by you being yourself. Maybe that's one reason homophobes act like they do - they simply don't like when we refuse to conform to their norms.
About rainbows (17:00), fun fact: in the near-opening montage with Nick & Charlie visiting each other's homes several times, look at Nick's shirts. They're all the colors of the rainbow.
Her dog died between episode four and five. That was several months ago. As for Charlie’s parents, they are worried about him. They knew about all the bullying that he went through over the last year and it was people like Nick’s friends that were bullying him. So they’re a little apprehensive about Nick. mostly the mom, his dad is OK with it but just doesn’t want them to have sex yet
This was a fun reaction! ❤ You’ll definitely see more of Charlie’s protective side in this season, though I actually think he was quite understanding and protective of Nick in S1 too. (Almost to a fault, because he’d always put Nick’s comfort first, even when it meant taking shit from both Nick’s friend group and his own…) But Charlie has very much been Nick’s safe space throughout his coming out journey, from that first conversation they had after their first kiss!

Kit Connor (nick) was working out between seasons because people were commenting how he doesn’t look like the nick from the comics the nick in the comics was more buff and taller and Kit just had a growth spurt. And Ben and Harry really pisses me off Harry less so this season but Ben is just not a good person. Also S3 is coming in October!!
