JCB Teleskid Means Freedom For Me: Luke Liggett Testimonial

The story of a veteran and his JCB. On the setting of his family farm, Heaven Sent Farms in Avella, PA, a mere mile away from the West Virginia border in Western Pennsylvania Stephenson Equipment and a production crew from JCB were able to meet with Luke, his father John, his wife Tara and their three young kids Rory, Judah, and Kingsley. It is a beautiful setting and was a breezy, sunny and cool day for August.
I guess we can start the story in May of 2022 when Stephenson received a demo request from Luke for a used JCB Teleskid we had for sale. You see Luke has been stricken with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) a neurodebilitative disease that will eventually deteriorate his physical abilities. Luke was set to become a Navy Seal, he was “a beast of a young man” as his dad John put it as he proudly showed us a photo of Luke while he was serving in the Navy. In Luke’s own words while we were there “Farming is my calling” so Luke finished his tour of duty with the Navy without going into the Navy Seals because of the long 6 year commitment it would take as he anxiously wanted to get back to the family farm.
So soon after his return to the farm Luke began to notice his health was “not right” as he described, and after many doctor visits and tests he got the ALS diagnosis, leading him to the wheel chair and his condition as he sat with us today. Because of his condition Luke has a hard time speaking, so his wife would help by re-speaking Lukes words while we did the interview.
