No joke though, I first learned about this band via my high school German teacher. She was this older, little bitty lady who you'd think would NOT be a fan of rock/metal at all. Towards the end of the year, she wanted us to get practice in on reading/writing german poetry and lyrics. She brought in Du Hast for all of us to try and figure out and to teach us the difference between Hast and Hasst (have and hate). Then I got their second album and the album Mother and it was all over.
Reminds of and old joke: Five kittens walked out onto frozen ice. The first four went too far, and fell through the ice, and drowned. Later, when the surviving kitten was asked what happened, she told them "un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq".
Actually, this song was intended to be boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko's entrée, that's why it says 8...9...Aus!(Out)... Hoever, Klitschko prefered RHCP'S Can't stop.
+Scrap Master Not to be a buzz kill, but the song was written as a famous Russian boxer's entrance song, hence the ten count, the verses about hands and the reference to darkness/knock outs.
I think the Snow White character is made to represent America. The beautiful, but cruel, America is oppressing the poor Germans, (the dwarves) punishing them unfairly and mistreating them. On the other side the Germans/Rammstein (dwarves) are attracted to Snow White in a perverted way. They eventually kill the evil America by using her own decadence against her and are able to return to wonderful freedom. America/Snow White is revived, when the apple of youth and immortality falls on her. Now America is revived and the Germans must return to the cruel oppression they were suffering before under America.
Richard Bilodeau actually the band was watching snow white and the dwarves while this song was playing and decided to make it the video, but yes the song is for a german boxer, kloshkov or something. i read up on it bc i wanted to find out about the snow white actor which is just sexy as fuck to me. Her name is Yulia Stepanova
