Mike is the most real!!! I was born in ‘91, so I was a little kid when the sound was all over the airwaves of Florida. Friday nights were so lit listening to 9333FLZ. Reached out to Malcious Mike for a track ID and he straight up sent me the .mp3. Mark my words I’m going to bring Mike and all the big homies back because Tampa Bay needs to recognize the real pedigree of EDM/breaks/techno of Tampa Bay!!!!
I miss all these guys. Mike, rose, paul santana, dre morales, fixx, keith mackenzie, tony faline, huda, afterdark mark. Most of all mad love for the painted puppy and may he forever fly wwith the angels love n miss you rick. Your style and lengths of your mixes are forever etched into time in our souls through our journey here on borrowed time
One of the greats! Malicious Mike, from 954 to 813BayBreaks. He along with an elite few minted the sound of Florida Breaks. 20 years later and it is pure gold to my ears.
Sound will never be duplicated these "breaks" coming out today are garbage, always try to direct as many 20s to my Breaks as I can opened some eyes love when it happens ✌️
Thank you so much for this fantastic representation of Florida breaks. I have been all over the US , and the different genres vary from town to town, although none of them had our funky sound. Listening to today's EDM or whatever they call it now seriously lacking in the flavor of tracks. Dont get me wrong. There are some amazing tracks that have been made in the last 20. However they all lack that hard pumping basslines that just made you bounce. You literally couldn't help but move to the beat. Lol Let the music take control.
Holmes, straight up TRUTH. Saw Barry Weaver - from San Diego playing a set in '96 - he was laying down progressive house beats, then kicked in with a thumping 808 break. THAT WAS IT RIGHT THERE!!! STRAIGHT VISCERAL! Hit the roots of my introduction to Hip Hop through the likes of RUN DMC, the Beasties, and DRE making that sound loud via NWA...and from listening to my boy's cassette copy of As Nasty as they Want to Be in 1991. But RAW, just a RAW take on that. I am from the diametrically opposite coast in Vancouver, but between '96 and '02 so many of the Florida scene players came up here and STRAIGHT UP WRECKED SETS and left Dj's coming on behind them shaking. Icey, Tony Faline, Mike and Charlie, Dj Spice, Dj X. Heads ate up that flavour in Seattle as well. Shit still KICKS. So DOPE that the Florida take on Kraftwerk to Soulsonic Force to Mantronix to the Egyptian Lover coalesced the way it did. Yo, Proper, this mix is so NICE. Gratitude to you for posting and all the other STRAIGHT SLICK mixes you have representing the TRUTH coming out of that scene! Peace, Lil Buddha
I hear you man, I used to go to parties back in the early 2000s, and in college at our new weekly there was this guy that played breaks. He was from Florida,(of course), and thus my love for breaks started. Shotout dj eZe in springfield mo. Florida bass /breaks is the best imo. Also electro breaks are too sick
One of my favorites. Living in St Pete I used to listen along on Wild 98.7 during their X Factory show when they would play live from the clubs until 6:00 a.m. What a blast the '90s was.
Was just reading your description box and oh my gosh I’m so glad you have these gems! This is fo sho a blast from the past! Helluvah good time then and now! All smiles! Lessssgoooo 🎶🔊🎵🔊🎶💃🏼

Have you checked out On Da Mike tho? Ravesta Records right here on yt! You should!!! JS ❤🎶🎵🔊🎶🎵🔊💃🏼
@@fishfire_2999 New breaks are mainly booty, but the few older crew still has some mind benders. Like a mix of old school with better production.
Miss you Mike, you left us too early 😢
